President s Report The year has again been a busy one for the MQ board and MQ office: The MQ presidency: Derek Rumble, because he was to work long periods out of the state, determined that he could not properly discharge the duties of president and asked me, as vicepresident, to step into the role. The MQ board resolved to support that change and I therefore took over from Derek on 1 January New MQ general manager: Rob Ferguson is about to clock up his first year as MQ's general manager and has settled into the job very well. Rob has energised the MQ staff to do some very impressive work this past year. Too often, we overlook how well this organisation is served by our office personnel and I would personally like to thank them all for the great service they provide. And we will be looking to improve that service even more this coming year. The MQ constitution: We adopted our new constitution at the 2012 AGM. We have reviewed our constitution and have resolved to put a motion to the AGM for some changes, mostly in relation to facilitating more online communication with our clubs and conducting ballots etc. There are a few other changes that arose from the extensive review of MQ regulations; ie some matters about our AGM should actually be in our constitution, not in obscure regulations. And we have proposed to add an express power impose 'warning off' penalties in respect of some errant behaviours of some members. Work continued throughout the year to rationalise approximately 150 MQ regulations that had been created, on an ad hoc basis, from the early 1990s to about That work has resulted in the proposal recently put to clubs that all regulations be repealed and those that still have some currency or utility be resurrected in more appropriate documents. Property & assets: Queensland Moto Park at Coulsen continues to operate at a modest profit, although constant control of cost is necessary to achieve even modest profit. The patronage has been consistent and the great majority of users are not motorcyclists that are regular users of club facilities. We will continue to look at ways to convert some of these non-member users of QMP to more regular club participants. 5 P a g e

We have very recently been offered a long-term lease on a substantial block of land at the Ipswich City Council Willowbank Motor Sport precinct. This now presents us with the opportunity to develop that land for multiple purposes and to house multiple users. To fund that development, we will be selling Tivoli. Both e the sale of Tivoli and the structured development of the Willowbank site will be a significant undertaking for MQ over the next year or more. Big changes are imminent at MA: The MA Council, consisting of a representative of each SCB, resolved last year to invest in a Whole of Sport Review (WoSR) into the structure and operations of MA. That, of course, also involves a review of the role of SCBs. The WoSR panel includes some SCB personnel, the MA president, Braxton Laine, a representative from the Australian Sports Commission and, notably, high class external contributors, Peter Phair and Ross Oakley, the former AFL chairman. The WoSR panel will shortly deliver its final report and, without pre-empting the content of that report, we can expect to see some very big changes to MA and perhaps to MQ. We will, of course, try to keep you all up to date with those changes as they emerge. Electronic timing: We made some significant headway late last year with many of our clubs committing to purchasing timing equipment. We still have a long way to go to ensure that all clubs who have adopted this modernisation of the way we operate are properly supported in their efforts to establish electronic timing as business as usual. I assure you all that MQ will be there to provide as much support as we can. Support for clubs: The MQ board recently resolved that support for clubs would be our strategic priority for this year and into the future. We have some ideas, but we are very keen to hear from clubs how clubs thinks MQ can best help clubs. However, our communication with clubs must improve and that is the first area on which we will be concentrating. However, communication is, by nature, a 2-way issue. And we need clubs to recognise that MQ is a resource that exists for the betterment of our members, our affiliated clubs. The MQ board is very much looking forward to dealing with the challenges of the future. But we also want clubs to get on board with the support for clubs project and you will be hearing a lot more about that from us. Jim Feehely 2015 President 6 P a g e

