OU is averaging 65 points per game, having outscored the opposition by a margin. KU, averaging 57 points per game, has only allowed seven points this season, while amassing 114 points. A check of this week s polls fi nds four Big 12 teams ranked (#5/3 Oklahoma, #6/6 Texas, #14/14 Nebraska and #18/25 Texas A&M). Week 3 fi nds Missouri and Colorado playing its fi rst home games of the season, while Texas takes to the road for the fi rst time. Week 2 Big 12 Players of the Week Sam Bradford, Fr, QB, Oklahoma Blake Szymanski, So, QB, Baylor Reggie Smith, Jr, CB, Oklahoma Special Teams - Brandon Foster, Sr, CB, Texas Marcus Herford, Jr, KR, Kansas Through the fi rst two weeks of the season, teams from the Big 12 have combined to post an 18-6 record against non-conference opponents. Four of the six losses have come on the road, with three of the road defeats coming against Top 25 opponents. Colorado, Kansas State, Missouri and Texas A&M have scored points on every red zone penetration this season. The Texas A&M/Fresno State contest was the fi fth game in Big 12 history to go to triple overtime, and the second non-conference tilt to do so. Two games last season went to triple-ot.

Video Highlight Web Site The Big 12 Conference announces a new video service for the 2007 football season designed to replace its weekly satellite highlight feed. Television outlets will now be able to download broadcast-quality highlights 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week for each Big 12 football team through a password protected web site at Following each weekend s action, highlights will be posted to the site for download, most times within 24 hours after the completion of each game. Highlight packages will also include player and/or coaches comments about the most recent game and the upcoming opponent. All fi les will be in Quicktime format. As an added feature, all clips will be available for preview prior to downloading. First-time visitors to the site will be required to complete the on-line registration form before accessing the video highlights. Please contact Ted Gangi at 214/ or webmaster@collegepressbox.com for additional information. 12th Annual Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship For the third time in league history the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship game will be held in San Antonio. The 2007 game takes place on Saturday, December 1, at the Alamodome. Previous Big 12 Championship games staged in the Alamodome were in 1997 (64,824) and 1999 (65,035). General public tickets are priced at $99, $79, $69, $59, $39, plus fees, Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or (800) in addition to in-person at the Alamodome South East Box Offi ce or by phone (210) BIG 12 MEDIA SERVICES/NOTES Week 3 Action The third week of the 2007 season fi nds every Big 12 team in nonconference action, with nine playing in the friendly confi nes of their own stadium. OSU kicks off the week in a Friday night contest at Troy, while No. 14 Nebraska hosts top-ranked USC. TDs Scoring Strikes The airways have been kind to quarterbacks in the Big 12 this season when it comes to scoring. Through the fi rst two weeks of the 2007 campaign 56 of 101 touchdowns scored have come through the air. In Week 2, 32 of the 52 TDs were on passes. Big 12 Media Preseason Poll Media covering the conference have correctly predicted the division champions in four of the last fi ve seasons (OU/NU-06; UT/CU-05; OU/ KSU-03, CU/OU-02). Last year the media accurately predicted Oklahoma to win the South and Nebraska to capture the North. Overall the top spot in each division has been accurately picked by the league s media corps 13-of-22 times. Following are this season s projections. North South 1. Missouri Texas 2. Iowa State Baylor Satellite Radio The Big 12 has partnered with XM Satellite Radio for the broadcast of select football games, men s and women s basketball games, plus the Dr Pepper football championship and Phillips 66 basketball tournaments. Each of the league s institutions also have satellite radio agreements in place this football season. All-time titlists include Texas (1996, 2005), Nebraska (1997, 1999), Texas A&M (1998), Oklahoma (2000, 2002, 2004, 2007), Colorado (2001) and Kansas State (2003).

3 2007 Week 3 Page 3 BAYLOR (1-1, 0-0) This Week: Texas State Next Week: at Buffalo Sophomore Blake Szymanski threw for a school-record 412 yards and six touchdowns in the win over Rice. He also became the fi rst BU quarterback to register four touchdown passes in a half and the first to hit the 400-yard threshold in passing. Szymanski finished the game 29-of-46 passing with no interceptions. The Baylor defense has forced a turnover in 22 of the last 25 games. Three different players recorded their first career touchdown receptions against Rice: IR Justin Akers, IR Brad Taylor and WR Ernest Smith. The Bears registered 10 tackles for loss, including four sacks in the win over Rice. IOWA STATE (0-2, 0-0) This Week: Iowa Next Week: at Toledo COLORADO (1-1, 0-0) This Week: Florida State Next Week: Miami (Ohio) Senoir linebacker Jordon Dizon leads the country with a 17.5 tackles per game average. Terrence Wheatley has an interception in each of the fi rst two games this season. The CU defense registered three turnovers in the loss at Arizona State. Redshirt freshman Cody Hawkins suffered his fi rst loss as a starting quarterback since a fi fth-grade fl ag football game, snapping his streak of 60-straight wins. Colorado has scored in 224 straight games, the fifth-longest active streak in the NCAA and 11th-longest all-time. KANSAS (2-0, 0-0) This Week: Toledo Next Week: Florida International Iowa State s attendance of 56,795 vs. Northern Iowa was a school record, breaking the mark of 55,518 set last season against NIU. Marquis Hamilton s seven receptions for 97 yards in the loss to Northern Iowa were career highs in both categories. Freshman quarterback Austen Arnaud s saw his fi rst collegiate action in last week s game and completed his fi rst pass attempt, good for 11 yards and a fi rst down. Bret Meyer ranks fi fth on the Big 12 s career passing list with 7,751 yards. KANSAS STATE (1-1, 0-0) This Week: Missouri State Next Week: Idle KU recorded its fi rst shutout since Sept. 23, 2000 (42-0 vs. Southern Illinois) in its 62-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana. Marcus Henry became the fi rst Jayhawk since Harrison Hill in 2000 to record back-to-back 100 yard receiving games, collecting fi ve catches for 119 yards against SE Louisiana. The KU defense held an opponent under 100 yards of offense for the first time since 1992 in holding SE Louisiana to -31 yards rushing, marking the second-fewest yards allowed on the ground by a Kansas team. The Jayhawks defense has allowed one individual 100-yard rushing performance since the 2004 season (Leon Patton, Kansas State, Game 11, 2006). MISSOURI (2-0, 0-0) This Week: Western Michigan Next Week: Illinois State The Wildcat defense surrendered less than 300 yards of total offense for the second straight week as San Jose State was held to 293 yards and Auburn 291. K-State has tallied at least three sacks in both of their games this season. Josh Freeman s passing total of 272 yards equaled his career-high and was the fi fth 200+ yard effort in his last six games and the sixth of his career. Freeman has surpassed 250 yards in fi ve career contests. Since 1990, K-State is when a player rushes for 100-or more yards. K-State is holding its opponents to 67.5 rushing yards. Chase Daniel accounted for a career-high 396 total yards and threw fi ve touchdowns passes at Ole Miss. It was the eighth time in the last nine games that Daniel had at least 309 total yards. Daniel s fi ve touchdown passes came on fi ve consecutive series spanning the second and third quarters. He extended his string of consecutive passes without an interception to 234, as he has not been picked off since game #10 last season at Nebraska. The Mizzou defense has registered seven turnovers through the first two games and leads the Big 12 with a +5 margin. Safety Pig Brown tallied a team-leading 12 tackles against Ole Miss. MU is averaging yards of offense.

