5 Andrea Gaston head coach 17th SEason One of the finest coaches in the country, 17th-year USC Women s Golf Head Coach Andrea Gaston has directed two NCAA Championships teams, three NCAA individual champions, three NCAA Players of the Year, has twice been tabbed national coach of the year and has built the Trojans into one of the NCAA s powerhouse programs. After guiding USC to its first-ever NCAA crown in 2003 with a wire-to-wire 15-shot victory, Gaston directed the 2008 team to its second championship, also winning it in wire-to-wire fashion. USC won its final four events en route to the 2008 title, cementing Gaston s place as one of the NCAA s premier coaches. Validating that status, she received her first National Golf Coaches Association National Coach of the Year honor in 2008 to compliment similar awards as 2008 NCAA West Regional Coach of the Year and 2008 Pac-10 Coach of the Year. Then, on Dec. 7, 2010, Gaston earned the top honor in women's collegiate golf when she became the 43rd coach to be inducted into the NGCA Hall of Fame. "I am deeply honored to be a part of the NGCA Hall of Fame," Gaston said. "This award is a tribute to all the talented young women I have had the privilege of coaching the past 15 years." For the second time in three seasons, USC fell just one stroke short of first place at the 2012 NCAA Championships, finishing second to Alabama. Still, it extended USC's streak of NCAA top 5 finishes to a nation-best seven. USC won twice on the season, including Troy's record eighth NCAA Regional, and had seven top 3 finishes and four top 2s to end the season. Gaston directed USC to four wins in 2011, including her second Pac- 10 crown and seventh NCAA regional title. The Trojans tied for fifth at the NCAA's (though played the event without one of its top players due to injury). Despite falling short of the NCAA title, Gaston's colleagues honored the Trojans' overall strong season by selecting Gaston for her second NGCA National Coach of the Year honor. In 2010, USC was literally inches away from a third national title, finishing second at the NCAA Championships by one stroke. Troy won four titles that year, including at the NCAA Central Region and were led by sophomore Jennifer Song, who earned All-American first team honors and was a Honda Award finalist. In 2009, Gaston's Trojans were again among the top teams in the nation and posted top 4 finishes in all 11 events, including six secondplace finishes. The Trojans finished third at the NCAA Championships (after leading after three rounds) and second at both the NCAA West Regional and the Pac-10 Championships. With the bookend 2003 and 2008 NCAA titles and top 3 finishes in three of the past four seasons, USC has finished in the top 5 at eight of the past 10 NCAA Championships. In fact, the Trojans have reached the NCAA Championships 15 times in a row under Gaston and have been in the top 7 an amazing 12 times. Gaston was a champion as a player, and has solidified the same standing as a coach, joining a small group of coaches who enjoy the same distinction. It was just a matter of time until the two-time California State Amateur champion ( ) transferred her playing success at the highest level of amateur golf to blazing achievements at the collegiate coaching ranks. Gaston was no fly-by-night in terms of playing success. Her track record prior to her state amateur achievements in stands out on its own. Prior to those triumphs, Gaston was one of the top players on the San Jose State University women s golf team in the late 1970s. Her best individual finish was a third-place showing at the University of New Mexico s Tucker Invitational, but her biggest collegiate highlight was finishing tenth A BLUEPRINT FOR SUCCESS In 1998, Gaston outlined her "Blueprint for Success" strategy. The strategy emphasized the need for each player to commit themselves to a six-pronged approach that went beyond traditional team goals. "The Blueprint for Success that I presented set the framework for the future and has steadily paid dividends over the past six years," said Gaston. "It is not just about golfing skill, but also the need for self improvement in conjunction with a vision for a team spirit in a very individual sport." The USC Women's Golf Team's Blueprint for Success includes: Unity (esprit de Corps, camaraderie, respect and trust) Skill (talent, ability, expertise and proficiency) Commitment (resolution, perseverance, determination, tenacity and sacrifice) Willpower (drive, desire, control, self-mastery, discipline and dignity) Goals (purpose, objectives and vision) Teamwork (coordination, communication, collaboration and continuity) individually at the NCAA Championships. At that time, she competed with many of the LPGA Tour s all-time greats, including Nancy Lopez, Patty Sheehan, Beth Daniel and Betsy King. Gaston also qualified to play in the 1977 U.S. Women s Open. Gaston, after a 14-year hiatus to pursue a business career, came back to competitive golf in She was a 1993 USGA Women s Mid-Amateur semifinalist, a top qualifier for the 1994 U.S. Women s Open along with the 93 and 94 Women's U.S. Amateurs, and had back-to-back victories in the 1994 Los Angeles and Long Beach City Championships. To top that off, she even went toe-to-toe with former USC and LPGA standout Jill McGill in the 1994 Colorado Broadmoor Invitational, losing to her in a 36-hole championship match. She then won her two consecutive State Amateur championships (becoming one of the top ten amateurs in America in less than two years). At that point, Gaston decided to give the professional ranks one more shot. But the opportunity to coach at USC came to Gaston while she was competing on the Futures Tour in Even while at San Jose State, USC had always beckoned to her. The chance to be a part of the Trojan Family was too good for her to pass up. PAGE 4 University of Southern California

