Semrau is already used to making a little magic happen at FSU as she became the program s winningest coach in her ninth season on Feb. 19, 2006 when the Seminoles defeated Clemson in overtime. She has guided the Seminoles to double-digit victories in ninestraight seasons and now to five-straight NCAA Tournaments and six overall. Her current coaching record is No other coach in FSU women s basketball history has coached more than 10 years with the Seminoles.

3 FSU VS. THE TEAMS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT Florida State has played 11 teams this season that are participating in the 2009 NCAA Tournament and five of those teams are in the Trenton Regional along with the Seminoles. FSU s record vs. those 11 opponents is 9-5. With Florida Gulf Coast and Murray State playing in the WNIT, that record improves to 11-5 vs. teams that are participating in the postseason. FSU s record vs. the teams in the Trenton Regional is UNDER SEMRAU IN FIRST GAME OF POSTSEASON Under Sue Semrau, the Seminoles play well right away in the postseason. Every time one of her FSU teams has entered the postseason, the Seminoles have won their first round game as the team is a perfect 8-0 in those types of contests. Under Semrau, Florida State has an overall record of 6-5 in the NCAA Tournament and 2-2 overall mark in WNIT games. 11+ PPG IN OPENING ROUND GAMES Since a two-point victory over Tulane during the 2001 NCAA Tournament, FSU has been winning big to start the postseason. During NCAA play, Florida State is winning its first round games by an average of just over 10 points per game. When adding in the WNIT, that first-round winning margin is 11.4 points per game. Twice FSU has won its first round game by more than 30 points: over Richmond in 2005 and over Appalachian State in 1991, which was FSU s first NCAA tournament win in program history. 4 TIED FOR FIRST PLACE IN THE ACC For the first time in program history, the FSU women s basketball team earned a tie for first place in the ACC regular-season. The Seminoles shared the honor with Maryland after both teams finished with a 12-2 record in ACC play. FSU PICKED TO FINISH FIFTH IN THE ACC The Seminoles finished tied for first in the conference this year after being predicted to finish fifth. Beginning in 2003, FSU has finished no worse than tied for 5th in the ACC regular-season. Before Sue Semrau became head coach at FSU in , the Seminoles finished no higher than 5th place in the regular season and was the ACC Tournament s 9th seed out of nine teams in three of the four previous seasons. Prior to this season, FSU had twice earned 10 ACC wins -- in the and seasons. Before Sue Semrau s arrival in , the Seminoles most ACC wins in a season were eight in , FSU s first season in the league, and the Seminoles had never had a season above.500 in ACC play. Semrau has now led the Seminoles to five winning seasons in conference play. SEVEN-GAME STREAK REACHES SEVEN FSU earned a record 12 ACC victories in the regular season and has now won seven or more ACC games in seven-straight seasons, dating back to , and in eight of the last nine seasons. In FSU s first 11 seasons in the ACC from to , the Seminoles reached 7+ ACC wins just twice. THE SECOND SEMI-FINALS APPEARANCE EVER FSU made just its second ACC Tournament semi-finals appearance when the team faced Duke on March 7. The Seminoles joined the league in 1992 and finished no higher than 5th until the season when they tied for 3rd and were the conference tourney s No. 4 seed. In 2001, FSU defeated Virginia in quarterfinal action but fell to Duke in the semi s. SEMRAU ACC COACH OF THE YEAR FOR THIRD TIME Florida State women's basketball coach Sue Semrau was named the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year. Semrau, who has now earned ACC Coach of the Year honors three times after garnering the award in the and seasons, has guided the Seminoles to the greatest regular-season in program history. Semrau's Seminoles set school records this year for most wins over top-10 opponents (three), highest national rankings (No. 11 AP poll and No. 12 USA Today/ESPN poll) and highest ACC Tournament seed (No. 2 seed). FSU also tied for first place in the ACC regular season for the first time in program history after finishing 12-2, the most wins in the conference this year. The 12 conference victories is also a program-best and the team's 24 wins overall ties Semrau's career high. Now currently at 204 victories, Semrau is far from done this season. SEMINOLE SENIORS NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM After averaging 17.0 and 16.0 points per game in two games, respectively, Florida State seniors Tanae Davis-Cain and Mara Freshour were named to the 2009 ACC All-Tournament Second Team, marking the first time in program history that two Seminoles have earned such an honor in the same season. In the win over Boston College, both Davis-Cain and Freshour led all players with 20 points apiece and combined for eight buckets from threepoint range. In the semifinal loss to Duke, the pair were the only Seminoles to score in double figures as Davis-Cain had 14 points and Freshour added 12. Davis-Cain and Freshour are used to making history as Seminoles. The duo will be the first in program history to play in four straight NCAA Tournaments, have led Florida State to its highest national ranking and led the Seminoles to a first-place finish in the ACC regular-season, also a program-first. Davis-Cain and Freshour join three other former Seminoles who earned ACC All-Tournament Team honors in their careers. Tia Paschal (1993, first team), Latavia Coleman (2000, first team) and Brooke Wyckoff (2001, second team) also garnered the distinction. THREE NAMED TO ALL-ACC TEAMS On the heels of the greatest regular season in program history, it's only fitting that Florida State was well-represented on the 2009 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball teams. The Seminoles finished tied with UNC for most selections this year as junior forward Jacinta Monroe was named to the second team and senior guards Mara Freshour and Tanae Davis-Cain were placed on the third team. Monroe's placement on the second team marks the second time in her career that she has garnered postseason attention from the conference as she was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team in She has been FSU s leader on both ends of the floor all season, has eight double-doubles and has led Florida State in scoring in 13 games and in rebounding in 19 games. As for FSU's senior co-captains, Freshour and Davis-Cain's placement on the third team recognizes two players that will have helped guide their team to an NCAA Tournament berth in each of their four seasons. Davis-Cain has been recognized for the second-straight season. A year after being named to the 2008 All-ACC Honorable Mention Team, the Dawson, Ga., native was rewarded for a regular season that saw her become FSU's all-time career leader in three-pointers made. This season marks the 12th-straight season that a Seminole player has been named to an All-ACC team. MONROE NAMED TO ACC ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM The ACC coaches began picking an ACC All-Defensive Team in 2000 and an FSU player has been among the five-member team in six of the nine years, including Jacinta Monroe who earned the honor in addition to being named to the All-ACC Second Team. During the regular-season, Monroe paced FSU with team bests in rebounds (7.8 rpg) and blocks (2.5 bpg). With a teambest 76 blocks in the regular season, Monroe became FSU s career leader in blocks in the Miami win on February 22nd and now has 219 career blocks

5 after swatting two against Boston College. She set a new FSU record with nine blocks in the win over Georgia Tech this season -- a mark that was an ACC best this season. The Sandusky, Ohio native averaged a team fourth-best 9.7 ppg and finished third on the team with 4.8 rpg in the regular season. Since joining the ACC in 1992, FSU has had eight players earn ACC All-Freshman team honors: FSU S ALL-TIME ACC ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM HONOREES 1992 Connie Robinson 1996 Latavia Coleman 1997 Brooke Wyckoff 1999 April Traylor 2004 Shante Williams 2006 Britany Miller 2007 Jacinta Monroe 2009 Cierra Bravard MONROE GETTING CLOSER TO ANOTHER RECORD Jacinta Monroe has already become the all-time blocks leader in FSU program history and now she is closing in on another mark. With her two blocks in the ACC Tournament, she now has 78 swats on the season and is just two shy of tying former Seminole Brooke Wyckoff s school record for blocks in a season with 80. FRESHOUR ONE AWAY FROM GAMES-PLAYED RECORD By suiting up and playing for the Seminoles in the opening game of the NCAA Tournament, senior guard Mara Freshour will tie the FSU record for most games played in a career at 130. Fellow senior Tanae Davis-Cain has also officially moved inside the top 10 in this category. Career Games Played Career Record: 1. Florida State s ranking of No. 11 in the Feb. 23 Associated Press