3 1. WELCOME Welcme t Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club s ninth seasn in the NGCNA (Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin) cmpetitin. The handbk prvides infrmatin n everything frm CACNC s cdes f cnduct and fee structure t ur rules f cmpetitin and general health and well-being guidelines. CACNC caters fr all athletes frm the year they turn 7 thrugh t, and including, the year they turn 18. The aim is t cater fr beginners and scial players, thrugh t thse lking t further their netball careers thrugh representative hnurs. CACNC is als very aware f its respnsibilities t ensure players enjy a safe envirnment and as such all caches, umpires and fficials are accredited r in the prcess f being accredited; and all fficials and vlunteers are required t hld Blue Cards. In additin, Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club has adpted the Play by the Rules mdel t further add t ur cmmitment f prviding an inclusive, safe, fair and enjyable atmsphere fr ur members. Netball is a great way f staying fit and healthy, having fun, making new friends, ding smething new and learning new skills. We value integrity, respect, fun and respnsibility. 5 3. CACNC DIVISIONS Players are divided int divisins based n their birth year and the age that they will turn during the perid 1 st January t 31 st December f each year. CACNC REGISTRATIONS AND FEE STRUCTURE Registratins t play fr the CAC Netball Club in the Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin cmpetitin in 2017 will be cmpleted n-line thrugh MyNetball. 11 Years t Senir Intermediate 7 Years t 10 Years Each existing player will have a MyNetball Lgin ID and Passwrd. New players can create an accunt during the lgin prcess. Passwrds can be reset n-line r cntact us at netball@cac.qld.edu.au t request a passwrd reset. All payments will be made at time f registratin. Registratin csts are as fllws: Birth Year 2017 Divisin Cst 2006 t Years t Senir Intermediate $ Years $ Years and 9 Years $ Years $160 The CACNC fee structure includes insurance, club fees and a fundraising levy as shwn belw: Insurance and capitatin: Fees set by CACNC s parent bdy, Netball Queensland, which the assciatin must pay fr each registered player and fficial. Each club must pay nminated fee per player fr Netball QLD affiliatin and insurance and NGCNA fee. Club Fees: Club fees are used fr fixture running expenses, balls/equipment, cach/umpire csts/educatin, first aid equipment etc. Fundraising Levy: A fundraising levy will be the majr fundraising activity fr the CACNC and has been included t alleviate the requirement fr chclate drives, raffles etc. All registratin fees must be paid by the first grading game. Fees are the same fr the entire seasn, regardless f when a player jins the club. Club fees r any prtin f the club fees will nt be refunded nce final CAPITIATION payment is made t the NGCNA. 7 5. UNIFORMS 5.1 Game Day Each player will be required t wear the club playing unifrm t all games. Unifrms are nt included in the playing fees. The club unifrm can be purchased at the time f registratin r by cntacting the CACNC Unifrm Cnvenr netball@cac.qld.edu.au. Item Cst Playing Unifrm $60 6. GENERAL 6.1 Training sessins All Training sessins will be held at the Cmera Anglican Cllege s curts. Training sessins are COMPULSORY fr ALL junir players. It is during training, nt in the games, that players will develp the skills required in netball. Our caches are vlunteers and we d nt expect them t give up their time fr players wh are nt cmmitted t turning up t their training sessins. 6.2 Game Days In 2017, all games will be played n Saturdays at the Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin curts lcated at 1 Sprts Drive, Runaway Bay. These are lcated next t the Runaway Bay Super Sprts Centre. Players are expected t be at the venue a minimum f 30 minutes befre their games each week. 6.3 Wet Weather Cancellatins In the event f wet weather, NGCNA will pst the cancellatin n Facebk: If it is raining and there has been n pst r cmmunicatin frm yur cach then it is still n. 6.4 Cllecting yur child With the intrductin f Child Prtectin strategies, it is extremely imprtant that yu cllect yur child frm training r games ON TIME. RULES AND GUIDELINES The fllwing are CACNC rules f cmpetitin, prcedures and general guidelines fr bth players and parents/spectatrs. 