6 Gaston wanted to return USC women s golf to the forefront of collegiate programs and make them a consistent top 10 team. She also knew this was a great opportunity to be a part of the outstanding tradition at USC and be associated with the strong Trojan alumni base. I may have walked away from my own dreams as a player, but I have now stepped into an even bigger dream and a bigger vision, said Gaston, who knows of no greater opportunity than to be involved in the shaping and development of young players and to help them prepare for their futures. Gaston obviously made the right decision. While her playing era has come and gone, the Gaston coaching era is in full swing. And with the players that have come through central Los Angeles lately, Gaston is creating a recruiting legacy that will forever be remembered as the start of a golden era in Women of Troy golf. First, there was 1998 NCAA champion and Collegiate Player of the Year Jennifer Rosales, who won the title in only her sixth collegiate tournament. Next, in 2000 there was two-time All-American selection Candie Kung, who after departing USC won three times on tour in 2003, finishing sixth on the LPGA tour money list. In 2003, she coached another NCAA individual champion--swedish sensation Mikaela Parmlid, who also took home that year s Honda Award for women s golf. In 2006, she helped guide Irene Cho to possibly the greatest individual season in Women of Troy golf history while her teammate, Dewi Claire Schreefel, came away with Troy s third NCAA individual championship. Both were nominated for the Honda Award with Cho, who won four individual titles on the season, taking home the award. In 2007, Troy finished fourth at the NCAA Championships and Paola Moreno tied for second to earn All- American first team honors. The 2008 season set a host of more firsts. The squad featured five All-American golfers for the first time in program history. Belen Mozo was named an All-American first teamer, Schreefel, Lizette Salas and Stefanie Endstrasser were second teamers and Moreno was an honorable mention. USC s streak of four consecutive titles (which ended the season) was also a program first. That streak included its third straight NCAA Regional title as well as its first Pac-10 title since The 2009 squad boasted NGCA Freshman of the Year Jennifer Song, who joined Salas as All-American first teamers. Mozo also was an All-American second teamer. In 2010, Song earned All-American first team honors for the second year in a row (becoming USC s first two-time first teamer since Kung in 2001 and 2002), was the 2010 Pac-10 Golfer of the Year and was a Honda Sports Award finalist. Salas was a second-team All-American, her third career All-American honor, tying four other Trojans. Under Gaston in 2011, Sophia Popov earned NGCA and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors and joined Salas, now as a senior, as an NGCA All-American first teamer while junior Lisa McCloskey earned second team honors. Salas also was tabbed 2011 Pac-10 Player of the Year as she became USC's first ever four-time All-American. In 2012, McCloskey and freshman Doris Chen earned All-American first team status while Popov earned honorable mention honors. It s not the unparalleled success that makes Gaston proudest. Instead, it is her players day-by-day and year-by-year growth that brings her the most satisfaction. Golf is a great avenue for our players development, said Gaston. Whether they choose golf as a career path or not, their experience while they re here-- along with their degree from USC--will take them far in life no matter what choice they make. We are continuing to expand our future plans, so I know there s no better time than now to be a part of our program. We are totally committed to the kind of achievement that makes the USC women s golf program one of the best in the country. Gaston completed her education at California State University, Northridge, graduating with a bachelor s degree in physical education in Gaston is also an active participant in the collegiate golf coaching community as a member of the National Golf Coaches Association and served on the Awards Committee from Gaston also served on the NCAA Certification Committee and was appointed to the subcommittee focusing on equity, welfare and sporting conduct. 