GONZAGA STORYLINES - Gonzaga is second in the West Coast Conference, and 23rd in the nation, in rebound margin (+8.3). - The Bulldogs 1,096 rebounds top the conference and ranks 25th in the country. - GU is holding opponents to 56.7 points per game, which leads the West Coast Conference and is 39th in the nation. - The Zags are 31-0 under Lisa Fortier when they score 70 points and 22-1 when opponents are held to 57 or less. - Gonzaga is holding opponents to 36.9 percent from the field, which is second in the WCC and 55th in the country. - The Bulldogs have gone 67 straight games without allowing an opponent to shoot 50 percent from the field. - Shelby Cheslek moved to second all-time on the program s career rebound list with She is one block away from the top-10 in West Coast Conference history with Chelsea Waters played in her 100th game at Gonzaga Thursday night at Saint Mary s. - Jill Barta has made 61 of her 66 (92.4 percent) free-throws in WCC play, which tops the conference. ABOUT THE TIGERS - Pacific comes in after coasting to an victory over Portland Thursday. The Tigers held Portland to 24 percent shooting. - Before beating Portland, Pacific unloaded a season-high 92 points for a 28-point win at Pepperdine. - The Tigers have set season highs in margin of victory in back-to-back games. - In those two wins, Mauriana Clayton has posted back-to-back double-doubles, both when coming off the bench. - Pacific leads the conference with an average of 6.8 three-pointers made per game, which also ranks 52nd in the nation. - Hailie Eackles (12.9), Desire Finnie (11.3), and GeAnna Luaulu-Summers (10.5) are averaging double-figures per game. - Luaulu-Summers leads the WCC with a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. That mark is also 26th in the country. SERIES HISTORY - Thursday is only the eighth meeting between Gonzaga and Pacific, and the Bulldogs have a 4-3 edge in the series. - The Zags have won three of the last four matchups. The Tigers snapped GU s three-game win streak in the series with a victory in Spokane in the latest meeting. THE LAST HALF-DOZEN FOR BARTA - Montana native Jill Barta is averaging 20.5 points per game over the last six contests, scoring at least 25 points in three of the games. The redshirt freshman is adding 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals over the last six outings. - During the span she s making 43.9 percent from the field, 12-of-32 (37.5 percent) from behind-the-arc, and 39- of-42 from the free-throw line (92.9 percent). SIX NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE - Shelby Cheslek led six Gonzaga selections on the West Coast Conference All-Academic lists Friday. - Cheslek was named to the conference s All-Academic team for the first time in her career. The redshirt senior was tabbed honorable mention the past two seasons. - The Masters of Business Administration student boasts a 3.62 cumulative GPA. - Fellow redshirt senior, Shaniqua Nilles was named honorable mention for the second straight season. - Nilles is working toward her Masters of Communication of Leadership and has a 3.63 GPA. - Georgia Stirton was recognized for the first time on the All-Academic list. She has a 3.26 GPA as a Special Education major. - Elle Tinkle (3.46, Nursing) was named honorable mention. She was also selected to last year s Academic All- Conference team. - Kiara Kudron (3.36, Physical Education) and Emma Stach (3.62, Psychology) were also on the honorable mention list. PACKING THE MAC - Gonzaga is 10th in the nation in accumulative attendance with 83,638 fans in 15 home games. - The Zags 5,576 average fans per game ranks 12th in the country. - The Bulldogs are also third in the NCAA filling the 6,000-seat McCarthey Athletic Center to percent. CHASING MILESTONES - Shelby Cheslek - Cheslek is first in program history with 200 career blocks. - The senior needs one block to move into the top-10 in West Coast Conference history. - She is also second in GU history with 875 rebounds. HOME SWEET HOME IN WCC PLAY - GU has won 37 of the last 39 home games versus WCC opponents. - Since 2010, the Bulldogs are 52-3 against conference opponents at home. - At home against conference opponents, the Zags are 97-7 (.930) since The seven losses were to Pepperdine ( 03, 07), San Francisco ( 04), Portland ( 09), St. Mary s ( 12, 16), and Pacific ( 15). Five of the seven losses were by six points or less. IN THE MCCARTHEY ATHLETIC CENTER - Since the McCarthey Athletic Center opened in 2004, GU has gone (.883). - The Bulldogs went undefeated at 14-0 in the McCarthey Athletic Center during the campaign, the first season it was open; went 15-0 during the season and finished last season with a perfect 16-0 record. - Seven of the 21 losses have been to Pacific-12 Conference members - Stanford (three times), USC (twice), Arizona State, and Washington State (twice). - Against West Coast Conference opponents, the Zags are 91-6 (.944) in the MAC. - Gonzaga averaged 5,366 fans per game last season at home, which was 13th in the nation. The Bulldogs averaged 89.4 percent filled to capacity, which was third in the country. TINKLE OUT FOR SEASON - Elle Tinkle will be out for the remainder of the season with an injury to her right knee. - The senior suffered the injury earlier in the season and had surgery on Jan Tinkle appeared 110 games during her career at Gonzaga. She started in all 10 of her appearances this season. - The Missoula, Mont. native averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in those 10 showings. WOLFRAM OUT FOR SEASON - Emma Wolfram will be out for the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee. - The redshirt sophomore suffered the injury during a practice. - After fighting back from a shoulder injury, Wolfram appeared in only one game this season for the Zags. - The Kamloops, B.C. native, scored two points and made a block in eight minutes versus Montana State. 2

