Big 12 teams played in front of a combined 798,801 fans on opening weekend, including eight games with attendances over 60,000.

Video Highlight Web Site The Big 12 Conference announces a new video service for the 2007 football season designed to replace its weekly satellite highlight feed. Television outlets will now be able to download broadcast-quality highlights 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week for each Big 12 football team through a password protected web site at Following each weekend s action, highlights will be posted to the site for download, most times within 24 hours after the completion of each game. Highlight packages will also include player and/or coaches comments about the most recent game and the upcoming opponent. All fi les will be in Quicktime format. As an added feature, all clips will be available for preview prior to downloading. First-time visitors to the site will be required to complete the on-line registration form before accessing the video highlights. Please contact Ted Gangi at 214/ or webmaster@collegepressbox.com for additional information. 12th Annual Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship For the third time in league history the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship game will be held in San Antonio. The 2007 game takes place on Saturday, December 1, at the Alamodome. Previous Big 12 Championship games staged in the Alamodome were in 1997 (64,824) and 1999 (65,035). General public tickets are priced at $99, $79, $69, $59, $39, plus fees, Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or (800) in addition to in-person at the Alamodome South East Box Offi ce or by phone (210) BIG 12 MEDIA SERVICES/NOTES Week 2 Action The second week of the 2007 season fi nds every Big 12 team in nonconference action, with nine playing in the friendly confi nes of their own stadium. Four of the match ups are against teams from BCS automatic qualifying conferences. TDs Television Partners ABC begins its 12th season as the conference s national network television partner. The Big 12 also continues its long-standing relationship with FSN for its cable rights. FSN has sublicensed select television games in 2007 to ESPN and Versus. Big 12 Media Preseason Poll Media covering the conference have correctly predicted the division champions in four of the last fi ve seasons (OU/NU-06; UT/CU-05; OU/ KSU-03, CU/OU-02). Last year the media accurately predicted Oklahoma to win the South and Nebraska to capture the North. Overall the top spot in each division has been accurately picked by the league s media corps 13-of-22 times. Following are this season s projections. North South 1. Missouri Texas 2. Each of the league s institutions also have satellite radio agreements in place this football season. All-time titlists include Texas (1996, 2005), Nebraska (1997, 1999), Texas A&M (1998), Oklahoma (2000, 2002, 2004, 2007), Colorado (2001) and Kansas State (2003).

3 2007 Week 2 Page 3 BAYLOR (0-1, 0-0) This Week: Rice Next Week: Texas State Baylor has forced at least one turnover in 21 of its last 24 games. The Bears played 16 freshmen against TCU - seven true and nine redshirt. Fifth-year senior cornerback Josh Bell had a career-high nine tackles (eight solos) and a career-best two pass breakups in his fi rst career start. After yielding 180 yards on 27 plays (6.7 ypp) in the fi rst quarter of the TCU game, the Baylor defense allowed 206 the rest of the contest (4.3 ypg), including a combined 83 in the second and third quarters. IOWA STATE (0-1, 0-0) This Week: Northern Iowa Next Week: Iowa COLORADO (1-0, 0-0) This Week: at Arizona State Next Week: Florida State Freshman quarterback Cody Hawkins is now 60-0 as a starter going back to Pop Warner ball. His 201 passing yards were more than the Buffs had in any game in Colorado has scored in 223 straight games, the fifth-longest active streak in the NCAA and 11th-longest all-time. Terrence Wheatley s 68-yard kickoff return was the longest by a Buff since Oct. 18, 2003, when Jeremy Bloom returned one 88 yards for a touchdown at Kansas State. Wheatley s interception in overtime gave him 10 for his career, tying him for eighth on CU s all-time picks list. CU s 2-minute offense was credited with two scores giving the program 114 in the last 177 times in the drill since the 1988 season. KANSAS (1-0, 0-0) This Week: Southeastern Louisiana Next Week: Toledo J.J. Bass is the fi rst Cyclone to rush for 100+ yards (133) in his fi rst career game since Blaise Bryant on Sept. 9,1989 (213 yards vs. Ohio). Todd Blythe s fi ve receptions give him 128 for his career, passing Jon Davis (126, ) for fi fth in ISU history. Bret Meyer s 16-yard touchdown pass to Blythe was the 24th time that this duo has hooked up for a passing touchdown. Meyer s 172 yards of total offense increase his career total to 8,151, moving him up to fi fth in the Big 12 annals. He moved up to sixth in Big 12 history with his 148 passing yards (7,492 career). KANSAS STATE (0-1, 0-0) This Week: San Jose State Next Week: Missouri State The Jayhawks defense has allowed one individual 100-yard rushing performance since the 2004 season (Leon Patton, Kansas State, Game 11, 2006). Kansas 52 points against Central Michigan were the second-most during the Mark Mangino era. KU scored 63 against Toledo on Sept. 11, KU has won 11-straight against non-conference opponents in Memorial Stadium, dating back to the 2003 season. The Jayhawks are 16-5 in non-conference games under Mark Mangino. Kansas had two players rush for 100-plus yards - Brandon McAnderson (110) and Jake Sharp (106) for the fi rst time since 2005 against Nebraska. MISSOURI (1-0, 0-0) This Week: at Mississippi Next Week: Western Michigan The attendance of 86,439 at Auburn was the largest crowd to ever witness a K-State football game. The previous high was 84,501 at Oklahoma in Sophomore quarterback Josh Freeman completed a career-high 32 passes. His previous high was 23 against both Nebraska and Kansas last year. He also attempted a career-high 56 passes. Kansas State held Auburn to 291 yards, including 62 on the ground. On the fl ip side, Kansas State was able to break through Auburn s defense for 316 yards. Cornerback Justin McKinney tied a career high with nine total tackles. He also had nine against Illinois State to open up the 2006 campaign. Missouri had seven different receivers fi nish the Illinois game with catches. Martin Rucker led all players with 10 grabs for 86 yards. For his career, Rucker has 129 career receptions which is No. 3 all-time at Missouri. Chase Daniel had a career high 359 yards passing and three scores. The 359 yards pushed Daniel over the 4,000-yard mark for his career with 4,233, 6th all-time at MU. Daniel s 359 yards passing is No. 6 all-time in school history, while his 37 completions and 54 attempts rank second in school annals. Daniel has thrown for better than 300 yards in four consecutive games, dating back to a 310-yard effort at Iowa State last year.