9 Justin Silverstein Assistant Coach First Year Justin Silverstein, a former Pac-12 golfer with major collegiate coaching experience, is in his first year as a USC women's golf assistant coach. He was hired on July 5, "Justin brings a positive energy and enthusiasm to our program," USC Head Coach Andrea Gaston said. "I am eager to have him get started. I know he will have a positive impact on our players. He is an extremely hard-working and relentless recruiter and I am confident that he will be integrally involved in bringing future Trojan greats to our program." Silverstein comes to USC after coaching four seasons at his alma mater Arizona, the last two as a women's golf assistant and the previous two as a volunteer assistant. In 2012, the Wildcats won three events and reached the NCAA Regional Championships. In 2011, Silverstein helped guide an Arizona team that won two events, posted three top 8 finishes that included a tie for second at the Pac-10 Championships, and reached the NCAA Championships finals. Silverstein served as a volunteer assistant coach in 2009 and Silverstein was a member of the Wildcats' men's golf team from , but a wrist injury suffered as a freshman limited him to two career appearances. He finished with a career average and a low round of 69. He graduated in May of 2009 with a degree in regional development and a minor in business. He was employed by the I.R.I. Golf Group before joining the Wildcat staff. An accomplished prep golfer, Silverstein helped Torrey Pines High in San Diego, Calif., to a pair of state titles and was a fourtime all-conference selection. He also participated in the 2003 United States Amateur Championship in Oakmont, Pa. Said Silverstein: "I am incredibly excited to join the USC family. I want to thank Coach Gaston for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the women's golf program. While at Arizona I was very fortunate to have worked under two great head coaches and I cannot thank Coach Ianello and Coach LaRose enough for all that they have taught me. "Having coached in the Pac-12 for a number of years I have been able to see, first hand, the success that Coach Gaston has had with her teams. The Women of Troy have long been one of the best programs in the nation and I intend to work hard to help bring another championship back to Heritage Hall." PAGE 8 University of Southern California

11 Kurt Schuette USC Director of Golf Development AND Facilities 18th SEASON The season is Kurt Schuette s 19th season at USC. He began his career at USC as the men s team head coach and was quickly promoted to Director of Golf to oversee the men s and women s teams. He has since become USC's Director of Golf Development and Facilities and it is with great ambition and purpose that Schuette took the new position. From the beginning, his goal has been for Trojan Golf to be the program by which all others are measured. Each year both teams have steadily made progress towards this goal. In 2011, Schuette secured The Riviera in Pacific Palisades as host site for the 2012 NCAA Men's Golf NCAA Championships, which USC hosted last year. Schuette serve as tournament director for the event, which was roundly praised. Both USC's men's and women's squads have been enjoying much success in recent years. For the second time in three seasons, USC's women fell just one stroke short of first place at the 2012 NCAA Championships, finishing second to Alabama. Still, it extended USC's streak of NCAA top 5 finishes to a nation-best seven. USC won twice on the season, including Troy's record eighth NCAA Regional, and had seven top 3 finishes and four top 2s to end the season. The 2012 men's team made it to the NCAA finals for the seventh year in a row, but did not reach the match play final. The 2011 USC women's squad tied for fifth at the NCAAs after winning four events on the season, including the 2011 Pac-10 and NCAA West Regional titles. The squad featured three All-Americans in Lizette Salas, Sophia Popov and Lisa McCloskey. Popov, the Pac-10 individual winner, was the NGCA and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year while Salas was the Pac-10 Player of the Year. The men's squad won a pair of titles in 2011, including the Pac-10 Championship while All-Pac-10 first teamer Martin Trainer won the individual crown. USC advanced to the NCAA final for the sixth year in a row, but did not reach match play. The 2010 season was another strong one for the Trojans. The women's team, led by All-Americans Jennifer Song and Salas, finished one stroke out of first at the NCAA Championships. The squad won four events on the season, including the NCAA Central Regional title. The men's squad reached the NCAA finals and were led by T.J. Vogel, who earned Freshman All-American honors, and Steve Lim, who earned All-Pac-10 honors. In 2009, the men's and women's golf programs were among the top in the nation for the second year in a row. The women's squad finished third at the NCAA Championships after fighting for the title all tournament and Song, Salas and Belén Mozo all earned All-American honors. The men's squad featured three All-Americans in Matt Giles, Tom Glissmeyer and Tim Sluiter. The Trojans advanced past the NCAA Championships strokeplay stage into the eight-team match-play competition before falling in the quarterfinals. The 2008 season was perhaps the finest combined men's and women's campaigns in school history. The women's team won its second NCAA title, its third consecutive NCAA Regional title, its first Pac-10 title in almost two decades and featured five All-Americans (Mozo, Dewi Claire Schreefel, Paola Moreno, Salas and Stefanie Endstrasser). Moreno also won the individual Pac-10 title while USC won its final four events of the season. The men's squad came