General Manager s Report This is my first Annual Report for Motorcycling Queensland, having been appointed to the positon late May 2014 as a result of the retirement of the sports long servicing GM, Lindsay Granger. The work undertaken by Lindsay, the Board, the Staff and our many clubs, has left the sport in an excellent positon financially, developmentally, managerially and governance wise. The sport can be justifiably proud of the efforts made by all, both recently and historically. Operations 2014 was the beginning year of another 3 year funding cycle with Sport & Recreation Queensland. Having successfully met the Governments outcomes from the previous 3 years, Motorcycling received a modest increase in funding for the period The focus of much of the funding received is participation based, along with coached education, official s development and associated club development and governance. After having completed the first year of the funding cycle the sport was able to report positively against all Key Performance Indicators except Ridernet, which due to technical issues with the development of the online tool, this initiative is yet to be rolled out to the sport at large. Staffing wise there were a couple of changes in the State Office this past year. Courtney Wingfield took maternity leave and was replaced by Shandelle Walk in Accounts, Eliza-Jane Mann who had undertaken some part-time work with MQ joined us in a full time capacity and Lindsay Granger retired after a long association with the sport, was replaced by myself. The Office at the end of 2014 was as follows: Rob Ferguson General Manager Kim Rowcliffe Operations Manager Michael Brown Events Officer Karly Hoger Licencing Officer Shandelle Walk Accounts Officer Rachelle Houterman Administration Officer Eliza-Jane Mann Communications Officer Queensland Moto Park continues to operate strongly under the guidance of Ray Buchanan and his supporting staff. 7 P a g e

The SEQ Council of Mayors continue to support the Park strongly both from a management and funding perspective. This was very evident in the support provided in putting in a new water pipeline to ensure the main park damn remains constantly replenished to ensure appropriate supplies of water for the tracks and surrounding vegetation. With Park attendance levelling off somewhat as the novelty impact disappears we are continually looking at its activity base, track layouts and the like, to ensure it remains relevant to those that wish to ride at the park. Ridernet continues to be worked on and while there was great hope it would be operational some time during this past year, this was not to be the case. All recognise the benefits this online tool with bring to the sport and its members, but unfortunately ongoing teething problems have delayed its implementation. High hopes are held out for Late in 2014, MQ commenced an upgrade of its online systems and website. Over time our systems had become dated and segmented and we are aiming to have a more streamlined system that is cloud based operating from our own server with appropriate back-up services in place. This along with improved ADSL service has been designed with Ridernet, the website upgrade and general communication improvements in mind. An initiative many in the sport were hopeful about was the potential development of an off ride site north of Brisbane, similar to what is in place at the Queensland Moto Park. The suggested area for this development was the Mooloolaba Logging Area. While extensive work was undertaken in terms of the feasibility of this area, it was decided due to environment and other associated constraints not to proceed with this project at this time. MQ will continue to work with the Government in relation to off road opportunities that may arise in the future as we strive to improve the participation base for the sport throughout the State. The development of a new site at Willowbank has become a realisation, with the finalisation of negotiations with the Ipswich City Council. This site will replace our current site at Tivoli as well as being the new home of the Moreton & District MX Club. It is envisaged the Tivoli site will be sold off for development, with the proceeds from the sale going to the development of the new facility at Willowbank. The proposed development of Willowbank. 8 P a g e

Sport Development Coach education remains a priority for the sport with MQ conducting 7 Level 1 courses with 52 new accreditations. As the basis of the development of many activities undertaken by participants in this sport we will always continue to encourage individuals to take up coaching within our sport, particularly individuals that live in Central and Northern Qld. With this in mind there were 432 coaching permits issued during the year. During 2014 MQ conducted 32 Officials seminars for 328 officials, along with 3 Advanced Officials Refresher Courses, attracting 26 participants. This is an excellent outcome for a sport that is most reliant of well trained and enthusiastic officials. We often forget, as is the case for most sports, then need to develop and encourage our officials because without them we cannot conduct many of the events we rely on. We always need to remain conscious of the need for good relations between officials and participants as an integral part of our sport. MQ continues to develop the role of females in our sport, not only from a riding perspective but also as officials and administrators. To date the sport has been able to attract a strong contingent of women who have contributed to its growth and development and the conduct of the Go Girls Series, along with a number of other promotional activities for female riders have been important initiatives within this process. In 2014 MQ issued 690 Practice Permits, 458 Club & Interclub Permits and 176 Zone National Permits. A total of 48,464 participants attended Permitted events across the State. It is pleasing to see a slight increase in licences from the end of 2013 to the end of At the end of the year MQ had 6420 licence holders being made up of 3980 competition licences and 2440 noncompetition licences. We hope this trend continues into 2015 moving closer to the 7000 mark again. Licences for 2014 are broken down as outlined in the pie graph below. Come and Try continues to remain as an excellent promotional tool for the sport with 50 Come and Try Permits being issued conducting activities involving over 1400 participants. This initiative continues to be a wonderful introduction into the sport for many young riders and I would encourage clubs to be involved in this initiative if they have not already 9 P a g e

