1 BYHA REGISTRATION INFORMATION BETHLEHEM YOUTH HOCKEY PO BOX 345 DELMAR, NEW YORK Prgram Descriptins (Nte: depending n registratin numbers, teams may be added r remved as needed per Bard discretin) 6U Mighty Mites Birth years Registratin Fee $395 On-ice Sessins ~18 Skater Skills Clinic* ~16 sessins - included The 6U Mighty Mites hckey prgram cnsists ne hur n-ice sessins scheduled t begin in late Octber that are held Saturday mrnings at the Bethlehem YMCA. The prgram is designed fr children wh can skate withut assistance and will teach all the basics f hckey: skating, stick handling, passing, shting, and teamwrk. There will als be crss-ice games fr fun and learning. Als included is a specially designed, age-specific weeknight skating skills clinic at the YMCA with Cach Dave Randall. There are ~16 ne-hur n-ice sessins thrughut the seasn. All participants will be required t wear a cmplete set f hckey equipment including skates, stick, helmet, glves, and pads. BYH has several sets f laner equipment that can be used fr the seasn fr a fully refundable $75 depsit (returned when equipment is turned in). Players are respnsible fr their wn skates, cup, and stick. 8U Mites Birth years July 1 r earlier $495 After July 1 $620 Practices ~22 Hme Games ~10 T help with the skill develpment f the players, the 8U Mite ADM prgram may be divided int tw grups based n skill level. Each grup will practice n Saturday mrnings and within thse grups teams will be frmed fr crss ice games and skills. Mvement between grups (either way) may be required during the seasn t keep teams balanced. The prgram directr, n-ice caches, and bard members will assist with team frmatins.

Cach David Randall f Nrth America Hckey Systems will be running all f ur age-specific 6U-14U skating clinics. Separate sessins will be held fr all levels. Additinally Cach Bryan McDnald f MAC Galtending will be running ur age/skill-specific galie clinics fr ur 8U-18U galies. Bth the skater and galie clinics are included in yur basic registratin fee. 5 Early Basic Registratin Discunt Plicy: If yu register fr an A, B, r C team July 1 st r earlier yu will receive a $125 discunt ff f yur basic registratin fee. A minimum depsit f $250 is required at the time f registratin t secure the discunted rate. There is n early registratin discunt fr the 6U Mighty Mite prgram. Galie Discunts: Understanding the high cst f equipment and training specific t galtending, BYH ffers a discunt fr all galtenders that utilize their wn full set f equipment. Fr thse new t galtending, BYH has a limited number f sets f equipment that can be used at n charge; hwever the galie discunt will nt apply. Family Discunts: A discunt f $50 will be given fr an additinal family member registered in BYH. (The 6U Mighty Mite hckey prgram is excluded frm the family discunt prgram.) Tryut Fee: All players interested in playing n a Travel A r B team must participate in assessments/tryuts/evaluatins and usually cnsist f tw r three n-ice sessins. The tryut fee must be paid at the first tryut sessin. Anyne wh played fr an rganizatin ther than BYH last seasn, please see New Members plicy utlined belw. Galies tryut fr free at all levels. Team Assignments: BYHA is a Tier II develpment prgram and typically has tryuts/evaluatins a few weeks prir t practices. We make all effrts t accmmdate as many players in the prgram as pssible and t assign them t the apprpriate team level. If yu are nt satisfied with yur player s team placement, a financial release will be issued (assuming all cnditins f the Player/Financial release are met) s yu can tryut with ther rganizatins - please plan accrdingly. BYHA will cnduct tryuts/evaluatins in a frmat at the discretin f the Bard. Team selectins are annunced shrtly after the final sessin and the team assignments are final - n mvement f players frm their assigned teams will nt be allwed. Players are required t attend nly practices, games and clinics f their designated team. On a need-nly basis, Head Caches may require brrwing (aka crss-rster) a player frm anther team due t illness, injury ther reasns. Brrwing f players is regulated by the BYHA Crss-rstering Players During Seasn plicy and is slely up t the Head Caches discretin. Families shuld have n expectatin that their player(s) will be crss-rstered during the seasn. Financial Payments: An initial depsit payment will be cllected at the time f n-line registratin. The remaining payments fr the prgram will be cllected in mnthly installments frm Octber t January fr ur travel teams. Other teams with lwer csts will be cllected ver fewer mnthly installments. Any family that is mre than 10 days delinquent frm the mnthly installment payment may be subject t late payment fees and may have their player s participatin in BYHA events restricted r prhibited until their financial bligatin is met. Any family nt fully paid, r in gd standing with their payment plan by January 15th, will nt be allwed t participate in any BYHA events until payments are paid in full. Requirements fr First Practice/Team Cmmitment: All players will be required t sign and submit a Cmmitment Frm prir t attending the first team practice. If yu are nt satisfied with yur player s team placement, d nt sign the Cmmitment frm and d nt attend any BYHA practices, clinics r games and immediately request a Player/Financial Release. Once yur player participates in any BYHA event after team assignments are made, that player will be 5

