Liberty has posted a 17-8 record in November during seven seasons under Gill (68.0 win pect.). Last week s win against New Mexico State snapped a threegame losing streak for the Flames, marking the third longest losing streak for Liberty during head coach Turner Gill s seven seasons on Liberty Mountain. Liberty opened Gill s tenure at Liberty with a four-game skid in 2012, while the Flames dropped four games in a row during the 2017 season. Liberty has posted a 4-2 record on Senior Day under head coach Turner Gill. Liberty picked up wins during its final home game in 2012, 2013, 2015 and Liberty defeated Presbyterian, 47-28, on Nov. 11, 2017 and is looking for its first back-toback Senior Day wins since the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Liberty s win over New Mexico State gave Liberty seven seasons in a row with four or more victories at home under head coach Turner Gill. Liberty has won four or more home games each year during the Flames time under Gill s leadership (2012: 4-2; 2013: 6-1; ; ; ; 2017: 4-2; 2018: 4-1). Liberty is 4-1 at home this season with wins over Old Dominion, Troy, Idaho State and New Mexico State. Offense The Flames have finished three games this season where both Liberty and its opponent have tallied 500 or more total offensive yards: Liberty (568) vs. New Mexico (580) 1,148 yards; Liberty (518) vs. New Mexico State (567) 1,085 yards; Liberty (552) vs. Idaho State (631) 1,183 yards. New Mexico State outgained Liberty during last week s contest (396 to 295 total offensive yards), marking the third time the Flames have been outgained in a game this year but still won the contest (New Mexico 580 vs. Liberty 568; Idaho State 631 vs. Liberty 552). After tallying 518 total offensive yards against New Mexico State during the first matchup on Oct. 6, Liberty was held to 295 yards on 78 plays last Saturday, its second lowest offensive output of the season. After amassing 400 or more total offensive yards in six of its first eight games of the year, Liberty has failed to reach the mark during its last three contests and is averaging total offensive yards during its last three contests. Facing the No. 14 ranked scoring defense in the country (Auburn entered the game allowing 18.3 points allowed per game), the Flames suffered their first shutout loss since 2005 in a 53-0 loss at Auburn, last Saturday, during the Flames first-ever game against a SEC opponent. Following the UMass game, Liberty was averaging total offensive yards per game and would have ranked No. 16 in the country in if Liberty was eligible for the FBS statistical ranks (not eligible due to NCAA FBS reclassification process). After the lower offensive output during its last three games, Liberty is now averaging yards per game and would rank No. 55 in the nation. For the first time in three games, Liberty finished a contest with a passing touchdown as Stephen Calvert threw two touchdown passes against New Mexico State. Liberty has now thrown for multiple touchdowns in eight of their 11 games this season. After rushing for 13 total touchdowns against Idaho State (5), UMass (5) and Virginia (3), the Flames have been held without a rushing touchdown in back-to-back games for the second time this year (Army and North Texas Auburn and New Mexico State). Liberty finished the New Mexico State game with two INT passes. The Flames have thrown 13 INTs in their last five games and would rank No. 125 in the country in INTs thrown (16) if Liberty was eligible for the FBS statistical ranks (not eligible due to NCAA FBS reclassification process). Defense Seven out of Liberty s last nine opponents have racked up 500 or more total offensive yards against Liberty (rush/pass): 510 by Army (449/61); 531 by North Texas (346/185); 580 by New Mexico (211/369); 567 by New Mexico State (165/402); 631 by Idaho State (234/397); 777 by UMass (237/540); 531 by Auburn (340/191). The Flames allowed just one offensive touchdown against New Mexico State last weekend, as the Aggies first two scores during the first quarter came on a kickoff return and interception return for a touchdown. New Mexico State finished the game with 396 total offensive yards on 81 plays (4.9 yards per play), marking the fourth time Liberty has