Our various Committees and Subcommittees continue to be a vital part of our sport, forming an essential link between the club, events and officials in terms of the application of the sport and its associated rules. The development of the role of our committees is an ongoing exercise with the Board working closer with them over the past year but attending meetings to improve communication and understanding of how all the parts of our sport come together to create the organisation that is Motorcycling Queensland. It is important to also recognise those many riders that had success on the tract at the State and National level and I would like to congratulate you all. There are far too many to name here. In particular though, I would like to recognise both Jett Lawrence, cc Motocross World Champion and Jemma Wilson, who was part of the Women s team that won the 2014 International 6 Day Enduro (ISDE) in Argentina. Congratulations to both of you on such outstanding international achievements. Highlights We had a number of highlights throughout the course of In particular, the MQ Awards Night. Being my first awards it was great to see the array of award winners from across the sport. This was an excellent night showcasing the sport in the best possible way with 350 attending, under the direction of Garry Youngberry as MC. It was Garry s first time heading up the event and he did it in a wonderfully relaxed and informative manner, clearly appreciated by all in attendance. Mike Findlay won Sports Administrator of the Year Motorcycling Qld was recognised at the Annual Qsport Awards with success in the following categories: Service to Sport: Ralph Freeman (Winner) Sport Administrator of the Year Mike Findlay (Winner) Sports Officiator of the Year Tom Williams (Finalist) Ralph Freeman accepting his Service to Sport Award 10 P a g e

Also throughout the State were some excellent events, being the cornerstone of the competition base for the sport. Events such as the Shell Series, the CQ Series, Go Girls, Australian Supermoto Championships, Southern Downs Series, Conondale Cup, Australian Post Classic MX Championships, 3 rounds of the Australian MX Championships, and for the first time ever, the FNQ Interclub Development Series. In closing I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board, staff, clubs and sub-committees for the dedication and enthusiasm they give to the sport as we all work to grow and develop the sport across the State. Any sport is only as strong as its volunteer base and this sport can be justly proud of those that work on its behalf, ably support by its professional staff based in Ipswich. I would also at this time, like to recognise the achievements of Lindsay Granger and the legacy he has left this sport as he heads off to sail the oceans in retirement as well as thank all concerned for the warm welcome I have received from the sport as its new General Manager. 13 Officials Review Board Report 2014 The Motorcycling Queensland Officials Review Board (ORB) meets on a monthly basis throughout the year, and continued to do so during The ORB is charged with, among others, the following responsibilities: Determining upgrades to level 3 accreditation for officials. Recommending applicants for upgrade to level 4 accreditation to MA Assisting with the planning of officials training Seminar Implementing action resulting from stewards Reports Initiating correspondence on issues involving officials Recommending new strategies for the improvement of our officials, volunteers, etc The ORB for 2014 consisted of Weldon Jung, Ted Brackman, Robert Eyres, Ralph Freeman and Terry Wellsteed. During the year Barry Newton stood in as temporary member at various times and the ORB would like to thank him for this. The ORB official of the month award continued in 2014 with an increased number of nominations being received. We would encourage our Clubs, and Stewards to continue to report in their competition reports, officials who performed in an outstanding and professional manner. Six Random Race Meeting Audits where conducted during the year and again the Auditors found that these were generally of a high standard. Audits will again be conducted in 2015 for both race and practice events Applications for licences upgrades to level 3 (and recommendations to MA for level 4) have been considered. Some Applications still arrive with very little, or no information on the applicants experience in the role that they are applying for, or events that they have participated at. A large number of Officials Training Seminars were conducted state wide in The number of Attendees at these seminars continues to increase. The on-line generic seminar has proved to be a great success, and will, we believe be rolled out in all Australian States. We hope to introduce the refresher seminar on-line in Our thanks to Kim Rowcliffe and Michael Brown for all their work in this area. 12 P a g e