4 2007 Week 3 Page 4 NEBRASKA (2-0, 0-0) This Week: USC Next Week: Ball State OKLAHOMA (2-0, 0-0) This Week: Utah State Next Week: at Tulsa (Sept. 21) Senior wide receiver Terrence Nunn caught six passes for 83 yards vs. Wake Forest, the second-highest receptions total in his career. Nunn has now caught a pass in 29 straight games, the second-longest streak in school history. Senior linebacker Corey McKeon picked of his fifth career interception in the win at Wake Forest. Nebraska s upcoming matchup with No. 1 USC marks the fi rst visit by a No. 1 team to Memorial Stadium since No. 1 Oklahoma lost to fourth-ranked Nebraska, 17-14, in Sam Bradford threw a school-record tying five touchdowns vs. Miami (Fla.) The redshirt freshman QB has not been picked off in 48 attempts. Oklahoma s combined point total of 130 in its first two games is the second-highest back-to-back scoring outputs in school history. The 1986 Sooners rolled up 141 points against Kansas (64) and Missouri (77). The Sooners held Miami to 139 yards of offense in last week s win. Oklahoma leads the Big 12 in rush defense, holding opponents to 33.5 yards per game. OKLAHOMA STATE (1-1, 0-0) This Week: at Troy (Sept. 14) Next Week: Texas Tech Perrish Cox recorded a career-long 67-yard punt return in the win over Florida Atlantic. His previous best was a 63 yarder at Kansas State last season. Cox had 191 all-purpose yards in the game. Adarius Bowman s 135 receiving yards vs. FAU marked the third time in his career he has gone over the 100-yard mark. Sophomore linebacker Patrick Lavine tallied 10 tackles last week against FAU, one shy of his career high. Matt Fodge had two punts inside the 20-yard line vs. FAU. Four of his 12 punts this season have been inside the 20. OSU held FAU to 28 rushing yards. TEXAS (2-0, 0-0) This Week: at Central Florida Next Week: Rice The Texas defense held TCU to 43 yards rushing and caused four turnovers in its win. Nate Jones 163 yards through two games this season eclipses his total of 153 in 2006, while his 17 receptions also surpasses last year s total (13). The Longhorns have gone 99 games without giving up a punt return for a touchdown. With Jamaal Charles 134 rushing yards, Texas snapped TCU s streak of 21 consecutive games without allowing a 100-yard rusher. Charles posted consecutive 100-yard rushing games for the fi rst time in his career. TEXAS A&M (2-0, 0-0) This Week: UL-Monroe Next Week: at Miami (Fla.) (Sept. 20) TEXAS TECH (2-0, 0-0) This Week: at Rice Next Week: at Oklahoma State The Fresno State contest marked the fi rst triple overtime game in Texas A&M history. It is the fourth triple overtime game in Big 12 history and only the second in non-conference play. Quarterback Stephen McGee, who had the nation s best interceptionto-attempts ratio last season, has not thrown a pickoff in 44 attempts in Linebacker Mark Dodge had another double-digit tackle effort with a game-high 16 stops against Fresno State. He had 14 tackles vs. Montana State to average 15 tackles per game. Jorvorskie Lane tied his career-high with four touchdowns (UL- Lafayette in 2006). He finished with 121 yards on 23 carries, his best game since a 127-yard effort (28 carries) last year against Missouri. It was his fi fth career 100-yard game. Freshman Michael Crabtree hauled in two touchdowns for his second straight multiple-td game. He becomes the fi rst freshman in school history to notch multiple-td games in his fi rst two games as a Red Raider. Crabtree had 15 receptions for 188 yards against UTEP. Graham Harrell connected on 48 of 64 passes vs. UTEP, one shy of Kliff Kingsbury s school completions record. Placekicker Alex Trlica added to his NCAA record with 179 consecutive point-after-attempts. He has never missed a PAT during his Tech career. Running back Shannon Woods has not fumbled in 193 career carries. He had 152 carries in 2006, his fi rst year as a starter.
