Both teams have a lot at stake. The Lady Flames need to win to ensure a home game in the ASUN quarterfinal round on Friday. Meanwhile, North Alabama could move up to the No. 2 seed with a win on Tuesday. The Lady Flames will recognize the senior trio of KK Barbour, Tatyana Crowder and Melis Ucar prior to tipoff. Coming off a 15-point, 9-rebound, 6-assist outing at NJIT on Saturday, Barbour is quietly putting herself among some impressive names in program history. She is one of only five Lady Flames to rank among the program's top 20 for rebounding and three-point shooting, joining Devon Brown, Megan Frazee, Elena Kisseleva and Sharon Wilkerson on that exclusive list. Bridgette Rettstatt has scored 20+ points in three of her last four games for the Lady Flames. The hot streak started at North Alabama on Feb. 16, when she tallied a career-high 25 points, including the final four markers of Liberty's victory. NORTH ALABAMA Liberty will match up with fellow ASUN newcomer North Alabama for the second time in the last five games and for the first time ever at the Vines Center. Liberty will attempt to join FGCU as the only ASUN teams to sweep the season series from North Alabama. The Lady Flames need to win to guarantee a home game in the ASUN quarterfinals, while North Alabama has a chance to climb to the No. 2 seed with a victory. A Liberty victory would also give the Lady Flames 10+ conference wins for the 20th consecutive season. North Alabama is looking to snap a three-game road losing streak. The Lions have not won away from Flowers Hall since Feb. 2 at Lipscomb. This is the fourth straight season North Alabama has faced a Lytle sister. Emily Lytle's older sisters Bethany and Sara both played for Union. North Alabama has gone 2-4 against Union and Liberty during the last four years when a Lytle was in action, including a loss at Union on Feb. 23, 2017 when Sara Lytle went for 26 points. Two of North Alabama's eight all-time head coaches (Jeri Porter and Flora Willie ) were Liberty graduates. LAST MEETING WITH NORTH ALABAMA FEB. 16, 2019 LIBERTY 61, NORTH ALABAMA 57 FLORENCE, ALA. (FLOWERS HALL) Liberty trailed by 11 points in the second half and nine points in the fourth quarter before battling back. Bridgette Rettstatt scored 13 of her career-high 25 points during the fourth quarter, including the game-winning jumper with 57.1 seconds remaining and two game-sealing free throws with 3.8 seconds left. Rettstatt shot 10-of-11 from the field and also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Lady Flames. Brittany Panetti (14 points, 6 rebounds) paced four Lions in double figures. However, North Alabama shot just 33.3 percent (18-of-54) from the field. PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES A move from the Big South Conference to the ASUN Conference combined with an ambitious non-conference schedule has led to a considerable amount of travel this season. The Lady Flames have taken 30 total flights through 14 different airports (Charlotte, Charlottesville, Chattanooga, Cobb County, Daytona Beach, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Lynchburg, Nashville, Newark, Northwest Alabama, Philadelphia, Richmond, Roanoke and Tampa) in. The Lady Flames have spent 29 nights in hotels this season. SEEDING AT STAKE The ASUN Women's Basketball Championship will tip off on Friday with the quarterfinal, and Liberty has three possible scenarios for its opening matchup. If Liberty defeats North Alabama, the Lady Flames will earn the No. 3 seed and host No. 6 seed Jacksonville on Friday. If Liberty loses to North Alabama and North Florida loses to NJIT, the Lady Flames will earn the No. 4 seed and host No. 5 seed North Florida on Friday. If Liberty loses to North Alabama and North Florida defeats NJIT, the Lady Flames will earn the No. 5 seed and play at No. 4 seed North Florida on Friday. SALUTE TO SENIORS Liberty will recognize seniors KK Barbour, Tatyana Crowder and Melis Ucar prior to tipoff of Tuesday's game. Senior Brooke Basinger is out of town with her internship. LIBERTY VS.
