Utah State recognized its 22 seniors in a pre-game ceremony, honoring a senior class that posted at least a.500 home record for the fourth-straight season as well as recording the most WAC wins in consecutive seasons. This was also the first Aggie group of seniors to earn possession of the Old Wagon Wheel, the traveling trophy with BYU, leading USU to the first win over BYU since One of the Aggie seniors, placekicker Peter Caldwell put USU on the board first, with a 44-yard field goal at the 4:29 mark of the first quarter. Caldwell s kick capped a drive that was kept alive with a fake punt play featuring an 11-yard pass from senior quarterback Diondre Borel to junior linebacker Bobby Wagner on fourth-and-seven at the Idaho 29. The Vandals took the ensuing kick and marched down the field, with Nathan Enderle hitting Eric Greenwood with a 10-yard TD pass for a 7-3 UI lead with eight seconds left on the first quarter clock. Caldwell split the uprights from 24-yards out to pull USU within 7-6 with 12:52 left in the second stanza. That would be the final Aggie points put on the board, as Enderle and Greenwood connected from 28-yards out with just 1:18 to go in the half. Trey Farquahar s upright spltting game UI a 14-6 lead that would hold into intermission. Neither team scored in the third frame before Idaho s Deonte Jackson darted in from 4-yards out with 8:50 to go and then sealed the Vandal victory with a 10-yard pass from Enderle with 5:20 left in the game. UI s first scoring drive was its only scoring drive less than 70 yards, as the Vandals marched out drives of 74 yards (10 plays), 79 yards (15 plays) and 76 yards (seven plays). Idaho also converted 10 of its 18 third-down conversions and both of its fourth-down tries. USU was 6-of-18 on third-down and 2-of-3 on fourth-down, finishing the game with 242 yards of total offense, as Borel was 14-of-35 passing for 103 yards. Borel topped the 8,000 yards of total offense milestone, becoming just the second Aggie QB to reach the 8K plateau, joining Jose Fuentes ( ) in the 8,000-yard club, as Borel now has 8,038. The 8,038 yards puts Borel 753 yards behind Fuentes school-record 8,791 yards of total offense. The Aggies had a total of 139 rushing yards, getting a game-high 80 yards from senior running back Derrvin Speight. Sophomore wide receiver Dontel Watkins had four catches for 32 yards. Idaho totalled 355 yards of total offense, as Enderle was 20-of-32 passing for 243 yards with three TD tosses and one interception, while the Vandals totalled 112 yards on the ground. Greenwood tallied 114 yards receiving on four catches with two TD s, while Jackson had 62 yards with one TD rushing and one receiving. The Aggie defense was led by Wagner s game-high 16 stops, one shy of his career-high. Junior linebacker Kyle Gallagher totalled 11 stops, tying his career-high for the third time this season and fourth of his career. Senior cornerback Curtis Marsh snared his second interception of the season, both of which have come at home and both in the same corner of the endzone, also doing so in the Hawai i game on Oct. 23. Marsh also two pass break-ups, sharing game-high honors with his fellow senior cornerback Chris Randle.
