HEAT QUICK FACTS: THE GRIZZLIES will have to make up for e absence of PAU GASOL, who averaged close to a double-double wi 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 blocks in two games against e Heat last season. Prior to joining e Grizzlies on Dec. 2/04, MIKE FRATELLO served as a television analyst for e Miami HEAT broadcast team for e previous ree seasons. During e summer of 2005, e GRIZZLIES and HEAT were part of e largest trade in NBA history involving a total of 13 players and five teams. As part of at deal, e Heat acquired former Grizzlies JASON WILLIAMS, JAMES POSEY and Andre Emmett (later waived), while e Grizzlies acquired former Heat guard/forward EDDIE JONES. IN THE COMMUNITY: GRIZZLIES HOST LIFT UP AMERICA The Memphis Grizzlies and e Grizzlies Charitable Foundation joined forces wi Tyson Foods, Interstate Batteries, e Memphis Food Bank and oer community partners to participate in Lift Up America, a nation-wide effort, on Friday, Dec. 1. More an 30,000 pounds of Tyson products were distributed to e Memphis Food Bank and oer area social service agencies. 10 GRIZZLIES HEAD COACH, MIKE FRATELLO Mike Fratello joined e Grizzlies on December 2, 2004, becoming e seven head coach in franchise history. Fratello came to e Grizzlies as one of e NBA s most successful coaches in history, ranking 19 on e all-time wins list and 21 st on e all-time games coached list when he joined e team. A 16-year coaching veteran, his teams have qualified for e NBA playoffs in 11 of his 16 seasons as a head coach. His success carried over immediately into his position wi e Grizzlies.