Thanks also to all our face to face presenters for giving their time to travel around the state to present seminars. Steward s reports were in general good but some still fail to give detailed information on issues on and off the track. Failure to handle issues on the day is also of concern. Very little complaints against Officials were again received during the year, and once again Queensland Officials performed in senior roles at international and national events in Australia. MA conducted a level 4 Clerk of Course/Steward seminar in Brisbane late in 2014 and was well attended by Queensland Key Officials The ORB would like to thanks all officials and volunteers for the input into Motorcycling in Queensland. Thank you to all members of the ORB, for your work and input during the year, and to the all staff at Motorcycling Queensland for all their help. Finally I would like to give a large thank you to Michael Brown for his assistance in the role of ORB Secretariat during On Behalf of the ORB Terry Wellsteed Chairperson 13 P a g e

Coaching Subcommittee Report 2014 The MQ Coaching Committee continues to provide recommendations and advice to the Motorcycling Queensland Board and Motorcycling Australia Coaching Commission on a range of motorcycle coaching issues.the Committee takes this responsibility seriously and we aim to continue to improve the coaching systems within our sport. There has been efforts made in recent times to revive and reinvigorate the Junior Coaching and Kick Start Programs which after nearly 10 years of implementation are certainly due. Significant steps have also been made towards better resourcing coaches who attend coaching courses so they are well prepared when they take the next step to go and conduct permitted coaching. In 2014 the Coaching Committee facilitated eight (8) Level 1 Coaching Courses for a total of 59 attendees. Courses were conducted in Toowoomba, Gold Coast x 3, North Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Mackay and Ipswich. In 2014 Mr. Dave Fuller advised his intention to resign from the MQ Coaching Committee and from presenting Level 1 Coaching Courses. We thank Dave for his unwavering commitment to the cause, always presented with good humor. As has become the norm in recent year s MQ s U21s Elite Training Camp Program was run at The Kings College, University of Queensland. Congratulations to the following riders who were selected to attend: Geoffrey Chalmers, Dylan Blain, Troy Guenther, Billy Harth, Darcy Hayes, Thomas McLachlan, Sharni Pinfold, Ty Pearce, Lawson Preston, Jack Williams, Neil Collard, Ryan Eden, Mitch Evans, Trae Kuehn and Caleb Ward. I am pleased to report that this camp continues to be a very successful program with all attendees justifying their selection. Thanks must go to Camp Presenters - Chris Urquhart, Annalise Chester and Jemma Wilson for their professional approach to the delivery of this Camp. Scott Roots was acknowledged with the Services to Coaching Award at the 2014 MQ Awards Night, whilst Shaun Harbottle and Peta Ruig were presented with the Coach of the Year award many thanks to all coaches who continue to make a significant contribution to coaching in Qld. Many thanks to those who have served on the Coaching Committee over the past 12 months, namely John Urquhart, Bryan Tricklebank, Dave Fuller and Tania Millard, and thanks also to the support offered by MQ Operations Manager Kim Rowcliffe. Rodney Jenner Chairperson 14 P a g e

Motocross Subcommittee Report 2014 Motocross in 2014 has again proven to be very successful in Queensland, with consistent rider numbers and the number of events comparable with The start of the year saw many changes to our two main Series Events of the Motocross Calendar with a new timing system (MyLaps), new Series Co-ordinator and a new Series Race Secretary being introduced to the Shell Advanced Motocross Series and the Yamaha Queensland Motocross Titles. The Shell Advanced Motocross Series was again contested over a six round series, across tracks in the Southern Zone. The first round was held at Roma in mid February with the Club completing a very successful event with rider number in the high three hundreds. Moreton Districts, Hervey Bay, Kilcoy, Rob Haworth and Suncoast Club also held very successful rounds of this series, which was completed in early June. The Yamaha Queensland Motocross Titles were held at Coolum over the Easter Weekend. The three day event attracted approximately 280 riders from all over the state and proved to be a fantastic and exciting event for all who attended. The Queensland Supercross Championship was held over a three round series, late in the year with consistent number from previous years. I would like to commend the Promoters of this series for their continued dedication to promote Supercross in Queensland. Motocross in North Queensland and Central Queensland is improving each year with consistent rider numbers and sufficient officials to run strong events. Although some meeting numbers are slow, it is good to see the Clubs and volunteers persevere to keep events running professionally. The MX Subcommittee would like to thank all the valuable Sponsors for their generous support and ongoing commitment to Queensland Motocross and Supercross each year. The subcommittee would also like to thank all the dedicated Club volunteers and Officials for their continued efforts in supporting all Queensland Motocross events. Finally, I would like to thank all the other Subcommittee members for their continued dedication to Motocross and the staff of Motorcycling Queensland for their hard work and support throughout the year. Mark Franzmann Chairperson 15 P a g e

