WINTER DRESSAGE SERIES For this winter, the Riding Club has decided to hire the Indoor and Outdoor school at Moulton College. This has enabled the club to use the facilities at Moulton College to trial holding some unaffiliated winter dressage shows. As there are usually no shows held during the winter months, this will be a very new venture for RFRC and the success of these events will determine whether or not further shows will be organised during the winter in future years. The decision was made to trial a dressage series as there is currently no unaffiliated dressage held at Moulton and unaffiliated show jumping is part of Moulton College s current diary of events throughout the winter. For this reason, Moulton has been secured to hold some evening show jumping training sessions. Further details and dates will be made available shortly, together with schedules and booking forms. TROPHY AWARDS FOR DRESSAGE Following the committee decision earlier this year to introduce a second dressage trophy, one to be awarded to competitors for points earned at restricted level and one for open level, a problem with this system has been identified. As the maximum number of points awarded to restricted combinations is 15, the increased number of dressage tests being held this year has meant that this will be several people who have earned the maximum number of points. It would consequently become difficult to decide which combination should be awarded the trophy. Therefore after much discussion, there will only be one dressage trophy awarded for dressage, this will be the Connaught Ranger Trophy as previously awarded. The accumulated points list has already been updated and posted on the web site so that members can check out how many points have been awarded to date. 2

2 HELPERS I am disappointed with the number of text messages I send out to people requesting help for a particular show and get no response whatsoever. I realise that a particular date may not be convenient for you, but a response would be nice. By now EVERY member of the club should have put themselves forward to help at a show. Several still have not done this and do not have the courtesy to contact me. You may notice on the website that some people have a volunteer date of 31/12/2009. There is not a competition on that day, these are the people I have spoken to who cannot help, for whatever reason, or have volunteered someone else to do their duty. If you helped at any of the area competitions please let me know, I do not have a record of these events. HUNTER TRIAL QUALIFIER 11 TH October 2009 The Hunter Trial will be the last Area qualifier to take place this year. Details and entry forms will be on the website as soon as they are available. There is a possibility that some show jumping will also be required this year. DRESSAGE QUALIFIER Results for the Area Dressage held on 28 th July at Wittering Riding Academy as detailed.
