3 Tibon s Goju Ryu Fighting Arts Dojo Obon Festival Demo August 6 th Saturday 3:30p 4:00pm Buddhist Church Shimizu Drive by Pixie Woods Just wanted to let all of our Tibon s Goju Ryu Organization we are having a Tibon s Goju Ryu Karate Demonstration on August 6 th Saturday from 3:30pm to 4:00pm at the Buddhist Church during their annual Obon Festival. The location is on Shimizu Drive just down the street from Pixie Woods. If you like Japanese food, cultural art, Taiko Drummers, and Martial Arts come out and support and see your dojo demonstrate our way of Karate. Zoe Harrison Needs your help! Zoë and I are here at St. JUDE, Memphis Tennessee. Her tumor is intertwined on the back end of the pituitary gland. Craniopharyngioma is a very rare benign tumor that grows on the pituitary glad. It would be very difficult to do another surgery due to the location. It is extremely risky and important brain tissue surrounding it would be damaged. Zoë would not be the same. We opted for proton therapy here at St. Jude the treatment is approximately 8-10 weeks. Follow up appointment's every 3 months. I've had several people ask how they could help so I am creating this page for anyone who would like to help with the medical and personal expenses. Some of you know that I am on leave from work however I will be off work a few of these weeks unpaid as I will run out of paid leave and will have exhausted sick and vacation. Zoë's treatment here is 8-10 weeks. (I have 6 weeks paid) I used the other 6 weeks in March with her first tumor. Any amounts are much appreciated and know this is not easy for me to humble myself and set my pride aside. I do not like to ask for help from anyone but this is bigger than my pride. Thank you again, the support and prayers are amazing. Our faith is strong and I believe God has this in his hands. He gives us strength! Oh Lord, lead me, guide me and walk beside me! Run, hide and fight. This course is designed for the average civilian with no martial arts experience. The student will also learn concepts dealing with survival mindset, improvised weapons usage, tactics, emergency casualty evacuation and casualty care plus much more! This 3 hour class will be a dynamic courses utilizing role playing and active scenarios. This course will be taught by Sensei Justin Love Sr. 3rd degree international certified black belt in Uchiage-Kai Goju Ryu with 24 years experience. Sensei Justin also is a 15 year veteran of the California Highway Patrol and instructs Law Enforcement Officers in active shooter response tactics and tactical casualty care. Sensei Justin is a veteran of the U.S. Marines (active duty) and trained with the U.S. Navy SEALS & other top federal/ state law enforcement agencies. Sensei Justin has developed the current active shooter protocol response for the Stockton CHP Office and other State of California facilities. Sensei Justin was inducted into the 2015 class of the World Masters Martial Arts Hall of Fame. "Hard" generally refers to closed-hand attacks. "Soft" generally describes open-handed and circular motions used in defense or grappling, as well as the aggressive throwing of cotton balls. To say that Sensei Tibon is an expert in this form of Okinawan karate might be an understatement. He estimates that he's trained hundreds of athletes who went on to win national and international competitions, and his own trophy case isn't exactly lacking, either. Sensei Tibon has also lent his martial arts and instruction skills to an array of outreach organizations. On the mat at one of his studio's multiple locations, however, Sensei TIbon directs his focus completely to the lesson at hand, which can be anything from a weapons class or beginner classes for kids aged 4 to 12.