Dirt Track Subcommittee Report 2014 has seen Dirt Track really thrive in a step in the right direction again with a lot of renewed focus and help of big names and events such as the Troy Bayliss Classic. Troy has been instrumental in helping dirt track s profile His Moto Expo at Brisbane and Melbourne was a huge success with a display of great names old and current from all disciplines, racing dirt track for all to enjoy. Coaching has been a big focus for the discipline too- a lot of Road Racers globally are starting to use Dirt Track as a training tool for their discipline. Paul Caslick has also been travelling to Queensland to conduct clinics and some real positive results have been achieved there. A shortage of racing venues is still a hurdle for the discipline, however the sport continues to thrive, particularly due to the efforts of some very passionate committee and parents from all over Queensland. The introduction of Mylaps has had a great effect to the sport with the SEQ clubs making it mandatory to run them on club days, it s an increasingly common discussion on the effects of what timing has to practice and coaching as previously it was get out and go hard with no real knowledge of the riders progress, now we are starting to hear riders and parents quoting time and comparing within their own personal best which hasn t been a subject till Mylaps. The 2014 Queensland Track & Dirt Track Championships were held at the Whitsunday Dirt Riders Club in Proserpine over the same weekend. Both championships were a success with all event classes declared championship classes are reduced to 6 for that year. There was some discussion on the for s and against of running both events at one venue in one weekend but overall it was well received and well run at Proserpine. A Dirt Track club North Brisbane JMCC received the club of the year award for 2014, Other Dirt Track awards such as the Matt Kuhne Perseverance Award resulted in Anthony Gordon from Mike Hatcher JMCC taking the prize. The Sub Committee would like to thank the Kuhne Family for their ongoing support. The strong support and commitment by the Clubs shown in 2014/15 is encouraging for the continued growth of the discipline. Craig Taylor Subcommittee Member 16 P a g e

Enduro Subcommittee Report All series events in South East Queensland went ahead without weather cancellation. Queensland teams at the Australian 4 Day Enduro (A4DE) did reasonably well and were a credit to QLD. The subcommittee still face a few challenges, including: No Action in North Qld Reasonably good rider numbers were seen at events, which made many events profitable.. The Enduro Subcommittee purchased a trailer which is being used to great effect. Similarly, the Subcommittee s new Facebook page is now a fantastic souce of quality information. We introduced a new website with up to date information including upcoming events and online nominations. Mylaps is now being used in all South East Qld events. Activity from clubs seems to be diminishing Distance between three areas still means we are fragmented and have different methods Some unrest in Central Queensland, where Mylaps is still not being used. Having enough qualified officials at events is proving to be an ongoing challenge. The Enduro subcommittee ran opening two rounds of the 2014 AORC with many volunteers. Part of the profit from the AORC to be used to assist teams to attend A4DE in Tasmania Junior development day was a great success and allowed the committee to inform parents. There was lots of positive feedback from the Enduro community. All in all, Enduro in Queensland has taken many steps forward with the help of past and present committee members, and other volunteers. Thank you to everybody that made our jobs easier. Frank Kraan Chairperson 17 P a g e