within three strokes of winning its first-ever NCAA title in As it was, USC finished third at the NCAA Championships (something USC hadn't done since 1975). USC won four tournaments on the season (all within its final seven events), including its first ever NCAA Regional championship. Troy also tied for first at the Pac-10 Championships (but fell in a playoff). Sophomores Jamie Lovemark and Rory Hie were tabbed as All-American first teamers while Glissmeyer, Sluiter and Giles all earned All-American honorable mention honors. It was the first time in school history USC featured five All-Americans. Lovemark and Hie also marked the first time USC had two All-American first teamers in one season. In 2007, the Trojan men returned to the NCAA Championships final for the fourth time in the past five years, enjoying NCAA postseason action for the 18th year in a row. Lovemark, as a freshman, became USC's third NCAA Championship individual title winner and also led USC to its 18th Pac-10 Championship while winning the conference individual crown as well. In 2006, Taylor Wood represented the Trojans at the 2006 NCAA Championships when he finished tied for 27th while competing individually. In 2005, USC made it to the NCAA Championships for the third straight season. Its sixth-place finish that year was the Trojans' best since taking fifth in In 2002, USC won its first back-to-back conference championship since It was yet another milestone in the re-establishment of USC as a national golf power. The Trojans have been moving up from the moment Schuette came to USC in That year, Schuette directed the USC men s golf team well beyond expectations, all the way to a fifth-place finish at the 1995 NCAA Championships, and he earned District VIII Coach of the Year honors (Pac-10, Big West and WCC). It was USC s highest national finish in 20 years and the eight strokes that separated USC from the championship matched the closest Troy has ever been to the national title. Then in , he led the Trojan men s team to its second consecutive Top 10 finish with a ninth-place showing at the NCAAs. And under his guidance, Brian Hull earned first-team All-American honors. Schuette was also honored by being selected to serve on the NCAA District VIII Advisory Committee. In , Schuette kept the Trojans ranked between No. 3 and No. 7 all year with three All-Americans in the lineup and eventually finished 14th at the NCAAs. After graduating six players, his young men s teams didn't qualify for the NCAA Finals in or (Jorge Corral did qualify as an individual in '99), but they rebounded nicely in , finishing fourth at the NCAA West Regional to qualify for the NCAA Finals at Opelika, Ala. Although they missed the cut at that tourney, the Trojans showed the mettle once again to compete at the highest levels of collegiate golf. In 2001 and 2002, Schuette led the Trojans to consecutive Pac-10 titles, while helping coach Hunter Mahan--the 2001 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year--and Kevin Stadler--the 2002 Pac-10 Golfer of the Year--to All-American honors. Schuette was elevated to Director of Golf at USC in Under his direction and the hard work of outstanding women's coach Andrea PAGE 10 University of Southern California

12 Gaston, the USC women's golf program has also blossomed into one of the top programs in the country. USC has made 14 straight NCAA Championship final appearances, winning the team title in 2003 and 2008, finishing among the top five seven of the past nine years and among the top 10 in 11 of the past 14 years. In 2007, junior Paola Moreno earned All-American first team honors while Mozo, as a freshman, was tabbed an All-American honorable mention pick. In 2006, Schreefel, as a sophomore, became USC's third NCAA individual title winner and joined 2006 Women's Golf Honda Award winner Irene Cho as an All-American first team selection. Schreefel was also an All-American honorable mention pick in In 2003, the Women of Troy had a magical season, winning the first-ever NCAA team golf title, senior Mikaela Parmlid won the NCAA individual title, while Cho was an honorable mention All-American selection. In 2002, the Women of Troy placed 14th at the NCAAs and both Parmlid and Becky Lucidi were named to All-American teams. In back to back summers, Candie Kung won the U.S. Women's Pub Links and Lucidi won the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. In , the USC women finished seventh again as Kung made All-American for the second season. In 2000, the Women of Troy finished fourth at the NCAAs and were led by All-American and Pac-10 Champion Kung, then a freshman. In 1999, the Women of Troy won the NCAA West Regional, then finished seventh at the NCAA Finals. Sophomore Jennifer Rosales placed fourth and was named Collegiate Player of the Year. The 1998 Women of Troy finished seventh at the NCAA Championships, but the highlight of the season was Rosales, then a freshman, winning USC s first-ever women s NCAA individual title in only her sixth collegiate tournament. Schuette has laid a great foundation for Trojan Golf. However, he views it as just that -- a foundation. Schuette feels that the opportunities for Trojan Golf are limitless, and that both the men s and women s programs will continue to grow stronger every year. In a recent annual ranking, Golf Digest