Stockhands is a place where human and animal relationships can flourish through effective and creative equine assisted therapy. Our Story Stockhands Horses for Healing is a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt therapeutic riding center located in Delaware, Ohio. We started as a small barn with the vision of giving every person the opportunity to heal alongside an equestrian friend. We have since grown into a multi-program barn that continues to change the lives of our participants. Our specialized programs are designed with specific needs of our participants in mind which improve core strength, coordination, flexibility, confidence and calmness in adults and children. Stockhands Horses for Healing continues to encourage healthy recovery for our participants each and every day. 1

3 Our Programs Lessons Program First Responder and Veteran s Program Our Lessons Program provides the oppurtunity for riders to groom, drive and ride the horses at our stables. Each lesson is 30 minutes long and allows the rider to gain experience around horses. The major benefit of this program is the relationship that is formed between the rider and the horse. The building of that relationship can be calming and anxiety reducing for the riders. The physical benefits of the lessons also include building core strength, balance, and coordination. Our Equine Assisted Learning Program gives different groups the opportunity to learn the responsibilities that go into taking care of a horse. This program typically is for school groups, boy and girl scout troops, and adult groups with disabilities. These groups are walked through the grooming and feeding process while also learning the basic anatomy of the horses at our barn. They are shown horsemanship skills and get to experience life at a stable. Equine Assisted Learning Program Our First Responders and Veteran s Program are free programs offered to our local heroes. The activities offered include learning all aspects of horsemanship while engaging in comradery and fellowship. We offer a healing environment and the opportunity to help in the healing journey of others with the support of equine companionship. Our Addiction Recovery Program is beneficial to those who suffer from Substance Abuse Disorder. Participants are exposed to social, emotional, cognitive and behavioral therapies throughout the day. This program provides a structured environment which allows the participants to build stability within their sometimes chaotic and unpredictable lives. We have everyone within the program participate in morning meditation, teambuilding activities and equine assisted therapy. This program receives participants through a partnership with a local Ohio treatment center. Addiction Recovery Program 2

4 Our Impact I first came to a Stockhands Veteran s Night in March of 2018, not knowing what to expect. I was terrified to be in the arena and go anywhere near a horse, much less ride one. When I met Izzy the horse, there was a connection. Seven months later, I showed Izzy in the independent Heroes on Horses class at The All American Quarter Horse Congress. We placed 4th and I never thought my PTSD would allow me to do something like this. Thanks to Stockhands, our Veterans group, the volunteers and especially the horses, I have been given a new perspective on life. - Matt, Army Veteran and First Responder 3 My son Trent has been given an opportunity at Stockhands unlike any other. His weekly riding brings him the type of joy a mother dreams of being able to see on their child s face. - Teri, Trent s Mother Stockhands is not a place or location, it is a group of amazing people who have dedicated their lives to helping others. 5 Running of the Roses Benefit Event Details Running of the Roses Benefit is a Kentucky Derby watch party with all proceeds going directly towards Stockhands Horses for Healing. All tickets sold help Stockhands to feed the horses, provide proper safety equipment for the riders, pay our instructors and continue to provide therapeutic services to our community. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we invite the entire community to join in on the fun. Everyone enjoys Mint Julips, the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, while walking around and enjoying the exciting atmosphere. The Kentucky Derby attire makes the attendees feel like their actually at Churchill Downs Racetrack. 7 Other Sponsorship Options Rose Sponsor $55 Everyone knows that the roses are a significant part of the Kentucky Derby. You can sponsor one of the rose s that will be placed throughout the event. If your organization can t make it the day of the derby, this is a great option for you to still support. You may buy as many Rose Sponsorships as you or your organization would like. Horseshoe Sponsor Monetary Donations Stockhands Horses for Healing is a nonprofit that relies on charitable giving to continue operating. If your organization would like to make a monetary donation, then becoming a Horseshoe Sponsor is a great option. All donations go towards continuing to make our programs and facilities the best that they can be. Silent Auction Sponsor Item Donations Throughout our whole event we will have our Silent Auction Table for our attendees to peruse. This is a great way to showcase products or services your organization offers. The baskets will specify which organization donated the products within. This allows for your organization to be recognized for your generous donation. If you would like to be a sponsor you can drop off your items or we would be more than happy to come pick them up. 6