poll and No. 12 in the Feb. 24 USA TODAY/ESPN Poll, are the highest rankings in program history. FSU has spent 11 weeks in the AP Top 25 this season (two at the beginning of the season and nine currently), which is also a program record. TIED SCHOOL RECORD FOR WINS OVER RANKED FOES By defeating then-no. 7/8 North Carolina last month, the Seminoles tied the school record for most wins over a ranked opponent in a season with five. The last time that the Seminoles had this many wins over ranked teams occurred during the season. FSU has also earned victories this year over No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 25 Georgia Tech, No. 14 Virginia, and No. 3 Duke. FSU AGAINST RANKED FOES The Seminoles have gone 5-4 vs. ranked opponents this season and achieved four-straight victories against top 25 opponents before the buzzerbeater loss to No. 8 Maryland. The Seminoles beat No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 3 Duke, and No. 24 Georgia Tech at home, but also beat No. 14 Virginia on the road in Charlottesville, Va. That victory marked the first time since 2005 that the Seminoles had beaten a ranked opponent in a true road game. In that season, Florida State defeated No. 23 Virginia Tech in double overtime. Florida State fell to No. 8 Duke, No. 21 Virginia, No. 8 Maryland and No. 1 UConn this year. MOST WINS EVER OVER TOP-10 TEAMS FSU has set a program record this season by beating three top-10 opponents: No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 3 Duke and No. 8 UNC -- all at home. 20+ WINS YET AGAIN Since when season records were kept, FSU has recorded eight 20- win seasons, including four of the last five seasons, and only Sue Semrau has led a team to this feat more than twice and she s done so four times. 6 WARD MOVING UP THE ASSIST LIST With an ACC-best 144 assists in the regular season, sophomore point guard Courtney Ward added 14 more in the ACC Tournament to move to second all-time at FSU for most assists in a single season. The all-time singleseason record in the category at FSU is 184 assists set by Shirley Silsby in the season. Assists in a Season FSU Record: 1. Shirley Silsby Courtney Ward 158 DAVIS-CAIN BREAKS FRESHOUR S RECORD Senior guard Tanae Davis-Cain made eight three-pointers in the ACC Tournament and now has made 73 of her three-point attempts this season. That total breaks fellow senior guard Mara Freshour s FSU single-season high of 66 triples made in a season - a record she set last year. SHE ALSO BREAKS HER OWN RECORD Two years ago, Tanae Davis-Cain set a new Seminole record by taking 181 three-point attempts in a season. This year, the Dawson, Ga., native broke her own record with seven three-point attempts against Boston College and added 11 more in the loss to Duke. The new record is now Davis-Cain s 196 three-point attempts in a season. NEW SEASON HIGH FOR SEMRAU By defeating Boston College in the ACC Tournament, FSU head coach Sue Semrau set a new career high with 25 wins in a single season. Twice in her 12-year tenure the Seminoles have earned 24 victories after finishing with a 24-8 record during the season and a record in but had never reached 25 porior to this season. The all-time program record for most wins occurred in when the FSU squad completed its season with a mark of overall. WARD FROM LONG DISTANCE In addition to getting her teammates involved on a regular basis, Courtney Ward is making her presence felt from behind the arc this season. In her rookie year a season ago, Ward made just 29 triples all season but has 34 makes from long distance this year. Ward s proficiency behind the threepoint line has been some of the best the program has ever seen. She is currently shooting.523 (34-for-67) from behind the arc, and.428 (63-for- 149) for her career. That would place her first on both the single-season and career lists in FSU history. Season three-point FG% (min 20 made) 1. Courtney Ward, (32 games) 2. Robin Storey, (27 games) 3. The previous high for conference road wins was six back in the season. The Seminoles have had a winning ACC road record just four times since joining the league in and those have been in four of the last five seasons. UNBLEMISHED ON THE ROAD IN AWAY GAMES It s not easy to win on the road but don t tell that to FSU. For the first time ever, the Seminoles finished with a perfect record in road games by going Florida State and No. 1-ranked UConn are the only women s basketball teams in the country that finished undefeated on the road on an opponent s court. KEEP IT UNDER 15! FSU