3 FUN with NUMBERS 1,054 Jasmine Erving became the ninth player in school history with 1,000 points, currently standing at 1,054 for her career. 543 RECAPPING LAST WEEK The Cal State Northridge women s basketball team dropped both of its games last week, falling at Cal State Bakersfield and at UC Santa Barbara. Against the Roadrunners, Jasmine Erving just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds, but turnovers and poor shooting haunted the Matadors in their loss to the Roadrunners. Leading 13-9 midway through the first half, the host Roadrunners closed the opening frame on a 26-9 run to take a lead into halftime. The second half proved not much better for CSUN, who could not get any closer than 16 points the rest of the way. CSUN finished with 24 turnovers for the game with every Matador who played except one committing at least one miscue. Coupled with a 28.1 field goal percentage (16-of-57) for the game and it made for a long night for Northridge. Erving and Haley White each scored 13 points for CSUN, but the Matadors could not overcome a slow finish to the first half and start to the second half. The Matadors entered halftime trailing At one point, CSUN was down only 26-22, but the Gauchos closed out the opening frame on a 15-4 run. Erving had 13 points and four rebounds at the break to lead Northridge. In the second half, CSUN came out sluggish, eventually falling behind by as many as 30 with four minutes left in the contest. Erving was held scoreless in the second half and the Matadors shot 29.4 percent (10-of-34) from the field. With 543 career rebounds, Analee Viena-Lota now stands at 7th in school history and just four shy of moving into sixth. 4 Saturday s game against Pacific represents the final regular season home game for four Matadors: Anna Simmons, Analee Viena-Lota, Janet Alvarado and Bianca Davies. 101 Freshman Haley White ranks second in the Big West with 101 assists, an average of 3.6 per game.