Road Race Subcommittee Report 2014 was an exciting year for road racing in Queensland. First and foremost was the announcement of the Australian Superbike Championships (ASBK) coming back to the clubs with round 2 of the 2015 ASBK championship to be run at Morgan Park, Warwick April This is the first time the track has hosted a round of the ASBK with the honour of kicking off the new format placed in the capable hands of the Motorcycle Sportsmen and Motorcycling Queensland, in conjunction with Motorcycling Australia. At the request of the Road racing Association of Townsville, the Road Race Sub-Committee approved the state championship status of the Queensland short course road racing championship. This championship mainly caters for the north Queensland clubs that race on large go-kart tracks. For 2015 this championship will consist of a single round held in Townsville. The success of this championship will be reviewed at the end of 2015 to determine if it should continue and/or be expanded to include other events. The Queensland Road Race Championships was run across 8 races over two rounds in all classes, in conjunction with the Southern Downs Road Race championships. Classes were split across several weekends racing. Stronger fields than in the previous year suggest this format is worth pursuing. The RRSC was once again successful in its The RRSC was once again successful in its application for a Junior Development Fund grant for road race coaching in North Queensland. A coaching day was run by MQ accredited coach Leo Cash on July at the Mako Trac in Mareeba with 12 junior road racers in attendance, six of whom completed their Kickstart training. The North Queensland members of the RRSC worked with the three NQ clubs to promote and reinvigorate the NQ interclub series. All three NQ clubs (RRAT, WMSC and FNQRRC) competed in the interclub series and RRAT was the winning club. The interclub however was not well supported, but will still be held in Many of our Queensland Road race competitors participated in the 2014 Australian Superbike Championship with great success including Mike Jones, Aiden Wagner and Callum Spriggs, who were standouts at all the ASBK rounds. Aiden Wagner raced as a wildcard in Moto2 at the 2014 Moto GP and in Supersport at the 2015 WSBK, with strong finishes in both. 18 P a g e

On the international front we also saw Queenslander Jack Miller continue to rise in prominence with a hard fought second place in the world Moto3 championship, only just missing out on the top spot by 2 points, despite more wins in the class than any other rider in His elevation straight into MotoGP from Moto3, a very unusual transition, shows just how highly regarded his talent is in the world of road racing. Teenage racer Troy Geunther contested and won the single round New Zealand 125GP TT championship, backing up from being the youngest ever winner of the New Zealand 125GP championship in saw some personnel changes on the RRSC, with long time chair Leo Cash resigning from the RRSC. Leo is thanked for the hard work he put into the committee over many years. Matt Weinert has replaced Leo as the chair and as he has moved from NQ, has swapped positions with Tim Hewitt, with Tim now the NQ member on the RRSC and Matt an ordinary member. Dave Fuller, well known to MQ, has replaced Leo on the committee. Matt Weinert Chairperson 19 P a g e

Junior Subcommittee Report Andy Walmsley, Lincoln Hinds, Julie Newsome and Chauntelle McCosh were the members of the Junior Subcommittee in Junior Development Fund The Junior Subcommittee approved applications from the Road Race Subcommittee for a Junior Coaching Day at the Pimpama Karting Track, the Motocross Subcommittee for a sand specific coaching day Junior MX program for riders travelling to Bunbury, Western Australia for the Junior Motocross titles in September, the Enduro subcommittee for a coaching day catering for riders in the CQ area, and the Junior subcommittee for their timing initiative to assist junior riders for the SEQ series and to promote the use of the MYLAPS timing system. It is the intention of the JSC that C grade riders get their own race to help encourage further progression into the sport of Motocross. The committee would like to thank all the helpers, clubs and sponsors for making this series possible for all the junior racers of South East Queensland. It s important for these riders to have their own series where they can step up from their club events. Other Disciplines The committee would like to promote the fact that the JSC is for all disciplines and would like input on a regular basis to assist other juniors right through our sport. SEQ KTM Junior Motocross Series 2014 The SEQJMX was held over four rounds at Moreton Districts, Toowoomba, Coolum and Bundaberg. Entries were up on last year, with approx. 180 riders per event with a few extra for the last round which incorporated the girls Queensland MX Titles. Andy Walmsley Chairperson 20 P a g e