4 2007 Week 2 Page 4 NEBRASKA (1-0, 0-0) This Week: at Wake Forest Next Week: USC OKLAHOMA (1-0, 0-0) This Week: Miami (Fla.) Next Week: Utah State Marlon Lucky erupted for a career-high and Nebraska season-opening record 233 rushing yards. Lucky added 33 receiving yards to post the best all-purpose yardage total by a Husker in an opener with 266 yards. The Huskers played in front of an NCAA record 283rd consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium. The win was NU s 22nd straight in season-openers. Nebraska recorded its first 400-yard rushing performance under Coach Bill Callahan with 413 yards, while its 625 yards offense was also the most under Callahan. OKLAHOMA STATE (0-1, 0-0) This Week: Florida Atlantic Next Week: at Troy (Sept. 14) Adarius Bowman s fi rst quarter touchdown reception at Georgia was his 10th career scoring catch of 20 yards or more. With his fi ve-yard scoring run in the season-opener, senior Dantrell Savage has scored a touchdown in his last fi ve games and seven of his last eight. Tight end Brandon Pettigrew made a career-high seven receptions for a career-high 85 yards. His 31-yard catch matches his career long. Senior linebacker Donovan Woods made his team-leading 32nd career start. Two true freshmen, Dez Bryant and Bryant Ward, played in OSU s opener. The Sooners racked up 668 total yards against North Texas, the 11th highest total in school history and the most in an OU season opener. Oklahoma held the Mean Green to 15 yards rushing, the ninth-lowest total allowed under Bob Stoops. OU had six sacks by six different players, the most sacks in a game since the 2005 Nebraska game. The Sooners were also credited with 74 yards in tackles for loss by nine different players, the fourth best in school history. Sam Bradford passed for 363 yards, the highest total for a Sooner QB in his OU debut. With 350 yards in the fi rst half, Bradford set an OU record for passing yards in a half. TEXAS (1-0, 0-0) This Week: TCU Next Week: at Central Florida Jamaal Charles moved up four spots on UT s all-time rushing list to 16th with 1,821 career yards. Quan Cosby recorded a reception for the 19th consecutive game. Cosby has logged three or more receptions in six consecutive games. Nate Jones nine receptions are the most by a UT player since the 2005 Rose Bowl when David Thomas hauled in 10 passes. Colt McCoy moved past Todd Dodge (2,791) into ninth place on UT s all-time passing yards list. He now has 2,793 career yards. Limas Sweed started his 34th consecutive game. TEXAS A&M (1-0, 0-0) This Week: Fresno State Next Week: UL-Monroe TEXAS TECH (1-0, 0-0) This Week: UTEP Next Week: at Rice Stephen McGee s 65-yard touchdown run was the longest of his career. McGee rushed for 121 yards on 9 carries, the second-best rushing game of his career ( vs. Army last year) and the third 100-yard rushing game of his career. Of the six kickoffs by Aggie sophomore kicker Matt Szymanski, three went into the end zone with two going for touchbacks. The other three landed inside the two-yard line. Linebacker Mark Dodge tallied a game-high 14 tackles in the season opener. A&M has had at least one takeaway in 17-straight games. The last time the Aggies failed to force a turnover was the 2005 Iowa State game. Redshirt freshman receiver Michael Crabtree caught 12 passes for 106 yards and 3 touchdowns at SMU in front of his hometown crowd in Dallas. Junior Graham Harrell was 44-of-59 for 419 yards and four TDs. His completions were a career best and he also scored on a 1-yard dive. Harrell is Tech s fi rst incumbent quarterback since Kliff Kingsbury ( ). Placekicker Alex Trlica added to his NCAA record with 173 consecutive point-after-attempts. He has never missed a PAT during his Tech career. Running back Shannon Woods has not fumbled in 186 career carries. He had 152 carries in 2006, his fi rst year as a starter.
