The 119 points was tied or the sixth-best single-game total in school history, while the 17 3-pointers was tied or the second-most in school history. The Hilltoppers beat No. 23-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road Dec. 16, or their second win over a ranked opponent this season. Cook, a 13-year head-coaching veteran in the college ranks, has compiled a overall record, with a record as head coach o St. Edward s. Ater spending three years building the program at SEU, Cook has collected winning seasons in our o the last ive. Since that span began in , the Hilltoppers have compiled an record with Cook s best year in where SEU posted a 22-8 record and tied or third in the Heartland Conerence while earning the program s irst national ranking since During his tenure, Cook has coached nine players to 13 all-conerence selections, and he guided two players to all-region honors. Cook came to St. Edward s rom Hudson Valley Community College, where he compiled an overall record o (.748) in ive seasons. In each o his last two seasons, his Vikings combined or a 62-5 overall record and 32-0 mark in conerence play. Cook was named Region III Coach o the Year and BCANY Junior College Coach o the Year in In , the Vikings advanced to the NJCAA Division III national tournament, winning their way to the semiinals. Cook, the Watervliet, N.Y. native, received his bachelor s degree in American Studies rom Skidmore College in 1994, and he completed a master s degree in teaching social studies rom Union College in While at Union, he served as an assistant men s basketball coach rom 1994 to Cook coached basketball at Hudson Falls High School rom where he also taught and served as assistant principal. As a high school player, Cook played our years o varsity basketball at Watervliet High School or New York State and Hudson Valley Hall o Fame coach George Mardigan. Cook was inducted into the Watervliet Hall o Fame in Cook played our years at Skidmore College and is in the top 10 in scoring at Watervliet and Skidmore, amassing over 1,000 points at both places. In 2012, Cook was inducted into the Capital District Basketball Hall o Fame in Albany, New York. Cook resides in Austin, with his wie, Stacey, and children, Emily and Colin. 3 RADIO / TELEVISION ROSTER SEASON STORY LINES CONTINUED FROM PG 1 SEU s win over Southwestern at home Nov. 14 was the largest margin o victory in 59 years, 11 months and nine days; SEU beat St. Thomas by 55 points (73-18) Nov. 23, Junior guard Landon Goesling became the irst player since 2015 to earn Heartland Conerence Player o the Week honors when he picked up the award 11/13 ater leading SEU to a 2-0 start with 51 points combined in wins over Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian (25.5 ppg). St. Edward s University is a member o the Heartland Conerence through the season but will merge with the Lone Star Conerence in the Fall o 2019 creating the largest NCAA Division II conerence at 19 institutions.