Moto-Trials Subcommittee Report Every day is a good day when your feet are above ground or even better, when they are on pegs straddling a Trials bike. Not a famous quote but how true? The Discipline of Moto trials has the most fun tag of all the motorcycle disciplines. The machines are also much quieter and allow access to many more properties where livestock are run. This follows on to the next issue of landholder protection. Few of the disciplines conduct their activities on natural terrain and Moto-Trials falls into this category. This activity is being abused by non-affiliated Trials clubs who omit to inform that their members (and landholders) that they are not covered by the appropriate insurance. This is not an ethical practice and can result in costly consequences. The MA Insurance has to be the best selling point to any Moto-Trials club contemplating affiliating. The year for Moto-trials was a little quieter on the activity front though still showing a little growth in the sport. The Queensland Moto-Trials series was conducted with a few more nominees than previous year. Each of the four Qld clubs were well represented in the series, with the awards presentation at the annual Western Districts Trials Club final year Trial and Xmas party at Conondale s Green Park. It was pleasing to note a larger than previous number of young A grade riders attending events throughout- one sixth of nominees were A graders. The younger riders aspire to emulate the upper grade riders and in this way the discipline will continue to grow. These guys are surely the crowd favourites at every Event. Our subcommittee conducted a hugely successful Junior Development Training Day in the first half of last year and it was very pleasing to witness two quite young riders, through their tears of frustration, progressed to standing on the pegs. This is when it is all worth it. The Central Queensland Trials Club continues to perform well and having recently gained improvements to its club paddock through Funding Grants and has become asset endowed. The CQTC always conducts a successful Central Queensland Classic and Twinshock Event with 2014 being no exception. Other notable events are by Western Districts Trials Club and their challenging Trials with rock and water sections as in the Conondale Classic and with Moto-Trials Club of Queensland offering the popular TY Challenge. Logan Districts have been a little sedated lately but we all look forward to their return with renewed vigour. 21 P a g e

The usual problems face our discipline, namely the scarcity of and enthusiasm of volunteers and the constant gaining and upgrading of Officials. Thankfully, due to an initiative of our subcommittee we have managed to convince MA that we can operate with less officials when conducting a meet. They have created a Club Steward who solely, can run a closed to club Trial providing less than 65 riders have nominated. Hopefully we can have this ruling carry in to Interclub and QMTS Rounds. Also through our subcommittee, we moved that MA remove the licence duplication each year for a single issue, as a cost saving. A further suggestion would be to provide specific licence courses for Moto-Trials as presently they are generic to cover all disciplines. Example being that flags are not used in Moto-Trials. This amendment should assist the gaining of more Trials Officials. Finally, I give a very hearty thanks to ALL our behind the scenes personnel and to the obliging staff at MQ for helping make the discipline of Moto-Trials a success. The competitors are the sport s best asset. They all perform admirably and leave the public and spectators with a clean image. I reckon that we all had a pretty good year! 24 Speedway Subcommittee Report The 2015 Speedway Subcommittee would like to thank all clubs, officials, volunteers and competitors for the support given in the last 12 months. All the state championships were well supported and congratulations to all the competitors that entered. The U21 Championships were hosted by NBJMCC, 125 and 250 Championship hosted by ISJSC, Open Solo Championship hosted by AMCC, Sidecars hosted by Bowen, and all provided excellent racing, Winners were U21 Nick Morris, 250 Brodie Eves, 125 Declan Kennedy, Open Solo Josh Grajczonek, Sidecar Christopher/Moon. Ipswich was the hosting venue for the Australian U16 250, 125 and Jnr Sidecar Championships. These events were a huge success for the new club, with both the 250 and 125 well supported. Unfortunately the Junior Sidecars did not constitute a championship. Unfortunately, due to limited venues and events Speedway is declining rapidly. There has not been any significant increase in competitors but a slow decline is putting the discipline under a black cloud and not looking promising for the future of Speedway in Queensland. A great effort shown by our Junior and Senior competitors travelling all over the nation representing Queensland. Many Thanks to my fellow Speedway Subcommittee Members and the staff of Motorcycling Queensland. Wayne Kennedy Chairperson 23 P a g e

