JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS ONE, THIS COMPETITION HAS A SOLIDARITY PURPOSE AND ALSO WANTS TO PROMOTE THE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN THE TAEKWONDO PRACTITIONERS OF THE DIFFERENT TEAMS BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ONES. It will be charged to the audience a symbolic fee, which will be delivered to the CENTRO DE ACOLHIMENTO DE CRIANÇAS EM RISCO in the end of tournament. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS: The transportation to and from Portugal, the competition material and food are entirely responsibility of the team. The organisation will provide a bus to the international teams from the airport to Peniche and from Peniche to the airport in the end of the competition. Registration Fees: In order to participate in the Open, the athlete shall pay a registration fee which grant access to all contests. You must pay by transfer to the account number below before the 28th February. 3 OPEN s Rules and registration forms This OPEN will be conducted under the A.P.T.O s rules for KYOKPA and HO SHIN SUL and under the ETU s rules for POOMSAE TRADITIONAL POOMSAE TRIOS CONTEST In the POOMSAE competition, athletes can compete in trios, mixed or not. (ATTENTION) Only one trio per division is allowed to participate from each team. KUP - INFANTS from 7 to 13 years old with a minimum Belt of 7 TH KUP KUP -JUNIOR and SENIOR in one same division from 7 TH KUP to 1 ST KUP DAN - JUNIOR and SENIOR in one same division THE EVALUATION WILL BE ACCORDING TO ETU S RULES RECOGNIZED POOMSAES FOR TRIOS (COMPULSORY) 1st Round 2nd Round Final Poomsae Kup - infants * The first TAEGUK shall be the one corresponding to the most graduated element of the trio; the second and the final TAEGUK can be one or two levels above or below that Belt. 4 INDIVIDUAL POOMSAE CONTEST KUP S COMPETITION Each athlete shall present the POOMSAE that corresponds to his belt in the first round, and in the second and final round he can present the POOMSAE that correspond one or two levels above or below his Belt. *If you make an error in the POOMSAE, you are allowed to repeat it once. Each team shall present only three male and three female contestants in each division. 5 OPEN CONTEST OF TECHNIQUE HYONG, POOMSAE, PAL JUNG DO, PALGWE This division is open only to Dans and was created in order to preserve the different styles of TAEKWONDO so that they can compete with their traditional patterns. Each athlete shall choose 3 patterns and present 2 of it. Only in case of draw the 3 rd pattern will be presented. Each team can only present 3 male and 3 female athletes in each division. 6 HO SHIN SUL TEAMS CONTEST The HO SHIN SUL TEAMS competition shall be according to A.P.T.O. s rules. Both JUNIOR and SENIOR athletes shall compete in one same division disregarding Belt. Teams can be mixed, composed by at least 3 athletes and at most 5 athletes. Teams shall present a choreography of an HO SHIN SUL situation. TEAMS CAN BREAK THE MATERIALS USED WITHOUT BEING PENALISED (TEAMS CAN USE ALL TYPE OF WEAPONS PROVIDED THEY ARE ONLY FAKES NOT REAL ONES) EACH TEAM HAS ONLY 1 MINUTE AND 30 SECONDS TO PRESENT ITS CHOREOGRAPHY (ATTENTION) Only one team per division is allowed. DIVISIONS: Infants from 7 to 13 years old with a minimum of 8 th KUP Junior and Senior athletes with at least 14 years old and minimum 6 th KUP The punctuation system shall be the usual used by A.P.T.O. in this kind of contests. In this contest shall be evaluated EFFECTIVENESS, TECHNICAL COORDINATION AND SPEED. In case of draw, teams shall have to repeat their presentation. If there is still a draw after the repetition the victory will be given to the team that had had the higher grade of the judges. HO SHIN SUL PAIRS CONTEST The HO SHIN SUL Pairs contest is divided into INFANT, JUNIOR and SENIOR divisions. Both male and female athlete can compete together. The JUNIOR and SENIOR athletes compete in one same division disregarding their Belt. Each team can present 2 pairs at most in each division. DIVISIONS: Infants from 7 to 13 years old with a minimum of 8 th KUP Junior and Senior athletes with at least 14 years old and minimum 6 th KUP EACH PAIR CAN ONLY PERFORM 4 ACTIONS - 2 FOR EACH ATHLETE WITH SEVERAL TECHNIQUES IN SEQUENCE, BEING DISQUALIFIED IF THE RULES ARE BROKEN. Example: (One athlete attacks and the other defends and/or counterattack with one or more techniques; mandatory - each athlete shall perform two different techniques) The punctuation system shall be the usual used by A.P.T.O. in this kind of contests. In this contest shall be evaluated EFFECTIVENESS, TECHNICAL COORDINATION AND SPEED.

The planks have 1,50cm (0,59 inches) of thickness, 34cm (13,38 inches) of height and 25,5cm (10,03 inches) of width. This contest is open to all athletes with at least 16 years old and a minimum of 4 th KUP. Only 3 male and 2 female athletes per team are allowed. The number of planks for the test shall be decided by the athlete selected to start the contest. The other athletes shall try to surpass or match the number of broken planks by the first athlete in order to continue the test. Each athlete can try ONLY ONCE. The athlete who breaks more planks is the winner. KYOKPA CONTEST (POWER TEST B) The POWER TEST with TCHUMOK NAÉRIO TCHIREGUI, DEUNG SONNAL CHIGUI, BATANG SON NAÉRIO TCHIGUI or SONNAL CHIGUI, into recyclable planks in a support on the floor.

