2 NINTH ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC The Wichita Aero Club will host its ninth annual Golf Classic on Monday, July 2, It will be the first time we haven t played on a Sunday and it won t conflict with Father s Day, either. Instead, we ll have the same great course to ourselves and we ll tee off at 8 a.m. while it s still relatively cool. This should allow us to conclude the tournament with a luncheon and awards ceremony to be held in the Crown/Tapestry Room of Crestview Country Club. As always, this WAC event supports our Edward W. Stimpson and H. Dean Humphrey Scholarships and provides players with the opportunity to play on the same pristinely manicured course at Crestview Country Club that the PGA TOUR pros will have recently played during the web.com Wichita Open. The WAC Golf Classic is always fun with a Scramble format and several opportunities to take home some additional rewards! Players will compete in longest putt, longest drive and closest-tothe-pin contests and also have a chance to win a new car with a hole-in-one. We re bringing back last year s popular Scholarship Shootout that provides every golfer with a chance to win a substantial cash prize and add a bonus to the scholarship fund at the same time! The 7th and 17th Holes will be special stops for additional fun with margarita stands for an icy cold drink and a visit with fellow golfers. Once again this year, Josh Cook Professional Golf will provide swing analyses on the tee at #18.

3 19 HOLES OF FUN AND NETWORKING Playing one of the midwest s most challenging and popular Country Club courses which annually hosts touring professionals is a great way to gauge the quality of your own game. You ll get to compete on a layout those PGA web.com pros say is a true test of their skills -and one of their favorites on the tour. Following the conclusion of the day s rounds, golfers enjoy the 19th Hole Awards Reception. We will also watch the qualifiers in the scholarship shootout vie for the lucrative cash prize at the 18th hole. It s a chance to win a big prize...and make an equally significant contribution to the WAC scholarships, too.

4 The WAC Golf Classic s Scramble format makes the tournament fun and exciting for golfers at all levels, from beginners to low-handicappers.

5 WICHITA AERO CLUB EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES The Wichita Aero Club continues to promote aviation education and support aviation-related training and career development by offering scholarships and financial assistance to aviation-related institutions and students. The recipients of our scholarships are future aviation leaders with a local connection. Proceeds from yearly Trophy Gala and Golf Classic events allowed the Club to establish a scholarship fund in Currently, the Wichita Aero Club and Wichita Community Foundation collaborate on the awarding of two scholarships: the Edward W. Stimpson Scholarship and H. Dean Humphrey Scholarship. Both awards are designed for collegiate or technical school students who have already established an aviation-related major or career path. Both grants originally provided $2,000, but in 2016 we increased the awards to $5,000 each. While the Stimpson scholarship targets students who may wish to pursue engineering, technical, or flight related careers, the Humphrey scholarship is designed to underwrite the educational pursuits of students who are seeking a career in administration, communication or non-technical disciplines at aviation-related businesses. Both scholarships are designed to benefit students with a connection to Wichita or Kansas; they can be students at local institutions, graduates of local high schools who are attending colleges, universities or technical schools in other locations, employees who are concurrently enrolled in school, family members of employees, or interns of Wichita or Kansas-based aviation companies. The Wichita Aero Club accepts gifts and donations toward its educational initiatives and works with the Wichita Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization to administer its scholarship program and provide appropriate recognition to donors.