7.1 Safety Equipment and Facilities Gal psts N player shuld play r train n a curt that des nt have pst pads n the gal psts. Curts Curts and the immediate surrunding areas are checked prir t all training sessins and games, hwever, if a player r parent/spectatr becmes aware f smething that may present a risk, please ntify yur cach r an fficial immediately Players Shes All players must wear the crrect ftwear r they will nt be permitted t play. Cnverse, Vans and Free Runner style shes are nt apprpriate fr netball. Jewellery Players are nt permitted t wear jewellery f any kind during games r training. Players must REMOVE ALL JEWELLERY t play and train. This includes all piercings. Taping will nt be permitted under any circumstances. Players wh refuse t remve any type f piercing will nt be permitted t take the curt. PARENTS please be aware that if yur child has her ears pierced during the netball seasn, she will have t remve her earrings t train and play. This is nt a CACNC cnditin, but a rule f the game and as such we are bund t enfrce it. Parents are als asked t ensure that their child des nt wear jewellery t the curts as CACNC will nt be respnsible fr any lss that may ccur. Fingernails Fingernails must be cut shrt, nt taped. Please ensure nails are cut befre cming t the games. Hair Lng hair must be tied back. Ornate hair bands/clips are nt permitted as they can pse a safety risk Off-limit areas/ff-curt safety: Between curts N-ne (spectatrs, players, caches etc.) is t sit between the curts during games. The NGCNA has a strict n chair plicy between curts. Spectatrs Spectatrs are t sit well back frm the edge f the curt and are nt t walk between curts during games. Please mve back when instructed t. Children It is the parents/guardians respnsibility t keep yung children away frm the edge f the curts at all times. Bikes/scters/skates Bikes/scters/rllerblades etc. are nt permitted n r near the curts during fixtures r training sessins. Dgs/pets All dgs/pets shuld be left at hme. Mbile Phnes - Players shuld switch mbile phnes ff during games, training sessins and when undertaking ther duties. Players will be asked t turn phnes ff as sn as they arrive at the curts fr training r games t remve the distractins f making/receiving calls r text messages. 9 7.2 Health, first aid and injuries Health and fitness Warm ups All players shuld warm up at every training sessin and game. Players shuld turn up at least 30 minutes befre their games t d a prper warm up. Water All players shuld bring their wn water bttles (labelled with name) t all training sessins and games. Caches will prvide plenty f drink stps during training sessins and players shuld have a drink f water during each break in a game. Medicatin Players with specific health requirements r medicatin needs relevant t their netball participatin will be asked t cmplete a health frm upn registratin. These frms are cvered by privacy laws. Parents shuld als make their child s cach aware f any cnditin/medicatin requirements. Whilst this plicy will be pliced by cmmittee members, assciatin members are asked t assist by making visitrs aware f the plicy First aid Curtside first aid kits are prvided t each team. NGCNA have a First Aid Officer/Sprts Trainer nsite. Ice packs can be accessed frm the Rd Lane Sprt Centre when training at the Cllege Infectius diseases Bld rule The All Australia Netball bld plicy dictates that play must stp if a player is fund t be bleeding frm an injury during a game. The same applies fr bld-related injuries which ccur during training. In additin t treatment: the wund must be cleaned and adequately cvered; bld stained clthing must be remved r cleaned; the ball and curt must be cleaned if necessary. During a game, play must stp t allw the wund t be addressed with nrmal injury time and prcedures t apply. Injury time/stppages rulings may differ in carnival situatins Injuries Prcedure In the event f an injury, the apprpriate first aid prcedure must be applied. If the injury ccurs during a game, the game will be stpped with injury time and prcedures t apply. During a training sessin, it is the respnsibility f the cach t fllw crrect first aid prcedure. Recrding injury Injuries incurred during a game shuld be recrded n the incident sheet n the screbard at the first pprtunity during r after the game. The incident reprt is then used t register the injury/incident in an incident lgbk in the clubhuse fr future reference if necessary. Injuries ccurring during training sessins will be recrded by the cach and lgged in the injury/incident lgbk at the earliest pprtunity. Returning frm injury A player returning frm injury MUST prvide his/her cach with a dctr s certificate stating that he/she is fit t play. The player must nt take part in training sessins r games until the certificate has been prvided Insurance Cverage All players registered with NGCNA are insured under the Australian Netball Insurance Prgram, Willis. 