World Team Trials in Reno will be a new story. The current and future Referees and Judges of the USANKF of Northern California, Tiger Claw Elite, and Tibon s Goju Ryu Annual In House. We work hard in bringing one of the top WKF PKF Referees Sensei Chuck Sweigart, who is rated one of the top seniors world referees to teach our certification program so we can truly have a Referee and Judges Corps that are trained to select the best athletes in competition. This creates a full staff of trained Officials including a Leadership development program for our younger students can learn the rules to compete by, but also gain the experience to become future Judges. 5 Sensei Brian Embry 3 rd Degree Black Belt Leaving to Arizona to Audi Automovitive Certification School on Scholarship after Graduation from Nissan with Directors Honors Going Away Potluck Party for Sensei Brian March 1 st Saturday 7:00pm after Tokubetsu Brother Sensei Cristian Embry Takes Over Brother s Teaching Position at Tokubetsu 1 and MMA Class on Sundays Sensei Cristian Embry a Sr. 2 nd Degree Black Belt rated top 3 in the USA in his Black Belt Division by Karate Nation Grassroots Work Shop Video - Sensei Brian Embry makes us proud of being a champion as a person, instructor, competitor, student, friend, brother, and leader. He moves on in life to chase his passion with foreign cars, and wins a scholarship to a prestigious certification school in Arizona for Audi. Brian will spend several months there in highlevel training, and then be assigned to a Audi Dealership somewhere in the country. We are hoping here in Norhtern California so we can still have him at the dojo, so our fingers our crossed. In the meantime his famous brother Sensei Cristian Embry will step into his brother s shoes and take over Tokubetsu 1 class and the MMA class on Sunday s. Both Embry brothers have both been on Team USA for several years, and have won medals at the international level for USA. We will miss Sensei Brian. 6 Sensei Demytryk s Road To Recovery When Sensei D suffered his life changing injury, we did not know if he would even survive. Family and friends waited for weeks while he was in a comma in ICU in Modesto. When he awoke he had no feeling on the right side of his body. With the help of many of our dojo family members like Pete Suanders, Barbara Nava, his uncle Pete, sister Makayla, Sensei Tibon, and now Dr. Blaine Kingsbury. Thank you to all of the parents and students who came and suppported Sensei Ronny and his wife Marisol s baby shower. It was hosted by Tibon s Goju Ryu Karate by Yvonne Tibon and the support and help of Courtney Embry, and Curtis Shaw for helping set up and working to make this a great event for family, friends, and baby Elias George Guzman We can t wait until little Elias is running the dojo floor with CJ Sensei Eliza s son, and JJ Sensei Justin s son!
