The Ramblers have won four straight and 11 of their last 12 at Gentile Arena. 4 At 16-8 overall, Loyola has its best record through 24 games since the squad, which eventually reached the NCAA Sweet 16, opened with a 19-5 ledger. That team was the last Rambler club to earn a NCAA Tournament berth. 4 Loyola just posted its first winning month of January since going 5-4 in Prior to this season, the Ramblers were just 8-19 (.296) in the previous three January s. 4 Over the last two seasons, Loyola is 10-7 (.588) in February after going just 4-21 (.160) in the previous three February s. 4 The Ramblers are seeking their first winning season in conference play since going 10-6 and finishing third in the Horizon League race in Assistant coach Bryan Mullins starred as a player at Southern Illinois, helping the Salukis to the NCAA Sweet 16 in A two-time Academic All-American, Mullins averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals in his 122-game career. 4 When the NCAA released the latest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) scores in November, Loyola was tied with Harvard University for first among all Division I schools with a 99 percent GSR. The loss snapped Loyola s three-game win streak.

Loyola has prevailed in two of the last three encounters between the in-state rivals and four of the previous eight games have been decided by seven points or less. 4Loyola is 2-2 all-time against Southern Illinois in Chicago and last year dropped a decision at Gentile Arena in the Valley opener for both teams. Milton Doyle netted 17 points for the Ramblers that day, while Anthony Beane scored 26 to lead SIU. 4Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference, Loyola is 2-4 against Southern Illinois. 4Montel James tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds and Loyola shot 55 percent from the field en route to a victory in Carbondale nearly a year ago to the day (Feb. 6, 2016), in the last meeting between the teams. ACTION JACKSON 4A three-time MVC Newcomer of the Week selection, Aundre Jackson has bounced back from a three-game slump to post 14.6 ppg and 4.5 rpg, while shooting 71 percent (44-for-62) from the field, over the last eight outings. During his three-game slump, Jackson managed just 4.3 ppg and 1.0 rpg and connected on only 40 percent (4-for- 10) of his field goal tries. 4The junior college transfer is the first Rambler newcomer since Ralph Vallot (24 straight games) in to begin his career in Maroon and Gold by scoring 10 or more points in each of his first 13 games. 4The 6-foot-5 junior forward is shooting an astounding 70.4 percent (138-for-196) from the field this season, one year after shooting a shade under 65 percent, a mark that ranked fourth in the country, at McLennan Community College. His current percentage ranks fourth among all NCAA Division I players, and first in the Missouri Valley Conference, through games of February 1. 4Jackson has scored in double digits in 20 of the Ramblers 24 games this season, including seven of the last eight. 4 Jackson has topped the 20-point plateau on six occasions, but Loyola is just 3-3 in those games. DYNAMITE DOYLE 4Milton Doyle enters Saturday s game versus Southern Illinois with 1,505 career points. He is the 12th player in Loyola history to score 1,500 career points. 4The 6-foot-4 Chicago native was a Preseason Second Team All-MVC selection after averaging 11.2 ppg, 3.7 rpg and 3.0 apg a year ago. 4Loyola is 10-3 the last 3 times Doyle has scored 20 or more points. 4Dating back to last season, Doyle has scored in double figures in 25 straight games, the longest stretch of his illustrious career. 4Doyle also ranks seventh on the school s all-time assists list with 426 helpers. He needs four more dimes to move into a tie with Blake Schilb for sixth place. 4Doyle erupted for career highs of 35 points and 11 boards at Bradley on January 7. His 35-point outburst is the best by a Rambler since J.R. Blount dropped 42 points on Rockhurst on November 14, He is putting up 20.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.5 apg, and 1.5 spg in the last two games. 4 In the last eight contests, he is averaging 19.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.5 apg and 2.0 spg. Doyle is the lone player to rank in the top five in the MVC in both scoring (16.1) and assists (4.5). He has made 7 of his last 11 treys (.636) after hitting just 2 of his previous 18 (.111) tries from long range. 4Doyle is averaging 17.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.5 bpg and 1.0 spg, while connecting on 60 percent (12-for-20) of his shots in two career home games versus SIU.