s 12 turnovers against Boston College in the ACC Tournament is a perfect example of how important it is to protect the basketball. The Seminoles are now a perfect 5-0 in games where they commit less than 15 turnovers. The Seminoles had exactly 15 giveaways in the loss to Duke. WE LL TAKE CHARITY! Florida State has attempted 188 more free-throws than its opponents this season on the way to 752 free-throw attempts on the year. In the regularseason finale against Wake Forest, the Seminoles attempted 24 more free throws than Demon Deacons and have recorded more free throw attempts than their opponents in 22 games this season after doing so against Boston College and Duke in the ACC Tournament. This season, FSU has attempted 30+ free throws six times, including five of the last seven games and is averaging 23.5 free-throw attempts on the year. WHEN HOLDING TEAMS TO UNDER 40% SHOOTING The Seminoles held their opponents to under 40 percent shooting a staggering 19 times in the regular season and did so once again against Boston College in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. Even more impressive is the fact that FSU is 19-1 in games where the opponent shoots below the 40-percent mark from the field. THE DEFENSE HAS STEPPED IT UP Florida State s success this season can be directly attributed to the Seminoles improved play on the defensive end. Compared to the season when the team finished the year (10-4 in ACC) and set many new records for defense, this year s squad has been even more impressive. Category Opp. points per game Opp. field goal pct Opp. rebound avg Opp. turnovers per game Opp. assists per game DAVIS-CAIN, FRESHOUR BOTH OVER 1,000 POINTS Senior guards Mara Freshour and Tanae Davis-Cain both joined an elite club during the regular season. That s because both surpassed the 1,000- point scoring plateau for the respective careers. Both Davis-Cain and Freshour are also Nos. 1 and 2 at FSU in most three-pointers made in a career. 1,000-Point Club Tanae Davis-Cain: 1,244 Mara Freshour: 1,099 Career Three-Pointers 1. Tanae Davis-Cain: Mara Freshour: 166 FROM THREE-POINT RANGE THIS SEASON Florida State is shooting 38.1 percent from long range overall this season on 180-of-472, which is the program s best percentage since the season when the Seminoles shot 43.4 percent but on just 56-of-129 shooting. MAKING THE MOST OF HER TIME Cayla Moore has been making her presence felt on the floor despite only playing 9.6 minutes per game. Her 42 offensive rebounds have extended many FSU possessions, and that total places her tied for fourth on the team. MORE WINS THAN ALL OF LAST YEAR FSU s 25 wins this season is six more than the 19 victories the team earned all of last season. Since Sue Semrau inherited an FSU squad that was 5-22 overall - including 0-16 in the ACC in she has guided the Seminoles to double-digit victories in the last 10 seasons including five-straight seasons of 17 or more wins. NEW RECORD HOLDER Junior forward Jacinta Monroe made history against Miami on Feb. 22 as she officially became the all-time blocks leader in FSU women s basketball history. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native finished the game against Miami with two blocks and now has 219 swats in her stellar career after posting two in the win over Boston College. The previous record of 209 blocks was held by former Seminole standout Brooke Wyckoff, who amassed

7 the total in 109 career games. It took Monroe just 95 games to set the record. DOUBLE-DIGIT STEALS: FSU NOW 10-1 With 12 steals in the win at Wake Forest, FSU moved to 10-1 in games where the team achieves at least 10 takeaways Senior leaders Tanae Davis -Cain and Mara Freshour led the Seminoles with 20 points apiece in the win over Boston College. It marks the fourth time this season that Davis-Cain has scored 20 or more points in a game. Freshour has now scored 20 or more points in three games this season. FRESHOUR HAS THE EAGLES NUMBER Mara Freshour recorded 20+ games in each of FSU s two wins over Boston College this season. The senior has shot 55 percent (12-22) from the field 73 percent (8-11) and 100 percent (10-10) from the free throw line vs. the Eagles and averaged 21.0 points per game. GIVE ME FIVE Five Seminoles scored in double figures in the win over Boston College and each player that entered the game scored. The last time FSU had five players in double figures was in the win at Virginia back on January 23rd. FSU has now had five players in double figures in six games this season and has gone 5-1 in those games: vs. Boston College (W), at Virginia (W); at NC State (w), vs. Valparaiso (L), vs. Murray State (W), Florida Gulf Coast (W). OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION The Seminoles scored 83 points in the win over Boston Colllege, marking the most points FSU has scored vs. an ACC opponent this year. Over the last three regular-season games, the Seminoles averaged just 60.0 points per game, well below their season-average. Overall, FSU has scored 80 or more points in eight games this season... all wins. The most points FSU has put up in a game this season was in the win at Temple. 