held an opponent to less than 400 yards in a game this season. The Flames are now allowing total offensive yards per game in The average would rank No. 127 in the country in total defense if Liberty was eligible for the FBS statistical ranks (not eligible due to NCAA FBS reclassification process). Liberty s defense came up big on third and fourth-down plays against New Mexico State last weekend, limiting the Aggies to 3-of-16 third-down conversions and 2-of-7 fourthdown conversions. The Flames finished the New Mexico State game with 4.0 sacks and 7.0 TFLs, giving the Flames 13.0 sacks and 24.0 TFLs during the last three home games (4.0/8.0 vs. Troy; 5.0/9.0 vs. Idaho State). Special Teams After giving up only one kickoff return for a touchdown during the Flames first six seasons under head coach Turner Gill (95-yarder against Monmouth in 2017), Liberty has allowed two kickoff returns for a touchdown during its last three games (90-yarder at Virginia and 85-yarder against New Mexico State). Auburn blocked a punt that went out the back of the end zone for a safety midway through the first half of Nov. 17 game. The blocked kick was the second this year for a Liberty opponent, as New Mexico State blocked an extra point attempt late in the fourth quarter. 5

He has thrown for 300+ yards in five of his first 11 games in Gandy-Golden tallied 1,066 receiving yards and 10 TDs last season. He is averaging 96.6 receiving yards per game in 2018, which ranks No. 15 among all FBS wideouts. Gandy- Golden is 34 yards away from his second straight 1,000-yard season. ONE TO WATCH A. Gandy-Golden Liberty junior WR Antonio Gandy-Golden was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Nov. 5. The Biletnikoff Award, which annually recognizes the outstanding FBS receiver in college football, will be presented live on Dec. 6, 2018, on The Home Depot College Football Awards presented by Gildan to be broadcast on ESPN. Gandy-Golden leads the Flames with 966 receiving yards, 64 receptions and 10 TDs this season. He has posted four 100- yard games in 2018, including a pair of 200-yard outings. NO LEMON HERE! Jessie Lemonier A. Gandy-Golden Junior DE Jessie Lemonier has terrorized opposing quarterbacks during his first season at Liberty. He leads the Flames in sacks (10.0) and tackles for a loss (13.5), with seven of his sacks coming in the last five games. Lemonier is one of only eight FBS players averaging 0.9 or more sacks per game this season. SUMMARIZING THE STREAK Liberty enters the 2018 season having posted a winning record for a program-best 12 consecutive years ( ). The Flames own a record since the start of the 2006 season. Only eight other FBS programs have recorded a winning record in 12 or more consecutive seasons entering 2018, as recognized by the NCAA. Virginia Tech - 25 seasons ( ) Boise State - 20 seasons ( ) Oklahoma - 19 seasons ( ) LSU - 18 seasons ( ) Wisconsin - 16 seasons ( ) Penn State - 13 seasons ( ) Oklahoma State - 12 seasons ( ) USC - 12 seasons ( ) BOWL AGREEMENT Liberty Athletics and the AutoNation Cure Bowl announced a two-year bowl agreement for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The AutoNation Cure Bowl is played each December at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. The game is televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. The 2018 AutoNation Cure Bowl will be played on Dec. 15, while the 2019 AutoNation Cure Bowl will be contested on Dec. 21. Although Liberty is currently in the middle of its two-year FBS transition process, the NCAA bylaws do have provisions for the Flames to qualify for a bowl game in 2018 provided Liberty has successfully transitioned to year two of its FBS transitional status and is a deserving team SLOGANS Liberty Athletics has adopted the Rise With Us slogan for the athletics year, with the football program moving up to the FBS level and 17 of the Flames other 19 programs moving to the ASUN Conference. As a team, Liberty s football program has selected the theme Respect All, Fear None based on the Bible scripture passage in I Peter 2:17. Liberty Football will Respect All, as it faces its most challenging schedule in program history, but will Fear None as it ventures into its first season of FBS football. 7
