Last week found eight of the 11 Big 12 teams in action posting over 500 yards of offense (CU, KU, MU, NU, OU, OSU, UT, TT). Week 4 Big 12 Players of the Week: Offense - Graham Harrell, Jr, QB, Texas Tech Defense - Jordan Lake, So, FS, Baylor Special Teams - Jeremy Maclin, Fr, KR, Missouri Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech) led the conference in receiving yards for the third consecutive week, while Graham Harrell s (Texas Tech) passing yards led the league for the fourth straight week. Texas A&M has scored points on every red zone penetration this season. Texas Tech s Graham Harrell set a pair of Big 12 junior-class records Saturday at Oklahoma State with 646 passing yards and 643 yards of offense.

Video Highlight Web Site The Big 12 Conference announces a new video service for the 2007 football season designed to replace its weekly satellite highlight feed. Television outlets will now be able to download broadcast-quality highlights 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week for each Big 12 football team through a password protected web site at Following each weekend s action, highlights will be posted to the site for download, most times within 24 hours after the completion of each game. Highlight packages will also include player and/or coaches comments about the most recent game and the upcoming opponent. All fi les will be in Quicktime format. As an added feature, all clips will be available for preview prior to downloading. First-time visitors to the site will be required to complete the on-line registration form before accessing the video highlights. Please contact Ted Gangi at 214/ or webmaster@collegepressbox.com for additional information. 12th Annual Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship For the third time in league history the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship game will be held in San Antonio. The 2007 game takes place on Saturday, December 1, at the Alamodome. Previous Big 12 Championship games staged in the Alamodome were in 1997 (64,824) and 1999 (65,035). General public tickets are priced at $99, $79, $69, $59, $39, plus fees, Tickets are available through Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or (800) in addition to in-person at the Alamodome South East Box Offi ce or by phone (210) BIG 12 MEDIA SERVICES/NOTES Week 5 Action The fi fth week of the 2007 campaign fi nds Oklahoma State and Texas Tech closing out the non-conference portion of its schedules, while Kansas and Missouri enjoy off weeks. The eight remaining teams begin Big 12 conference play. Last year the media accurately predicted Oklahoma to win the South and Nebraska to capture the North. Overall the top spot in each division has been accurately picked by the league s media corps 13-of-22 times. Following are this season s projections. North South 1. Missouri Texas 2. Iowa State Baylor Satellite Radio The Big 12 has partnered with XM Satellite Radio for the broadcast of select football games, men s and women s basketball games, plus the Dr Pepper football championship and Phillips 66 basketball tournaments. Each of the league s institutions also have satellite radio agreements in place this football season. All-time titlists include Texas (1996, 2005), Nebraska (1997, 1999), Texas A&M (1998), Oklahoma (2000, 2002, 2004, 2007), Colorado (2001) and Kansas State (2003).

3 2007 Week 5 Page 3 BAYLOR (3-1, 0-0) This Week: at Texas A&M Next Week: Colorado Quarterback Blake Szymanski has connected on 14 touchdown passes in the last three games, all Baylor wins. Free safety Jordan Lake forced four Buffalo turnovers in Baylor s win last Saturday. Lake recorded a pair of interceptions, while causing two fumbles. He also registered six tackles, including four solo stops. Following their five-turnover performance at Buffalo, the Bears defense has forced at least one turnover in 24 of the last 27 games, including 16 games with at least two turnovers forced. BU has 12 sacks through four games this season after recording 11 sacks last year. IOWA STATE (1-3, 0-0) This Week: at Nebraska Next Week: at Texas Tech COLORADO (2-2, 0-0) This Week: Oklahoma Next Week: at Baylor Colorado s 634 yards of offense in the win over Miami (Ohio) tied for the 11th-most in school history, and was the highest team total since setting the school record with 767 yards against San Jose State in The Buffs 42-0 blanking of Miami (Ohio) was their first shutout since a 34-0 win at Oklahoma State on Oct. 1, The Buffs limited Miami to 139 yards of total offense, the first opponent not to attain 200 since New Mexico State on Sept. 10, Jordon Dizon continues to leads the nation in tackles with 13.8 per game. Colorado has scored in 226 straight games, the fifth-longest active streak in the NCAA and 11th-longest all-time. KANSAS (4-0, 0-0) This Week: Idle Next Week: at Kansas State Bret Meyer moved into fourth in Big 12 career passing yards with 8,159, to go ahead of Oklahoma s Jason White (7,922). He also moved into third place on the Big 12 s career completions chart with 673. In Saturday s loss at Toledo, Meyer threw three touchdown passes in a game for the fi rst time since the 2005 Houston Bowl against TCU. Iowa State s 35 points were the most scored since its win over Oklahoma State on Oct. 22, Freshman J.J. Bass topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the second time with a career-high 134 yards against Toledo on a career-high 34 carries. KANSAS STATE (2-1, 0-0) This Week: at Texas Next Week: Kansas Kansas recorded 615 yards total offense against Florida International which ties for fi fth-best in school history and the fi rst 600-plus total offense game since 641 against Jacksonville State in KU has recorded 500-plus yards total offense in every game this season. The Jayhawks defense has allowed one individual 100-yard rushing performance since the 2004 season (Leon Patton, Kansas State, Game 11, 2006). Aqib Talib s 100-yard interception return was the longest in school history. The DB/part-time WR also has three touchdowns receiving this season. Kansas leads the country in scoring defense, allowing 5.8 points per game. MISSOURI (4-0, 0-0) This Week: Idle Next Week: Nebraska Kansas State s 61 points scored vs. Missouri State were the highest total in the Ron Prince era and the most since scoring 64 at Kansas in The KSU defense registered fi ve sacks against MSU to increase its season total to 13. The Cats have recorded three or more sacks in every game this season. Senior wide receiver Jordy Nelson set school single-game records for receptions (15) and receiving yards (209) in the win over Missouri State. He fi nished with 291 all-purpose yards, to rank 10th in school annals. Josh Freeman threw for a career-high 287 yards against Missouri State. It was the sixth 200-yard effort in his last seven games and the seventh of his career. Safety William Moore s interception midway through the fourth quarter in Saturday s win over Illinois State gives the Tigers 12 straight games with a takeaway. Missouri is second in the Big 12 and ninth nationally in passing offense at yards per game. The Tigers are converting on 57.1 percent of third downs to lead the Big 12. Jeremy Maclin returned a punt 64 yards for his second touchdown return of the year. He became the fi rst Tiger to record two punt returns for TDs in a season since Leo Lewis in He is also the fourth Tiger to have two punt return touchdowns is his career. Maclin leads the NCAA in all purpose yards at per game.