11 THREE-POINTERS Florida State recorded a season-high 11 three-pointers in the win over Boston College. The last time a Florida State team had 11 treys in a game was when the Seminoles had a program-record 12 treys in a WNIT loss at Richmond on March 21, THREE-POINT PARTY Not only did FSU make a season-high 11 three-pointers in the BC win but they also shot a season-high percentage from beyond the arc. The 61.1 percent topped FSU s previous season-high of 60.0 percent vs. BC on February 5, The 61.1 percent is FSU s best showing since the Seminoles shot.714 (5-7) at Indiana on November 3, SEMINOLES VS. TEAMS FROM NORTH CAROLINA Before losing to Duke in the ACC Tournament, Florida State finished the regular season undefeated against teams from North Carolina - the Blue Devils, NC State UNC and Wake Forest. This marks the second time that FSU has defeated all four teams in one regular season as it happened once before during the season. and six of those have occurred in just the past three seasons. Her record in one-point games is now 7-3, with two of those losses coming against Maryland. For the second year in a row, Freshour was recently named a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second-Team selection. Boasting a 3.65 grade point average, Freshour is the first two-time recipient to receive this recognition. BUMPS, BRUISES, STITCHES - SO WHAT - MARA S TOUGH! Senior guard Mara Freshour wasn't about to let a sore left side and stitchedup right eye slow her down against North Carolina. FSU's senior leader started the game nursing a bruised left side after crashing to the hardwood late in the team's victory over Miami. Not only that, but Freshour had to play the game with stitches just above her right eye after she caught an elbow in practice on Thursday that week. So, how did the Nashville, Ind., native respond? She went out and played a team-high 34 minutes, scored 15 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists, and recorded two steals - that's how. SEMINOLES SIGN TALENTED 2009 PROSPECT FSU head coach Sue Semrau announced the signing of 6-foot-3 forward Chelsea Davis, a talented post player from Middletown, Delaware, to a national letter of intent. Davis has been one of the top girl s high school basketball players in the entire northeast since she burst onto the scene two years ago. She will enter her senior season as a three-year starter and has recorded 1,257 career points and 744 career rebounds. She averaged 21.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game as a junior on her way to leading the team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks per game. A three-time all-state honoree, including first team honors in each of the last two seasons and honorable mention honors as a freshman, Davis has earned first team all-conference honors the last three seasons and has also been named the MVP of her team three straight years. Davis is ranked as the 35th-best post-player prospect in the entire country, according to Hoopgurlz. ANTIONETTE HOWARD LEAVES TEAM Sophomore forward Antionette Howard decided to not play basketball at FSU and left the team in November. HALFTIME LEADS Florida State improved to 20-2 when leading games at halftime after boasting an intermission advantage over Boston College at the ACC Tournament. BLOCKED! The Seminoles recorded a season-high 11 blocks in the loss to Virginia, which, at the time, brought the season total to 139 in only 29 games. That already bested last year s total of 135 rejections in 33 games. The singleseason record is 166, which the Seminoles accomplished in The 11 blocks ranks second all-time in the FSU single-game records. FSU managed a school-record 12 blocks vs. Mercer all the way back in TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT FSU S one-point victory over Miami late last month is now the 10th game under Sue Semrau that has been determined by the slimmest of margins