10 7.3 Behaviur Players In cntinuing ur effrts t prvide an inclusive, safe, fair and enjyable atmsphere fr ur members and fficials, Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club has adpted the principles f Play By The Rules. Our club values integrity, respect, fun and respnsibility. All players registered with Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club, regardless f age, are expected t adhere t the General and Players Cdes f Behaviur as utlined in this handbk. All players agreed t uphld these cdes when cmpleting their member registratin. Please read these cdes carefully. Please remember that this club is run by vlunteers and that all caches, umpires and fficials are vlunteers Parents/Guardians All parents/guardians f players registered with Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin and Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club are expected t adhere t the General and Parent/Guardian Cdes f Behaviur as utlined in this handbk and respective cdes f behaviur flyers. Please read these cdes carefully. The rle f parents in the Cmera Anglican Cllege Netball Club is t: Supprt and encurage their child t participate in junir netball. Allw their child t participate nly if they are well and healthy. Encurage their child t participate fr the enjyment f junir netball. Supprt their child t develp scial and physical skills thrugh junir netball. Prmte and abide by the Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin s cdes f behaviurs. Be curteus when cmmunicating with caches, fficials and administratrs. Be a psitive rle mdel. Again, remember NGCNA and CACNC is run by vlunteers, wh give their time freely t ensure yur child has the pprtunity t participate in this sprt. Breaches f the Cdes f Behaviur will be dealt with in a three-phase disciplinary actin which includes educatin, suspensin and, if necessary remval f membership Respect f fficials Nrthern Gld Cast Netball Assciatin, like many sprting grups, struggles fr vlunteer helpers, particularly in umpiring rles. In an attempt t imprve ur umpiring numbers, we encurage ur junir players t learn hw t umpire and appreciate their effrts in vlunteering. 11 7.4 Cmplaints / Queries Dealing with cmplaints in a mature and prfessinal manner is an imprtant aspect f any sprting rganisatin. T ensure the cmplaint can be dealt with in an efficient manner, the club has adpted the fllwing grievance prcedure fr players, parents and caches: CAC Netball Club Grievance Prcedure. Step One: In the first instance, a player/parent wh has a grievance will speak with the cach invlved and see if the issue can be reslved. If the grievance cannt be reslved, the grievance will be escalated t Step Tw. If an incident/query invlving a parent arises which the cach des nt feel cmfrtable dealing with, r des nt knw hw t deal with, the parent shuld be directed immediately t Step Tw. Step Tw: The grievance will be taken t sub-cmmittee which will examine the issue/query and prpse a suitable slutin. The parent/player with the grievance must put the cmplaint in writing using the Incident reprt frm. This frm can be btained by cntacting the club via - netball@cac.qld.edu.au. The sub-cmmittee will then decide n the best slutin t the issue and infrm bth parties f their decisin Harassment N frm f harassment will be permitted under any circumstances. If a player r parent believes sme frm f harassment is ccurring, they shuld: apprach their cach (if anther player is invlved); apprach the caching cnvenr (if a cach is invlved); r address yur cncerns in writing t the cmmittee; apprach an executive member (if an fficial etc is invlved); r address yur cncerns in writing t the cmmittee General queries Inquiries abut the general running f the club r requests fr infrmatin shuld be addressed t either the relevant cmmittee members r t the President via the club s netball@cac.qld.edu.au. All attempts will be made t answer any genuine inquiries. 7.5 Parental supprt Parents are welcme and encuraged t attend games and cheer n their child and their team. Hwever, please refrain frm caching frm the sidelines r during the break. This is nt nly cnfusing fr the players but can be seen as disrespectful f the cach Helping ut CACNC will always be lking fr vlunteers t help ut in a variety f ways frm helping at duty days and fundraising t perhaps becming an accredited cach r umpire. If yu wuld like t becme invlved, please d nt hesitate t apprach ne f the cmmittee members. Yu will have nminated t participate in a fundraising event as part f yur registratin.
