3 WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT: ALFI PRESTIPINO I would like to take this opportunity to make a few thanks and let you all know how much we managed to raise on our recent Auction Night. Thanks to all the people that attended and bought items we managed to raise a whopping $17,299 which is almost double the amount from our 2009 auction night! The money made for the club will help concrete the trolley bay area and the spectators viewing area. 4 This month in Karting: A successful night at the Auction night with over $17000 raised. Thank you to all the companies / people that donated to the night and all the people who attended and supported the event. All the money raised goes back into the club for improvements for everyone s benefit. A great night! Congratulations to Jordan Caruso on winning the Queensland Midgets title in Warwick. 5 Gippsland Go Kart Club Inc. 12/07/2011. The general meeting of the Gippsland Go-Karts was held at our clubrooms, on Tuesday 12 th July, and was declared opened at 7.30 pm by President Graeme Monds. Present: Anita & Barry Stratton, Graeme & Jeanette Monds, Glenn Wall. Geoff Medew, Alfi Prestipino Simon Pooley, Phil Lane, Cameron & Tony Correa, Sharon Lowater & John Schena. Apologies: New Members: Minutes from last Meeting. Treasurers Report: Business Arising. Delegates Peter Aitken and Daniel Inglis. Our club would to welcome new members, Aiden, Belinda, Craig, Jarrod, Nicholas Castle. Terry Gammon, Andy, Billy, Jake, Sarah Wheatley, & Cameron Correa. The minutes from the last meeting were read by members present, Moved by Jenny Monds and 2 nd by Glenn Wall that they be true and correct. Treasurer Phil gave his report, Discussed the monthly report going OK, Phil was thrilled with the result of the auction night. After everything was paid the club made $ A super effort. Phil wanted his remarks to be recorded. To Alfi sincere congratulations on a fantastic job, with all his organizing getting all the prizes, and to his helpers Glenn, Sharon, Lorraine, Carolyn and Geoff Medew a big Thank You. NIL. The delegates report was given by Graeme Monds. State President: VKA trailer is currently at the wrappers DPE nearly finished the karts. All should be completed in a couple of weeks away. Calder Park Event: advertisement of promoting a race meeting at Calder park this is sanctioned by the AKA and officials and competitors need to be aware that there will be NO AKA insurance for this event, They need to be very cautious in participating in this event. State Delegate: Committee s conference for officials, Track, Technical and administration are to be held in Sydney at the end of June. These agenda items will come back to clubs for their voting to go to the AKA AGM. Treasurers Financial Report: Alan presented the financial report to the delegates present. State to look at fee s for VKA need more speakers for the meetings when clubs hook up by skype, as it is hard for the delegates to hear everything that is said. And maybe some phones.?? State Track: When using lights at flag points clubs need to look where they are situated and alter if need be. Agenda items for meeting 14 th July, Item 1: Discussion on race meetings for 2012 and also Victorian open championships date required for ratification. Venue: Geelong. Date: 2 nd weekend in February Long weekend in March???? February Geelong has a festival on the 2 nd weekend. Long weekend in March there is no event on. Moved: Geelong. Victorian Open Championships to be the 9/10/11 th March, Second: Go Kart Club of Victoria. Carried. Item 2: The Histonic Karting Victorian club presented the required paperwork for the application for admittance into the VKA Moved: Bendigo. That the Histonic Karting victoria club be approved to be part of the Victorian Karting Association. Second: Gippsland. Carried. General Business: VKA Junior camp to be held on the 26/27 th September 2011 at Oakleigh kart track.