4 2007 Week 5 Page 4 NEBRASKA (3-1, 0-0) This Week: Iowa State Next Week: at Missouri OKLAHOMA (4-0, 0-0) This Week: at Colorado Next Week: vs. Texas (Dallas) Sam Keller completed 29-of-37 passes for three touchdowns and a school-record 438 yards in the win over Ball State. Marlon Lucky s 11 catches against Ball State was the most singlegame receptions by a Nebraska running back. He also posted his second 100-yard rushing day of the season with 102 yards. At 3-1, the Huskers have lost one or fewer non-conference games 26 consecutive years. The Cornhuskers threw for a school-record 438 yards against Ball State, breaking the mark of 431 against Iowa State in OKLAHOMA STATE (2-2, 0-0) This Week: Sam Houston State Next Week: at Texas A&M With the victory over Texas Tech, Oklahoma State won its Big 12 Conference opener for the fi rst time since The Cowboys rushed for 366 yards against Texas Tech and had three players, Dantrell Savage (130), Zac Robinson (116) and Kendall Hunter (113), top the 100-yard mark on the ground for the fi rst time in school history. OSU kept Texas Tech off the scoreboard in the third quarter, snapping a streak of 17-straight quarters where the Red Raiders had scored. Senior Adarius Bowman has tallied 83 catches for 1,519 yards thus far in his two-year OSU career, moving to fi fth on the school s all-time receiving yardage list. The Sooners offense is averaging a nation-leading 61.5 points a game and has topped the 50-point barrier in its fi rst four games for only the second time (2003) in school history. Oklahoma s defense has 10 takeaways through four games, including three at Tulsa. Juaquin Iglesias posted career bests with eight receptions for 142 yards in the win at Tulsa. He had a pair of touchdown grabs in the game from 42 and 40 yards out. Curtis Lofton s 14 tackles at Tulsa upped his season total to 42. He had just 40 in two years entering the 2007 season. TEXAS (4-0, 0-0) This Week: Kansas State Next Week: vs. Oklahoma (Dallas) Texas defense held Rice to minus-11 yards rushing, the fi fth time it has held an opponent to negative rushing yardage since 1990, with all fi ve coming during the Mack Brown era. The Longhorns posted a season-high 560 yards of offense in the win over Rice. UT has rushed for over 225 yards in each of its last two games. With his 333 passing yards, Colt McCoy eclipsed the 300-yard mark for passing yards for fi rst time in 2007 and the third time in his career. He was 13 yards shy of his career-high 346 yards. Limas Sweed s 139 receiving yards marked a career high. He logged 100 or more receiving yards for the fi rst time this season and the fi fth time in his career. TEXAS A&M (3-1, 0-0) This Week: Baylor Next Week: Oklahoma State TEXAS TECH (3-1, 0-0) This Week: Northwestern State Next Week: Iowa State Texas A&M has forced a league-high six fumbles this season. The Aggies are tied atop the Big 12 with a plus-four turnover margin having gained 10 turnovers, while committing six. The Aggies are averaging rushing yards per game to rank second in the Big 12 and eighth nationally. Linebacker Mark Dodge had a hand in two Aggie fumble recoveries at Miami (Fla.). He forced a fumble that was recovered by safety Alton Dixon, and later recovered a fumble caused by defensive tackle Kellen Heard. Dodge currently ranks third in the Big 12 at 10.2 tackles per game. A&M kept alive its streak of scoring on every trip into the red zone. For the season, the Aggies are 22 of 22 in the red zone, with 16 touchdowns. Graham Harrell completed 46 of 67 passes for a career-best 646 yards in the loss to Oklahoma State. The 646 yards rank second in Big 12 single game performances. Harrell broke his own Big 12 class record for a junior set the previous week against Rice. He leads the nation in total offense with ypg. Danny Amendola caught 14 passes for a career-high 233 yards and a score. Redshirt freshman Michael Crabtree leads the country in receptions (13.0) and receiving yards (193.8), and is second in scoring (16.5 ppg). Placekicker Alex Trlica added to his NCAA record with 193 consecutive point-after-attempts. He has never missed a PAT during his Tech career.