ranked the USC women s golf team 3rd and the men s golf team 5th in their balanced ranking, which accounted for strength of both the academic program and the golf program. Furthermore, USC ranked No. 1 among private universities in the balanced category for men and No. 2 for women. The Trojans have created a standard of excellence both on the golf course and in the classroom. We are very serious about elevating both our programs to a championship level, Schuette said. Our goal here is to succeed at whatever we do. We are striving to continue to win Pac-10 titles and our first men's team NCAA Championship. We are also proud to say we have recently had success with former players earning both PGA and LPGA Tour cards. All this is part of our mission to become the program by which all others are measured. Our philosophy is to develop smart, aggressive competitors who are confident, independent decision makers. Schuette, 49, came to USC after six successful seasons ( ) at Pepperdine. During his tenure in Malibu, he led the Waves to four WCC crowns and was the 1993 WCC Coach of the Year and Pepperdine athletic department Coach of the Year. His teams were ranked as high as 16th in the nation and the 1993 team participated in the school s first-ever NCAA Golf Championship. Schuette recruited four of the five players on the Pepperdine team that won the 1997 NCAA championship. In 1986 and 1988, Schuette served as an assistant coach for the Waves, while gaining experience in the private sector, working as an instructor at the Santa Barbara Golf Club and the North Ranch Country Club. In 1994, he was hired as USC head coach and he quickly built the program into not only the top team in Southern California, but a national contender. One of the greatest benefits of USC is that the relationship with the players goes far beyond their years at USC. Schuette has graduated the lion's share (over 90%) of his athletes, including one Valedictorian at Pepperdine and he wants to see his players succeed at whatever career path they choose. He is proud to have former players who have chosen to pursue successful careers as doctors, lawyers, authors, coaches, stock brokers, bankers, professional golfers and even an intelligence agent. Schuette attended Santa Barbara City College, where he rapidly progressed, earning All-Western State Conference honors. He earned a scholarship to Pepperdine, serving as captain in 1984 and Schuette was an All-West Coast Conference selection in 1985 and graduated in 1986 with a bachelor s degree in communications and marketing. Schuette lives in Mar Vista. He has one son, Kyle, who is Women of Troy Media Guide PAGE 11

And so it happened, on June 24, 2008, a month after the USC women s golf team won its second NCAA title, USC senior and Colombian native Paola Moreno chatted briefly and pleasantly with President George W. Bush about the progress in her home country. The quick exchange was part of President Bush s rounds that day as he greeted various 2008 NCAA championship teams. After speaking to Moreno, the President also remarked on USC s diverse team, whose members compose a mini United Nations with players from around the globe. For USC Head Coach Andrea Gaston, the visit to the East Wing of the White House was her second such honor, the first coming after the 2003 NCAA championship. The Women of Troy s trip to Washington D.C. was the culmination of perhaps the best season in USC women s golf history. And the photos taken that day inside the White House s corridors and on the South Lawn were not just souvenirs of a trip, but the reward of a year of hard work as a team and as individuals that left Troy as the best team in the land. Before visiting the nation s capitol, USC had to travel to California s capitol for the NCAA West Regional. Playing at Lincoln Hills G.C. just outside of Sacramento, the Trojans entered as one of the country s hottest teams. They had recently won the highly competitive PING/ASU Invitational and followed that up by decimating the field at the Pac-10 Championships for its first conference crown in almost 20 years. USC remained unbeatable in Sacramento, rolling to a wire-to-wire win at the Regional and punching its ticket to New Mexico, host of the 2008 NCAA Championships. Gaston arrived in Albuquerque with arguably the deepest lineup in her 12 years at Troy, with any of five players capable of playing in the team s No. 1 slot. First there were the seniors, Dewi Claire Schreefel from The Netherlands and Paola Moreno from Colombia. Schreefel entered as a two-time All-American and the 2006 NCAA individual champion and had won two titles during the 2008 regular season. Moreno was coming off her 2007 All-American performance in which she tied for second at the NCAAs and had just won the 2008 Pac-10 individual title. Both entered the 2008 NCAA Championships having accomplished just about all they could have hoped for as a collegiate player except for winning the NCAA team crown. While not as seasoned at the NCAA level as their upperclassmen teammates, sophomores Belén Mozo, from Spain, and Stefanie Endstrasser, from Austria and freshman Lizette Salas, from Azusa, Calif., were just as capable. Mozo, an All-American honorable mention in 2007, was among the hottest players in the country entering the 2008 NCAA Championships, having