7 Race Our sincere congratulations to John Schena on winning the Senior National Super Heavy which Report: was held in Coffs Harbour on the last long weekend. John gave his report, one of the wettest Friday and Saturday little rain PM, Sunday very wet. Silver C/C at briefing asked the drivers to do the right thing and they would get through all event and laps. Saturday 3 pre finals on Saturday. Finals reduced to 12 laps on Sunday. Lot of drivers went home on late Saturday, by Sunday morning a lot had gone home, they don t race in the rain. Queensland State Titles: These titles were held at the Warwick track. Our congratulations go out to Jordan Caruso who won the Midget Class. General Business: Graeme went round the members present and asked if they had any general business, Simon Pooley asked about working bee. Glenn to answer. John Schena. Sealcoat, get the man down to give us a quote re resurfacing the track. They have done Air strips, and some work at Sandown. ( Andrew Beasley). John to get in touch with Andrew, John would also like to have Glenn Wall with him when he comes down. John also mentioned about a shelter over the grid area, low structure like they have up at Warwick Qld. track. Graeme to have a look at the structure in question when he and Jeanette go up there in 2 weeks time, and Graeme will give his opinion at the next meeting.` Sharon congratulated Alfi on a great effort at the auction night. About 50 entries so far for the C & D grade titles. Got karters coming from Tasmania and Canberra. Members if you have not entered and you wish to do so, please do it soon so that Sharon can everything all info in the system, so that she does not have any trouble. You all have Sharon s phone number if not here it is Geoff Medew asked about the report from council for canteen. Alfi will give the report. Jeanette Monds. Please unhook the trailer from car and move the car away, move back 3 lanes, so that everyone can be on the stones and level ground. NO cars in the pits even round the fence at any time. Glenn Wall. Working Bee to wet to remove stewards room at the present, will use entry room for C grades. Will remove stewards room during our break, if not sooner? As it is on the books to do. We will need help when that project gets undertaken. Everyone will be informed. A discussion was held, Glenn mentioned that we have a good look at what we really want to do, around and to the track. More discussion on this matter at future meetings. C Grade Titles. Sup Regs are approved and are now out, on the internet and some in the entry office. We have sponsors for the titles they pay, accounts have been sent out to the people concerned. Some have already sent their cheques in. We have 4 more that sponsor material goods, Cool Aqua, Meca Homes, and Dom Louie they sponsor the shirts for the winners, and Michael Downing is donating caps. Thanks to all the sponsors who once again give us their support. Aaron. Land meeting. He has the use of the club room, he is doing our web page, so he has the room for nothing. After their last meeting Aaron gave use a donation of $100. Alfi Prestipino: Showed us the shirts for the winners, they are very nice. C grade. Alfi gave the members present the report from the council, we have to have quite a few things done to come up to the new health regulations. We need to get a new frig to replace the 4 door one, Moved by Jeanette Monds and 2 nd Glenn Wall that we go ahead and buy the new frig. Also we need a double sink for washing and drying largest utensils. Alfi is looking into all of this. Graeme Monds. Due to time restraint placed on the club by the Latrobe City, the club authorizes the Committee to go ahead to get the kitchen up to standard in accordance with the report issued by

8 Latrobe City and the Health Act. Moved Glenn Wall 2 nd Jeanette Monds. Graeme & Jeanette Monds donated $ to help towards the costs of the canteen renovations. Many thanks to both of them for their generous donation. Any mother willing to help in the canteen for the titles 6/7 th August, please see Alfi, even if it just for a couple of hours so that the ones that are there all day can have a rest, all help would be greatly appreciated. Either day. We also need help from our members who are not racing that weekend, to help doing things at the track, e.g. marking tyres, retrieving karts and general help, so that everything goes smoothly. If you can help you can ring Anita on state what day and how long, so we will need plenty of help please. DO NOT FORGET THAT THIS RACE MEETING IT IS THE INTER CLUB MEET. BAIRNSDALE IS COMING DOWN FOR THE RETURN VISIT. HOPE TO SEE ALL OUR DRIVERS RACING ON THE 31 ST July. C & D GRADE TITLES: THERE WILL BE NO EARLY MARKING OFF YOUR PIT AREA. THIS WILL BE DONE ON THE THURSDAY? FRIDAY. IF THERE ARE ANY DOWN THEY WILL BE PULLED UP SO THAT THE GRASS CAN BE MOWED. WE HAVE A PIT MARSHALL THAT DOES THE MARKING OUT, AND DOES A GREAT JOB, EVERYONE HAS ENOUGH ROOM. THANK YOU. Members remember to keep reading the Notice Board with new addendums, they will be of interest to every driver and pit crew. To help the girls in the canteen, if you would like something special for your lunch e.g. Soup. Sandwiches or Salads etc, if you have any dietary needs, would you please give them your order, so they can get them ready and it will make it easier on them. Thank You.
