4 SHOW RULES 1. All disputes not covered by the Society s Rules and Regulations will be settled by the Committee and their decision will be final, without any appeal to law. 2. No stock or exhibit can be admitted to competition unless an entry form, properly completed and signed, together with the correct entry fees, has been received by the Secretary, on or before the time specified in the Schedule. Should a false declaration be made, the Exhibitor shall forfeit all prizes and be prohibited from exhibiting at any future Show of the Society. Only show jumping entries taken on the day. 3. All stock and exhibits shown for prizes at the Show must be the property of the Exhibitor, and must have been in their ownership for not less than one lunar month previous to the date of the show except show jumping. 4. Brood mares must have produced a foal this year or to be certified to be in foal. If a mare has cast her foal, the owner must produce a certificate from a Veterinary Surgeon. 5. In all cases prizes will be awarded at the Judge s discretion. 6. Each animal must be in the charge of one person, and no person will be allowed to untie or remove any animal from its stand during the time the Show is open, except by permission of the Chief Steward of the Section. 7. When any conditions apply to the winning of a prize, such prize will not be handed over until such conditions have been fulfilled, and where necessary proof of this has been produced to the Society. 8. Stock and other exhibits must arrive on the Show Ground at the times set out under the respective sections. 9. Notice of objection, together with deposit of 15, must be made in writing and lodged with the General Secretary. No objections will be entertained after the Show is closed. Where an objection fails the deposit will be forfeited. 10. No distinguishing mark will be allowed on any animal until judged, the Society s number affixed to the animal /rider /leader will be the only mark of distinction. 11. No exhibitors, or other person unless authorised by the Committee, will be allowed to accompany the Judges when discharging their duties. 11A. No Bull over 30 months to be handled or controlled by a person under 18 years or over 70 years. 12. Bulls over one year must be secured by a Halter and Ring. 13. Exhibitors must not consign their stock to the Society or any of its Officials and the Society will not be responsible for any freights charges for carriage or any delivery costs. 14. If any prize money, due to an exhibitor, is not received at the expirations of 31days, the Section Secretary should be notified and full particulars stated. 15. The Committee reserves the right to increase or change the Judges when necessary without notice. When times permits, such changes will appear in the Catalogue. 16. Complimentary Exhibitors' admission tickets will be issued to exhibitors making entries totalling 3.00 and upwards. 17 Exhibits in Dog and Rabbit Section are governed by their respective Club Rules. 18 Except where otherwise stated, all Challenge Trophies will be held until 1st July 2019 unless recalled earlier by the Society. They must be returned in a sound, clean condition, or if damaged, be repaired to the satisfaction of the Society. Trophy Holders are asked to arrange insurance for any trophies they hold. 4

5 19. In any class with less than 3 entries, the committee reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate such class. If cancelled entry fee will be returned. 20. Exhibitors must have full Public Liability Insurance as they are wholly responsible for any damage or injury caused by their livestock or machinery. The Show does not accept any responsibility or liability for any such damage or injury. Furthermore the Show expects all animal handlers under the age of 16 to be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult when moving or showing animals at the Show. 21. The Society will make the best arrangements in their power for the accommodation and safety of the Public, Exhibitors, Animals and articles sent for exhibiting. The Society will not be responsible for any death or personal injury caused to any person using the Society s facilities save in so far such death or personal injury results from the negligence of the Society; furthermore the Society will not be responsible for any loss of damage howsoever caused to any property of the Public or Exhibitors. 22. All entries must be catalogued, except show jumping. 23. No substitutions. 24. Fences erected by Show Staff are there for Health & Safety reasons and should not be moved or tampered with. 25. The Committee may refuse any entry at their discretion without giving any reason. 26. Information give to this show will be treated in confidence in accordance with The Data Protection Act, except Prize Winners names will be published. Health and Safety Guide Lines Cleveland Show In the event of an accident, involving competitors or visitors to the Show, Stewards, Medics UK, Honorary Veterinary Surgeon and Police are on hand to assist. Everything reasonably practical has been done to ensure health safety and welfare at the event. Access to and from the site and Show rings must be kept clear. Visitors and competitors must heed the requests made by the Stewards, in regard to parking and movement of animals about the site. The Society reserves the right to exclude any person who does not comply. FIRST AID First Aid available from the Medical Post. FIRE Fire Brigade is on site. LIQUID GAS AND ELECTRICITY. All portable electrical and gas appliances should have been tested by a competent person. This is the user s responsibility. WATER. Water is very limited. Bowsers will be near Goats, Horse, Cattle. TOILETS AND WASHING FACILITIES are sited all around the Park. Please leave them as you would like to find them. Please take particular care of children and dogs, neither of which should be left unattended on the show field. Whilst the Show Committee have taken every possible measure to prevent accidents on the show field, we respectfully advise all competitors and spectators that all animals are unpredictable and everyone should make an effort not to upset or frighten them, which might result in an accident or injury. 5