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS PORTER MOSER - head coach Overall Record: At Loyola: In his 13th season as a head coach and sixth at Loyola University Chicago, Porter Moser is known as a tireles recruiter, master game tactician and true teacher of the game. A graduate of Benet Academy, Moser is a native of Naperville, Ill., and came to Loyola following a stint as the associate head coach at Saint Louis University under the late Rick Majerus. Moser and the Ramblers too a giant step forward in , winning 24 games - the third-highest single-season total in program history - and capturing the CBI championship in Loyola s first postseason appearance in 30 years. The Ramblers also saw their final RPI improve 205 spots from the season, the thirdbiggest improvement in Division I and their 24 wins were the most by a Chicagoland school since Named one of the top 50 assistant coaches in the nation by Basketball Times in 2009, Moser helped Saint Louis to a overall record during his four years on staff and his recruiting efforts helped land several of the Billikens players that guided the program to back-toback NCAA Tournament berths. No stranger to the Missouri Valley Conference, Moser was the head coach at Illinois State from and graduated from Creighton, which was a member of the MVC at the time. Prior to his stint at Illinois State, Moser compiled a record in three seasons as head coach at Arkansas-Little Rock. Taking over the Trojans program at only 31 years of age, Moser turned a 4-24 team into an squad in one season, the greatest turnaround in Sun Belt Conference history. DONTE S EN FUEGO 4Donte Ingram has taken his game to a new level since returning from a knee injury that sidelined him for three contests. He is contributing 16.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 1.5 apg, while shooting 54.4 percent (74-for-136) from the field in the last 13 games, and overall he has connected on 26 of his last 48 (.542) attempts from three-point territory. Prior to the injury he was averaging 9.6 ppg. 4He put together a 30-point, 10-rebound performance at Drake on December 29 and became the first Loyola player to reach those figures in the same game since Kerman Ali (32 points, 11 rebounds) at UIC on January 3, The Chicago native is one of four players to rank in the top 10 in the MVC in both scoring and rebounding, joining Alize Johnson (Missouri State), Deontae Hawkins (Illinois State) and Jeremy Morgan (UNI). 4Ingram, who is averaging 13.8 ppg and a team-best 6.5 rpg this season, has averaged 18.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg in his last four home games. After shooting 39 percent from the field last year, he has improved that number to 54 percent this year. He ranks second in the Valley in three-point field goal percentage (.488) and fifth in field goal percentage (.544). He scored 14 points in his last appearances against SIU. 4Ingram s brother, DaJuan Gouard, starred at Loyola from , and as a senior, averaged 16.0 ppg. BEN S BEEN COMING UP BIG 4Known mostly for his defense, junior guard Ben Richardson has elevated his play at the offensive end of the floor this season, averaging a career-best 8.6 ppg, while scoring in double figures on nine occasions. 4Richardson is averaging 10.0 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.1 spg, while shooting 48.7 percent (38-for-78) from the field and 51 percent (25-for-49) from three-point land, in the last 11 contests. He has scored in double figures in five of the last 11 outings. 4In Loyola s last four home games, Richardson is accounting for 9.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.5 spg. He is coming off of a 10-point, three-rebound effort at Missouri State on Tuesday. 4Richardson and Clayton Custer were high school teammates at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, and helped the program to back-to-back state titles and a remarkable 94-6 record during their four-year careers. They have competed on the same team since the third grade. SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 4The Salukis have won their last two outings and have averaged 85.0 ppg, while shooting 52.6 percent (59-for-112) from the field, in those contests. Southern Illinois has scored 80 or more points five times in its first 11 MVC games. LOYOLA ADDS TWO BIG MEN IN EARLY SIGNING PERIOD 4Loyola announced the signing of two of the top post players in the state of Illinois during the early signing period in November. 4Head coach Porter Moser received National Letters of Intent from 6-foot-9 center Cameron Krutwig (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) and 6-foot-7 forward Christian Negron (Elgin, Ill./Elgin Larkin). 4Krutwig averaged 17.7 ppg and 12.2 rpg, while shooting 65 percent from the field as a junior at Jacobs High School. 4Negron contributed 16.2 ppg, 11.8 rpg, 4.8 apg, 3.0 bpg and 2.2 spg in at Elgin Larkin High School.
