Is it secure? Respnse >> Friday, April 15th, :01 PM. We use a secure nline system hsted by the Active Netwrk, an industry leader in nline registratin and event management. 2) When des registratin clse? Respnse >> We encurage all participants t register by May 31 st, 2016 fr the upcming seasn. Althugh registratin typically remains pen until divisins are filled, all prgrams are filled n a first-cme-first-served basis until they reach capacity. Further, a series f late fees are intrduced as the seasn gets clser. We need t encurage participants t register in the early Spring and n later than early Summer as it becmes increasingly difficult t frecast ur perating requirements, change ice cntracts, etc., and accmmdate late registratins as we apprach start f the seasn. We always g ut f ur way, within ur means, t be flexible and accmmdate late registratins wherever we can, but we cannt guarantee psitins nce we get int August where we have t firm up ur ice cntracts. Please register early t secure yur psitin and avid late fees, and t help us with lead time fr seasn planning. 3) What are current registratin fees? Respnse >> Fees fr the seasn are as fllws: - Ages 4 t 8 $445 - Ages 9 t 16 $490 - Over 16 $360 (n practices) Nte: Late fees take effect, June 1 st, August 1 st, September 1 st, and Nvember 1 st. 2 4) Hw is payment made? Respnse >> Payment is accepted nline thrugh ur registratin system nly. Yu may pay by Visa, Mastercard r American Express. If yu are unable t pay by these methds, please cntact us s we can discuss making alternate arrangements. 5) D yu have a deferred payment ptin? It wuld be nice if we did nt have t pay full registratin fees all at nce. Respnse >> Yes. BCHL was ne f the first leagues t intrduce the ptin fr autmated payment by installments t spread payment ut ver a number mnths befre seasn starts? If yu register befre May 31 st, yu have the ptin f spreading payments ver (4) mnthly installments that will be billed autmatically t yur credit card n the first f every mnth until paid in full. This is reduced t ptin t pay ver (3) installments starting June 1st and then deferred payment ptin is unavailable after June 30 th. There is a $10 surcharge t pay by installments rather than in full at time f registratin. 6) Hw much fundraising will ur family have t d t ffset registratin fees? Respnse >> Nne. We d nt require ur members t participate in fund raising campaigns in rder t subsidize the cst f their registratin fees. 7) When des the seasn start? 3 12) I believe my child may be t strng r t weak in skill level r t big r t small in size t play in his/her age-apprpriate divisin. Can I register in a divisin abve r belw their age-apprpriate divisin? Respnse >> Yes, but at the discretin f the divisin cnvenr. We will make cnsideratins fr player size, experience, and skill level and if it is cnsidered in the best interests f the child by bth parents and cnvenr, we may agree t have the child play up r dwn a divisin frm their age-apprpriate divisin. 13) Where are games played/what arenas? Respnse >> Timbits and Nvice divisins play n 3/4 ice surface exclusively at NTR n Big Bay Pint Rad. Atm thrugh Juvenile divisins play at Eastview Arena n Grve Street in Barrie's Nrth end. Other Barrie area arenas such as Hlly, East Bayfield, and Allendale may be used at different times fr turnaments, makeup games, and practices. A list f Barrie area arenas and maps is available n ur website under Cntact Us page. 14) We are returning members and d nt remember ur lgin infrmatin fr ur BCHL registratin accunt t register as Returning Member. What d we d? Respnse >> If yu are a returning member, yu will have yur wn, unique registratin accunt in the system where yu can register fr new events/prgrams, check yur accunt balance, print ff accunt statements, make payments, and mre. Yu shuld make all registratins under the same accunt, year-ver-year. Yur lgin is typically yur address. If yu have recently changed yur address yur lgin will still use yur ld e- mail address until yur BCHL registratin accunt is updated with yur new infrmatin. Yu can update yur accunt infrmatin yurself when yu lg int yur accunt. If yu have frgtten yur passwrd, there is a passwrd recvery ptin that will send passwrd reset inf t yur . If yur accunt has changed since the last time yu registered, cntact us first t update yur accunt infrmatin and reset yur passwrd. 15) D yu have practices? Hw many? When are they? Respnse >> Yes, each divisin up t Midget has an allcatin f practice time fr each team. There is n average abut ne practice per mnth fr each team during a week day in the early evening (t later evening fr lder age divisins). Timbits and Nvice practice at NTR. Atm thrugh Midget divisins may practice at varius Barrie arenas including Eastview, Hlly, East Bayfield, and Allendale. Juvenile divisin des nt have practices. 