finished no lower than 18th all season. Endstrasser, who helped Purdue tie for second at the 2007 NCAA Championships before transferring to USC, had just tied for third at the NCAA Regionals. And Salas, the remarkable freshman, was as steady as any player on the team, never finishing outside the top 27 all year. So out they went onto the University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course on May 20, beginning the first round on the same links as the one where they finished second to Duke at the Fall Preview. USC knew that the three-time defending NCAA champion Blue Devils, along with UCLA and Arizona State, would serve as Troy s chief rivals during the next four days. What the Trojans didn t know was the even harder opponent would be Mother Nature. The opening round weather was fair enough and USC, which had not often trailed in the previous two months, got off to another strong start. The Trojans, thanks in part to a 69 by Mozo and a 70 by Moreno, began with a first-round 4-under 284, punctuating its first day with a combined six birdies against two bogeys over the final four holes to help establish a five-stroke lead. UCLA and Auburn were tied for second while Arizona State was fourth. Duke lingered in 18th. Hatches needed to be battened down during the second round on May 21 when winds gusting upwards of 40 mph forced officials to halt action twice and prevented half the teams from finishing their rounds. The gale-force winds prompted this from Gaston: I told the girls before that we've played this course in good weather, but I wanted it to show us its teeth. Today, it showed us its jaws! However, when you re playing in a national championship, you want the tough conditions that allow the best teams to rise to the top. USC still managed one of the top scores of the round, good enough, at least, to secure a share of the lead with UCLA at 8-over 584. It was a bit of luck that USC was among the schools that completed play before the winds became so fierce that action had to be stopped. Mozo again led the way with a 71 while Endstrasser was USC s next highest finisher at 75. Due to the second-round delay, USC s third-round didn t start until midday, and the Trojans had barely loosened up before they were sent back on a break due to lightning. When play resumed, UCLA climbed in front by four strokes, but the lead was short-lived. Schreefel and Mozo helped bring USC back into first mid-way through the round while Salas and Moreno also provided steady play. The late third-round start prevented a handful of players from finishing, including Schreefel and Salas, who wrapped up their rounds the following morning. Despite the break in play, the two of them led Troy with a 72 and 73, respectively, in the third round to hold off UCLA by three shots. The final round began with what was essentially a two-team race to the finish between USC and UCLA. Troy had opened a three-stroke lead by the time all third-round play ended and while Duke would eventually close the gap some by day s end, the real story unfolded between the Trojans and the Bruins. Lightning and rain delays in the morning gave way to calm weather in the afternoon as USC, hole-by-hole, maintained a slight advantage over UCLA. Schreefel, for the second day in row, was USC s top performer and her 2- under on the front 9 helped set the tone for the day. Her putter was in top form, helping her sink a 45-foot birdie on 14 and save long pars on 15 and 16 en route to a 3-under 69. Salas turned in USC s second-best effort of the final round, a par 72, including a 2-under back 9. Her birdie on 18 all but clinched the title. Endstrasser, though she finished as USC s low player overall, turned in rounds that counted toward the Trojans overall score three out of four days, including her fourth-round 74. Moreno played steady for most of the front nine, but started to falter before the back nine. With a boost of confidence from Gaston and a reminder that the team should embrace the challenge, she quickly turned it around with birdies on 11 and 12, which helped sustain her play the remainder of the round and she finished with a counter score of 75. Mozo also finished with a 75, but still managed to remain in the mix to help keep the Bruins at bay. Mozo was actually battling for medalist honors as well as the team title. That she didn t finish first individually mattered little. Her final putt clinched the title, sending the Trojans into a jubilant celebration on the 18th green. Mozo ultimately finished fourth, Schreefel eighth, Salas tied for 15th, Moreno tied for 20th and Endstrasser tied for 34th. All earned All-American honors, marking the first time in school history USC featured a quintet of All-Americans in one season. Behind the scenes, the competitive practices and strong support from their teammates proved invaluable all season. Victoria Alimonda, from Brazil, Carolina Kim, from Canada, Shelcie Takenouchi, from Lihue, Hawaii, and Stephanie Hickerson, from Dallas, had all earned an equal share in the NCAA title. "Back in December, we had a party for the team and I had a cake made that said, `Believe in the Dream,'" Gaston said. "I told them throughout the season to believe in the dream. We talked about it all year long. And it came true. It's incredible." PAGE 36 University of Southern California
