Michigan State Makes Plans to Honor Jud Heathcote The Michigan State athletic department will pay tribute to former coach Jud Heathcote in a variety of ways both in the near future and throughout the season... Heathcote passed away on Monday, August 28 at the age of The men s basketball team will wear a patch honoring Coach Heathcote throughout the season... Final design will be unveiled at a later date... The Michigan State- Purdue men s basketball game on Feb. 10 in East Lansing will be the Jud Heathcote Tribute Game... Backcourt Strength In the backcourt, the Spartans will look to Lourawls Tum Tum Nairn Jr. (5-10, 175), who averaged 3.5 points and 3.6 assists last year and is the team s most experienced player with 66 career starts and 102 games played...