As a team, the Dons finished with 34.4 percent shooting from distance, with Proctor hitting 5-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc. The Gaels (20-6, 11-4 West Coast Conference) limited GU to 29.3 percent shooting from the field. After making 34.5 percent from the field in the first half, the Bulldogs made seven of their 29 (24.1 percent) shots in the second half. Gonzaga was 3-of-22 from behind-the-arc. Saint Mary s was led by Stella Beck s 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. She grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and made all eight of her free-throw shots. Sydney Raggio added 12 points. The Gaels finished at 46.2 percent from the field, after making 55.2 percent in the first half. They were also 6-of-14 from three-point range. SMC made all 12 of its free-throw attempts. Saint Mary s outrebounded GU, Gonzaga made its first three shots from the field and jumped out to an 8-2 lead just over two minutes into the game. Trailing at the 6:15 mark of the first quarter, SMC went on an 18-2 run and never trailed again. The Gaels led at halftime, Jill Barta led the Bulldogs (17-10, 9-6 WCC) with 20 points. The redshirt freshman was 7-of-16 from the field and blocked four shots. Shelby Cheslek contributed 10 points. Cheslek grabbed six rebounds and moved to second on the program s all-time rebound list. The senior passed Heather Bowman and now has 875 rebounds in her four-year career. Cheslek also blocked her 200th career shot in Thursday s game. She is one block away from 10th in conference history. Cheslek finished with her seventh double-double of the season, and 16th of her career, with 12 points and 13 rebounds. She added a career-high seven assists and blocked two shots. The senior also climbed to second on the program s all-time rebound list. She now has 836 in her four-year stint with the Zags. Gonzaga (14-7, 6-3 West Coast Conference) also snapped a three-game skid and are two games back of league-leaders San Diego and BYU at the halfway point of the conference schedule. The Zags had an early 12-5 run in the third quarter and outscored Pacific, 24-12, in the period. After making four of their 15 shots from the field (26.7 percent) in the first half, GU connected on 10-of-18 (55.6) in the third quarter. Gonzaga made nine of its 16 three-point attempts in the game, including 5-of-6 in the second half. Jill Barta led the Bulldogs with 16 points. The freshman made three of her five shots behind-the-arc. Emma Stach also hit a trio of three-point shots and had 13 points. She missed her first two shots from the field Saturday, before making her last four. Gonzaga once again dominated the glass. 12 HEAD COACH LISA FORTIER SECOND YEAR - CAL STATE-MONTEREY BAY, 2004 After spending much of the last decade as a member of the Gonzaga University women s basketball staff, including seven as an assistant, Lisa Fortier was named the program s head coach on April 14, GAME 28 at PACIFIC page 12 In her first season as a head coach in , Fortier oversaw one of the nation s more efficient offenses. The Bulldogs outscored opponents by 10.0 points per game. GU made 534 free-throws and 211 three-pointers this season, both new program records. Fortier was the 2015 recipient of the WBCA Division I Rookie Coach of the Year Award. Fortier had the best first season any head coach in Gonzaga women s basketball history has ever had. Her 26 wins and 76.5 winning percentage were both top of the list among first year finishes for any GU women s basketball coach. Fortier led Gonzaga to a 26-8 finish and its seventh-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. GU made its fourth appearance in the Sweet 16, after a pair of upsets in the first and second rounds as an 11-seed. Fortier was named the West Coast Conference co-coach of the Year after guiding the Zags to their 11th straight conference regular season title. During the season, Gonzaga won 16 straight games, the fifth-longest win streak in program history. GU enjoyed its seventh-straight 25-win season. Fortier first came to Gonzaga in 2004, spending two years as the coordinator of basketball operations. She then spent one season as an assistant coach at the University of Northern Colorado before returning to GU in In her seven years as a Gonzaga assistant, the Bulldogs have produced an overall record of The Zags have dominated the West Coast Conference during that span, compiling a 98-8 mark to go with seven consecutive WCC regular-season championships and five WCC Tournament titles. After a second-round appearance in the WNIT in Fortier s first season as an assistant, the Zags have qualified for the NCAA Tournament each of the last seven years, which included a stretch of three straight Sweet Sixteens from The highlight was an Elite Eight run in 2011, in which the Bulldogs upset three higher-seeded teams. In addition to serving as Gonzaga s recruiting coordinator, Fortier has been responsible for coordinating GU s defense. She also spent time coaching Gonzaga s guards. She has mentored two WNBA draftees in Courtney Vandersloot and Katelan Redmon as well as Haiden Palmer, a 2014 draft hopeful. She also coached Taelor Karr, the WCC Player of the Year.