Women s Subcommittee Report The Women s Subcommittee has enjoyed another progressive year. The Go Girls Motocross series has become bigger and better with outstanding rider numbers. The Triple Tiara Series has been placed on the calendar 2015, but we will need assistance from the multiple disciplines to ensure the overall success of this series. The participation rate for Senior Ladies in both Motocross and Enduro continues to increase yet again. Rider numbers for the Junior MX Classes are also at levels not seen in our time in the sport. The Women s Subcommittee has lobbied the QLD MX Subcommittee to have the QLD Junior Women s MX Titles included in the final round of the 2015 SEQ Junior MX series. This format was run in 2014 and was seen to be a huge success. We had 6 x 65cc Girls, 10 x 85cc Girls and 8 x Junior Lites Girls competing in four races for each class over the two day event. With the number of Female 50cc Auto riders at Round 1 of Go Girls we are confident we may even see a Championship Class run in this event in 2015, also was first time we had attempted the QLD Junior Women s Titles in this format we were very happy with the support from the riders, sponsors and the host club, Bundaberg. The The subcommittee QLD Junior Women s still face MX a Titles few also challenges, contributed including: greatly to the SEQ series, which has struggled over the last few years to be viable No Action to run in the North event Qld over two days for the four rounds. 26 The girls arranged their own sponsorship however we requested MQ provide brochures and information packs about QMP and how to obtain the appropriate licence to train/compete on MA Approved tracks. In conclusion, the Women s Subcommittee has achieved considerable results with the QLD Junior Women s MX Titles and the Go Girls Series in We will be working this year to hold more regular meetings once the remaining committee positions have been filled. The MQ Board s commitment to having a member attend our meetings has been excellent and it is demonstrating that you are trying to engage with participants at the ground level. This can only ever be seen to be a good thing as it will allow for a much clearer perspective for the clubs and organizers on the direction MQ are trying to move and also give MQ a better understanding of the struggles of the clubs and entrants. 32 Financial Report MQ as the Parent Company turned a very modest profit for the year of $7,644. This was very close to budget expectations after adjustments. Overall turnover for the year was almost $200,000 ahead of 2013 at just over $3.4 million. A significant part of the increased turnover was from an improvement in licencing income with this being up by $100,000 over the previous year with no appreciable increase in fees. Other areas of improved performance were Permits and Levies and Grants, with MQ receiving an increase in annual support from the State Government as a result of commencement of a new 3 year funding cycle. We thank the Minister of the day, Hon Steve Dickson for the ongoing support provided to motorcycling by the State Government. It should be noted in 2014, the Shell MX Series was run by MQ showing an income of $160,000. This would not normally be the case and was effectively an in and an out in the accounts of the organisation with additional distributions being made to the supporting clubs at the end of the series. Expense wise, we had a similar increase in expenses to that of income, which the majority of this increase sitting in distributions associated with the conduct of the Shell Series. Most other expenses were maintained within reasonable limits against Wages being the largest expense of the organisation sits at about 25% of turnover, with this being at the lower end of the scale for not for profit organisations Will we continue to work on developing new income streams, as well as improving the membership base of the sport our best opportunity to improve the bottom line of the organisation is to work at controlling the expense side of the ledger. Queensland Moto Park, while remaining in surplus for the year, did show a downturn in revenue from park usage of about $120,000. This was mainly due to a drop off in senior rider attendance. Expenses on the other hand were reduced considerably allowing the park to post a surplus of about $26,000. Queensland Moto Holdings Ltd, being the entity that owns and operates the offices in Ipswich continues to operate strongly. This was assisted by a payout of their lease by Toll Holdings early in The $80,000 loan MQ maintains with Queensland Moto Holdings has again been carried over into this year. The assets of the organisation are clearly shown on the Balance Sheet, with a slight improvement in Current Assets. Non-Current Assets as a result of accumulated depreciation and a write down of the Townsville facility show a change of about $100,000. The Net Assets of the organisation currently sits at $3,250,528, being a slight reduction from Overall the performance of the organisation has been within expectations for the year, with opportunities to improve both income and expense lines in Rob Ferguson General Manager 31 P a g e