16) Are yu a n-bdychecking league? Respnse >> Yes - all divisins. Nte that incidental cntact is still an element f the game, but bdy checking is nt allwed s we are a n-bdy checking league and nt necessarily a nncntact league. 17) What days f the week are games played? 4 18) My sn/daughter wants t play gal. What can yu tell me abut this psitin? Respnse >> Galie is nt a permanent psitin in Timbits and Nvice. Players rtate thrugh galie psitin in Timbits and Nvice divisins (ages 4 t 8) using galie equipment prvided by the league, available in league lcker at NTR. By Atm divisin (ages 9 t 10) and up, galie psitin is a full-time psitin fr thse wh want t play this psitin and requires that yu prvide yur wn equipment. While we try t plan fr ne galie per team, we cannt guarantee that if galie is yur preferred psitin that yu will nt be sharing this psitin with anther galie n yur team. 19) D yu ffer discunts fr families with multiple players registering in yur league? Respnse >> Yes, we have a discunt fr families registering three player r mre in the same seasn. Discunt will autmatically be applied t registratin fees during nline registratin checkut. 20) D yu ffer family discunts fr pastrs f Christian evangelical churches? Respnse >> Yes, as a Christian, nn-denminatinal hckey league, we supprt pastr families, the wrk they d in Simce Cunty, and the cntributin they make as part f ur league family, by ffering a Pastr Family Discunt. Please cntact us t cnfirm yur eligibility befre registering. 21) EQUIPMENT - What equipment is required t play? Respnse >> All players must have prperly fitted, certified fr ice hckey, full equipment in rder t participate. The fllwing is a checklist f required equipment and accessries: hckey skates shin pads athletic supprter - jck/jill, preferably all-in-ne with shrts and velcr t hld up scks r garter with straps fr scks hckey pants hckey glves elbw pads shulder pads neck guard muth guard (ptinal, but highly recmmended) hckey helmet with full face cage (CSA, UL, r HECC certified, fits prperly and all screws and straps in place) hckey stick (wd r cmpsite - d nt break the bank) hckey equipment bag hckey tape (clear equipment tape and clth hckey stick tape) water bttle Nte: A dwnladable hckey equipment checklist with pictures is available n BCHL website under registratin page ) Is jersey and scks prvided? 5 Respnse >> Hckey jersey is prvided n lan and must be returned at the end f the seasn. This helps us t keep csts dwn as yu are nt paying fr a new jersey every seasn. New hckey scks are prvided fr players t keep. 23) What if I cancel registratin befre full seasn is cmpleted? Can I get a refund? Respnse >> Our cancellatin plicies are listed n ur website under the Registratin sectin. In general we have a scalable refund plicy depending n when cancellatin is initiated (befre September 1st, befre Nvember 1st, r befre December 31st). We d nt ffer refunds after December 31st. 24) Can my child play in anther league in additin t playing in BCHL? Respnse >> We require that participants in ur league nly play in ne league s as nt t disadvantage their team due t divided interests and scheduling cnflicts. 25) As a Christian hckey league, what is different frm ther hckey leagues? Respnse >> The game f hckey is generally the same as played elsewhere with an emphasis n FUN, safety, and gd sprtsmanship, but we have a fcus in prmting Christian values thrugh participatin and enjyment f the game by all and supprt Christian ministries. We clearly state that ur fundatin is Jesus Christ and that we believe the Bible t represent the ultimate truth and guiding principles fr ur lives. We believe that Gd came t earth in the frm f his Sn Jesus Christ, died n the crss t redeem us f ur sins, and was resurrected and ascended t heaven, that thse wh believe in Him shall nt perish, but have eternal life. Ten minutes befre the start f each game ur BCHL PwerPlay (a shrt Bible based devtinal) is delivered by the cach r an assistant t players in the dressing rm, fllwed by a prayer. In juvenile divisin, players frm bth teams gather arund centre ice fr a shrt prayer befre the pening face-ff. 26) Our family des nt have a hme church r attend church regularly. Can we still play in yur league? Respnse >> Abslutely! Our league is pen t any participants wh lve hckey and regular church attendance is nt a pre-requisite (just highly encuraged if yu have nt fund a church hme), but with the understanding that we are a Christian rganizatin, and that ur values and teaching cme frm the Bible. 27) I wuld like t access the Members Area f the BCHL website, but it appears t require a passwrd. Respnse >> Once yu are registered with ur league yu will be prvided with the generic passwrd used by all members t access infrmatin n ur website relevant t members such as game schedules, etc. The generic passwrd fr the Members Area n website is different and nt t be cnfused with yur unique lgin and passwrd used fr accessing yur My BCHL accunt n ur registratin system.
