3 This Month in Karting: G Day, Missed August Club Day, so I only have the results of the day, but I would say looking at the results that everyone had a good weekend. Remember the Annual General Meeting will be held on 6 th October 8pm start at the club rooms. It would be good if you as a member can turn up and support your club. Also there will be change by July 1, 2010 all karters will be required to have an AMB transponder fitted to their kart in order to compete. General Meeting.8 th September, The general meeting of the Gippsland Go-Karts was held at our clubrooms, on Tuesday 8 th September and was declared opened at 8.02 pm by President Graeme Monds. Minutes from last Meeting:The minutes from the July meeting was moved by Jeannette Monds and 2 nd by Scott Rae, that they be true and correct.

4 Treasurers Report:The report was given by treasurer Phil Lane. It was a abbreviated one, but the club is going OK. Delegates Report:The delegates report was given by Marj McKinnon. A discussion on Transponders. Available through State Office, everyone will need one, you will have to tell Graeme or Anita and they will be ordered, you have to pay for them when you order them. Please do not order them yourself, it has to go through the club. Thanks. Dave spoke on the Tyre Testing about a fortnight away. Hope to develop a tester that will be used at the tracks. MEMO TO ALL CLUBS: (Re Tyre treated tyres). Must be done properly with a Govometer etc. Clubs be prepared you will be paying. NOT CHEAP TO TEST. X 30 Motor now legal for restricted, can be used this year in Leopard with 5kgs. extra.but Not at State or National Titles. Junior Development school 21 st /22 nd September. If you are interested you can get all the Info off the internet, there are 4 pages about it. South West Club (Cobden) got the 2010 Victorian Closed. Governance not sure where it is heading at this stage the answer will come to a head on the 21 st August. Item Race Calendar continued discussions. Discussion on promoters holding events for 2010 their event should be included in the calendar for approval so that we don t have the same issue that we have been having and that their meetings can be approved at AKA level when they are holding a stand a lone Nationals. This will also allow other States to keep the dates in mind when setting their race calendars. Albury Wodonga Kart Club to be included into the Golden City Power series 19/20 th June Moved Mildura. Mildura requested an open meeting to be held on Saturday 27 th February as a day/night meeting. Second Wimmera. Carried.

6 Item 4. Victorian Open State Championships discussion on the future direction Go Kart Club of Victoria Re address in 2010 for 2012 and onwards. Race Reports: Hamilton. 4 th Rd. Country series. Entries dropped. Good racing, Windy week end. GKCV Todd Road. Bad weather and very windy. Tents all over the place, 273 entries. Good race meeting. GVKC Karters from Gippsland attended. Good racing and good weather. Race reports was moved by all present. Congratulations to any of our karters who won or got a place. General Business:South West lapboards approx. $600 for 2. Kevin going to see Russell White next Thursday at meeting re lapboards. No result from the tyre testing. More discussion about the transponders. Kevin spoke about karters and tyres. Please be very careful what you do, get some expert opinion, ask Kevin. Hall hire: Alfi bought up about hiring of our clubrooms to members. There was a discussion, and it was carried by all members present, that the charge is $100 hire, and $100 bond. If you wish to hire the clubrooms please get in contact with Anita, and she will book it in for you, so we have a record. Speakers: Members please leave the speakers alone, they are there for everyones use, they are being turned upside down and the wet weather is getting inside. Members need them so they can hear the broadcast and messages. Thank You IMPORTANT; You are no longer allowed to renew your licence on the Saturday morning of Club day and expect to race, it has to be done a week before, as it has to be into the computer bank by the Wednesday before club day. Give Wayne a ring a arrange a meeting with him to do the licence/s. This will be for everyones benefit, no one will miss out on racing. Things to be done at the track: before the 2010 season starts, and we need the members help. 1. Move the stewards office, in January. 2. The scales shed has been designed and so has the tech shed, building on those will be starting anytime soon. 3. Making a spectators viewing area. 4. Viewing area. 2 platforms stand. Near the old stewards shed. 5. The grid, have a different shelter for the grid marshall, so that he/she can have some protection,and a place to keep their paperwork. 6. Higher fence between trolley bay and scales. Someone will be hurt the way karters throw their trolley or stand. 7. Track and tyres. Will report in next lot of minutes when the work will be starting and the working bees, so please come and help, it is for everyones benefit, and the track will be great, so please give us some of your time.

7 Our AGM is being held on 6 th October, 2009 commencing at 8pm.For the elections everyone who holds a position or doing a job, please be there, so we can have a straight run with the elections, and we do not have to run around for the person/s concerned. Thank You. In the next lot of minutes we will be telling you about our breakup after the last days racing. Members do not forget that we are going to Bairnsdale in October for the interclub day. Please keep reading the notice board, as there are always new addendums that is of interest to all drivers. Anyone wishing to order their lunches before they start racing, eg. Sandwiches, salads, soup if you could order them before 9.30am, that would be great help to the girls in the canteen. Thank You. 14 RULES OF THE GIPPSLAND GO KART CLUB Absolutely Must Be Adhered to. Failure will mean Cancellation of membership 1 MIDGETS & ROOKIES CAN PRACTICE TOGETHER. 2 JUNIORS MUST PRACTICE BY THEMSELVES. 3 SENIOR CLUBMAN, ROTAX & LEOPARD DRIVERS (Maximum 20 KARTS! ) CAN PRACTICE TOGETHER. 4 ABSOLUTLY NOBODY IS TO STAND ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRACK WHILE KARTS ARE ON THE TRACK. 5 NO REPAIR WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT TO KARTS ON THE TRACK. YOU MUST PULL OFF THE TRACK ONTO THE IN GRID, DO NOT DRIVE YOUR KART FROM THE IN GRID TO THE OUT GRID. YOU MUST USE THE OUT GRID TO RETURN TO YOUR PRACTICE. 6 NO REFUELING OF KARTS ON THE GRID, IT MUST BE DONE OFF THE GRID. 7 EVERYBODY MUST WEAR THE APPROPRIATE RACING APPAREL WHILE DRIVING KARTS. EG: 1 FULL FACE HELMET, 2 APPROVED RACE SUIT, To AUSTRALIAN STANDARD 3 GLOVES, 4 SHOES TO COVER THE ANKLES. 8 AT ALL TIMES THE KART MUST COMPLY WITH THE AKA RULE BOOK. 9 ALL KARTS MUST TRAVEL IN A CLOCK WISE DIRECTION. 10 NO STARTING OF KARTS BEFORE 9.00am, NO RUNNING OF KARTS AFTER 6.00pm. 7 DAYS A WEEK.