8 COLOURED HORSES AND PONIES Judge: Mr. S. Kerby, Houghton-Le-Spring. (Judging: 9.00 am. Ring 4) Entry Fee: 5.00 per entry. FORSTER SHEILD for Champion. CHAPS (UK) This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society, (UK). Affiliation No Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to qualify both owner and rider/exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for the appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 30th Aug-1st September Shows held on or after date of Championship Show will count as 2019 qualifiers. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers 6-9. For full rulings and information on competition/ qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook; or visit for rulings. All stallions 4 years and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear stallion ID discs in the ring without exception. 9 RIDING HORSE & ROR CLASSES Judge: Miss. S. Osborne, Northallerton and Ms. C. Hazeldine, Gainsborough. (Judging: Classes :30am in Ring 4) Entry Fee: 5.00 per entry. All horses 4 years or over ALOCIN TROPHY will be awarded to the winner of Class 10. ERIC WILSON CUP to the winner of Class 11. JOHN CLARK TROPHY to the winner of Class 13. SWIFT CUP for winner of Class 14. CHAMPIONSHIP ROSETTE and RESERVE First prize winners in Classes inclusive to compete for this award. Special rosette for any exhibitor riding side saddle in classes This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on 8th 12th August The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. Class 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 10. Best Combination Horse over 153cm Rider any age Novice Hunter over 153cms. Rider any age horse not to have Won a prize of 25 or more. 12. Open Hunter over 153cms. Rider any age Class 12 is a qualifier for the Black Country Saddles/Equifest Ridden Hunter championship. 13. Riding Horse any height.. Rider any age Class 13 is a qualifier for the Nupafeed/Equifest Riding Horse Championship. The RoR Tattersalls, Scottish Thoroughbred Show Series Qualifier Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first three go forward to the championship at the Royal Highland Show All entries MUST be registered with the ROR and have RACED in GB. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15years or over. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses to be ridden by the judge. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in this series. 14. RoR Thoroughbred 4 years or over, Riders 15 years or over Class These two classes are non affiliated. 1 st 2 nd 3 rd 15. Ex Race Horse Ridden classes, Thoroughbred, Mare or Gelding. 3 years old or over, any height. Rider over 15 Years of age. This class is open to thoroughbreds, ex race Horses that have raced only. Racing injuries are ignored. Not Affiliated to ROR. 16. Ex Race Horse In Hand classes, Thoroughbred, Mare or Gelding. 3 years old or over, any height. Rider over 15 Years of age. Registered in their approved Pure Bred Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh Sections A & B. Rider any age. (Please see Rule 7 of the current P(UK) year book). 1st, 2nd and 3rd to qualify for the P(UK) Gold Medal Series M&M Ridden Pony Of The Year Spring Classic. Classes 26 & 27 are Qualifiers for Equifest Mountain & Moorland Open Ridden Championship. 1st & 2nd places in classes to compete for the M&M Ridden Championship. Ponies U.K. Rule: Stallions not be led or ridden by a Child under 14yrs. Class Ridden Championship, followed by over all M/M Championship. 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each qualifying class will qualify. Please note we now hold V.H.S. classes, and you may be eligible to enter if the pony or horse is over 15 years old. This is a direct qualifier for the Veteran Horse of the Year Show This Show is a qualifier for the NPS Area 4 Northern Breeders in Hand Supreme Championship, sponsored by SUPREME PRODUCTS. The Champion and Reserve from the Riding Pony Breeding, Hunter Pony Breeding and Mountain & Moorland In Hand will qualify for the final to be held on Monday 27th August 2018 at the NPS Area 4 Summer Show. Qualifiers do not have to be members of the NPS. 12

13 WELSH PONIES Judge: Mrs. J. Devenney, Clitheroe. (Judging: 9.00 a.m. Ring 3) Entry Fee: 5.00 per entry. ALL ENTRIES IN THIS SECTION MUST BE ENTERED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE BREED SOCIETY S STUD BOOK AND NUMBER GIVEN ON ENTRY FORM. The WAITWITH Perpetual Challenge Trophy for Champion Section A. The ADDISON Perpetual Challenge Trophy for Champion B. This Show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on 8th 12th August The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. 1st, 2nd, 3rd placed will qualify for the Gold Medal Series - see under Mountain and Moorland Section. Two Highest exhibits not already qualified will qualify for Spillers/Equifest M&M Championship. Section A 28. B The Welsh Pony and Cob Society offer their Bronze Medals for the Champion or reserve Welsh Section A and Champion or reserve Welsh Section B as per WPCS rules. The pony s name to be entered and the card signed by an official. A pony can only win ONE rosette in a season, Championship A then B then Over All Champion. The Champion and Reserve will qualify for the NPS Area 4 Northern Breeders Final to be held at the NPS Area 4 North of England Show on Monday 27th August Entry to the final is free. Ponies must be named on the entry form and in the catalogue if one is produced. Society rosettes must only be given to ponies registered with the Society or eligible for registration (i.e. foals) Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the Show. All entire males aged 2 years and over must display a stallion disc. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handlers classes. Children under 14 yrs old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In-hand classes. Children under 12 yrs old on the day of the show may not show entire males in ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 yrs or under in In-hand classes. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring. Hard hats must be worn by all exhibitors, irrespective of age, in ridden classes. In ridden Classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the ring, both pony and rider must leave the ring, rider dismounted, and take no further part.
