Most recently, UCF used a big second half to post a victory over Howard Wednesday. The Knights trailed by two at the break, but then outscored the Bison in the second half. Kasey Wilson registered a doubledouble with 20 points and 10 boards. UCF connected on a season-high 14 3-pointers and recorded a season-best 21 assists on 26 made field goals. In losses at Valpo and FAU, the Knights shot a combined 41.5 percent overall, 29.3 percent from 3-point range and 48.0 percent at the line. In the two wins over Stetson and FAU, UCF shot 51.4 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from deep and 55.8 percent at the free-throw line. In their last two contests, the Knights excelled after intermission, posting a secondhalf scoring margin in wins over Stetson and Howard. UCF shot a combined 50.9 percent from the field while averaging 43.5 points, compared to 28.0 points for its opponents. The Knights are 33-4 under Donnie Jones against non-conference opponents at home, dating back to the start of the campaign. That mark includes a 14-3 record against in-state opponents. When the Knights face Jacksonville, UCF will be playing the third contest of a sevengame homestand. The stretch will conclude with the Knights first two American Athletic Conference contests: New Year s Eve against defending national champion Louisville and Jan. 4 vs. Temple.