8 The planks have 1,50cm (0,59 inches) of thickness, 34cm (13,38 inches) of height and 25,5cm (10,03 inches) of width. This contest is open to all athletes with at least 16 years old and a minimum of 4 th KUP. Only 3 male and 2 female athletes per team are allowed. The number of planks for the test shall be decided by the athlete selected to start the contest. The other athletes shall try to surpass or match the number of broken planks by the first athlete in order to continue the test. Each athlete can try ONLY ONCE. The athlete who breaks more planks is the winner. FLYING KYOKPA CONTEST This contest is open to all athletes with at least 16 years old and a minimum of 4 th KUP. Only 3 male and 2 female athletes per team are allowed. FLYING TEST in height with TUYMIO MONDOLIO TCHAGUI or DORA DOLYO TCHAGUI into a recyclable plank. The plank with 2cm (0,78 inches) of thickness, 34cm (13,38 inches) of height and 25,5cm (10,03 inches) of width. The height shall be at least 30cm above the head of the contestant. As the athletes proceed in the contest, the plank rises 10cm (3,93 inches) at each phase. The process is the same to both sexes. (In this contest the risk of injury is higher, so in order to prevent that the contestant get injured we use a flexible plank.) Each athlete can try ONLY ONCE. The jury shall be composed by two persons. The athlete who break the plank at the higher position is the winner. ATTENTION: Only techniques done with perfection shall be approved by the jury. Also, the athlete shall land in the upright position. ATTENTTION: Due to the exigence of the KYOKPA s contests and in order to prevent accidents, the organisation advise the teams only to register those athletes properly prepared and used to this kind of tests.

9 KYORUGUI COMPETITION This contest is available for all athletes from 8th KUP in the infant division and from 6th KUP in the junior and senior division. The KYORUGUI competition shall be divided into the following divisions: INFANTS (from 7 to 11 years old), male and female. CADET (from 12 to 14 years old), male and female. JUNIOR (from 14 to 17 years old), male and female. SENIOR (over 18 years old), male and female. VETERAN DAN (above 35 years old). Only 4 athletes of the same team are allowed per weigh division (2 female and 2 male). ATTENTION: In the infant division it is not allowed to strike the head with the foot. In weigh-in all athletes shall present their ID card. WEIGH-IN: The first one is on March 27th at 9h00 till 9h30 where the competition will take place. On March 28th at 9h00 till 9h30 Weigh-in for those who only arrive on Sunday or for those who request it under special circumstances. Compulsory equipment: headgear, trunk protector, forearm protectors, mouth protection, groin protection, chin protectors and also feet protectors (optional). In order to prevent injuries in the infant divisions, it is compulsory that all athletes use feet protectors. Competition rules according to WTF Rules, except in the number of rounds. In infant divisions there will be 2 rounds of 1minute, with a 30seconds break. In junior and senior divisions there will be 2rounds of 2minutes with a 1minute break. The jury shall be composed by 3 judges placed around the fighting area, and one referee in the ring. (IF THERE ARE ANY ATHLETES THAT ARE ALONE IN THEIR DIVISIONS, THEY CAN BE PLACED IN THE DIVISION ABOVE OR BELOW IF THEIR COACHES AGREE.)

13 PRIZES FOR THE TEAMS CONTESTS POOMSAE TRIOS (Infants, Junior/Senior) 1 Trophy to the 1st place team. 1 Trophy to the 2nd place team. 1 Trophy to the 3rd place team. The athletes that compose the POOMSAE teams shall receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. SELF DEFENSE (HO SHIN SUL) TEAM (Infants, Junior/Senior) 1 Trophy to the 1st place team. 1 Trophy to the 2nd place team. 1 Trophy to the 3rd place team. The athletes that compose the HO SHIN SUL teams shall receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. PRIZES FOR THE PAIRS CONTESTS SELF DEFENSE (HO SHIN SUL) PAIRS The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the Infants, Junior and Senior divisions will receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. PRIZES FOR THE INDIVIDUAL CONTESTS SPARRING (KYORUGI) The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the each weigh division will receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. BREAKING (KYOKPA) The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the each division will receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. INDIVIDUAL POOMSAE The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the each division will receive medals corresponding the place in which they finished. PRIZES FOR THE BEST ATHLETES OF THE COMPETITION Those athletes who win more 1st places in the contests in which they participate will be considered the OPEN s best athletes. BUT in order to obtain this prize they shall participate in the KYOKPA, FREE STYLE, (KYORUGUI mandatory for classification), HOSHINSUL and (POOMSAE mandatory for classification) contests, be it in team or individual contests. In the infants and cadets divisions the KYOKPA contest is excluded. If there are any draws, we will also count the 2nd places the athlete accomplished. All teams will receive a participation prize. All referee and judges will receive a souvenir and a certificate. All athletes and coaches will receive a participation certificate.