6 technically cnsidered cmmitted t BYHA and will be respnsible fr all fees and ther financial bligatins befre a financial release will be issued. It is required that befre yur player is allwed t participate in the first practice that a minimum payment f $250 is made. Outstanding Balances: Members with an utstanding balance frm a previus year will nt be allwed n the ice fr any BYH event (cnditining clinic, tryut, skills clinic etc.) until all cmmitments have been fulfilled. A financial release, required by NYSAHA t allw a player t transfer t anther rganizatin, will nt be issued. Financial Hardship/Schlarship: BYH is fcused n each individual player. In cases f financial hardship, payment arrangements must be submitted t the BYH Registrar fr apprval. In additin, any family wh has a financial hardship is als eligible fr a financial schlarship. Schlarship applicatins can be fund n the BYH web site. Refunds: Refunds will be issued per the schedule belw. Please nte that 8+ days after the first team game, practice, r clinic, regardless if yur player attended r nt, families will be respnsible fr paying the full seasn s fee as a result that they are n lnger interested in participating with a BYHA prgram r are asked t leave the prgram based n a BYHA Administrative actin. Registratin Requirements USA Hckey Online Registratin: All players and caches are required t register nline with USA Hckey. Yu will be required t enter yur USA Hckey registratin number when registering n-line fr BYH prgrams. Player/Assciatin Cmmitment Frm: Per New Yrk State Amateur Hckey Assciatin (NYSAHA) guidelines, all players will be required t sign a cmmitment frm at the cnclusin f tryuts. If tryuts are nt required (ie: huse teams) this frm needs t be cmpleted at the beginning f the seasn. New Members: Any player wh is a member f anther hckey assciatin MUST btain a written Player Release Frm frm their current assciatin prir t their registratin with BYH r participatin in BYH tryuts. Equipment: If buying new equipment, please purchase black helmets, pants and glves t prvide a mre unifrm lk amng BYH players. Miscellaneus 6

7 Grievances: BYHA understands that at times incidents may ccur which result in a dispute, disagreement, r misunderstanding (hereinafter, referred t as a "Grievance") amng members (player, parent, cach, vlunteer, team manager, r ther.) In the event f a Grievance, BYHA encurages its members t try and peacefully reslve the Grievance amng themselves. Hwever, in the event that self-reslutin is nt pssible, BYHA will assist its members in reslving the Grievance. Please refer t the BYHA Grievance Plicy fund n the website fr additinal details SafeSprt: BYHA fully supprts all aspects f the USA Hckey SafeSprt initiative. All parents, players, caches and cmpnent members are strngly encuraged t read, understand and practice SafeSprt plicies and prcedures. All SafeSprt plicies are in-frce within BYHA. Any updates t the SafeSprt plicies verride crrespnding BYHA plices. Please cnsult ur BYHA plicies n the website fr ur plicies and prcedures that are designed t prvide a safe and fair envirnment fr all f ur players. Fr administrative purpses, the BYHA President is the rganizatins SafeSprt Crdinatr and shuld be cntacted in the event an issue arises. Per USA Hckey SafeSprt Prgram Handbk (2015, Sectin IV, page 32, subsectin Bad-Faith Allegatins) A reprt f abuse, miscnduct r plicy vilatin that is malicius, frivlus r made in bad faith is prhibited. Such reprts will be cnsidered a vilatin f the USA Hckey SafeSprt Prgram and grund fr disciplinary actin. Depending upn the nature f the allegatin, a persn making a malicius, frivlus r bad-faith reprt may als be subject t civil r criminal prceedings. If a bad-faith allegatin is prven t exist, BYHA may immediately terminate the family s participatin in all current and future BYHA activities. Additinally the family will be respnsible fr paying all full year fees and n refund f any fees r assessments will be allwed befre a financial release is issued. PLEASE NOTE: The hme ice fr BYH is the Bethlehem Area YMCA in Delmar and Albany Academy in Albany. At times, we may have t utilize ther area facilities due t scheduling cnflicts. Games and practices are ccasinally canceled due t weather r ther circumstances beynd ur cntrl. We will make every effrt t reschedule these events. 7
