This prgram prmtes internatinal-style target archery, t imprve educatinal perfrmance and participatin in the shting sprts amng students. Nearly everyne can enjy success in archery whether r nt they are the tallest, fastest, r strngest persn arund. Archery is a diverse and safe shting activity with a wide variety f frmats and styles. 5 Archery at RFMS We are excited t build an archery prgram here at Rcky Frk! We currently have 9 targets, bws, and bw racks Abut $5,000 wrth f equipment dnated! Necessary items still needed (abut $1,200): Arrws (abut $650) Nets (and system t hang the net) (abut $325) Quivers (abut $225)

7 Archery Academy Required fr archers with limited t n experience with NASP archery Less than ne year s experience n NASP archery team We will cver: Range Operatins (set up, take dwn, whistle cmmands) Range Safety Shting Scring Archery Academy will be held: September 11 th, 13 th, and 15 th Frm 3:00-4:30 In the cafeteria at Rcky Frk Middle Schl

8 Open Practices: We will have pen practices n September 18 th September 20 th September 22 nd Frm 3:00-4:30 in the cafeteria at RFMS Depending n the level f interest These three dates culd be pen t all interested archers fr practice OR Archers may be assigned a date and time fr practice t ensure all archers receive practice time This decisin will be made by Friday, September 8 th and psted n the RFMS Archery Website (alng with each archer s practice date and time, if needed)

9 Tryuts Tryuts will be held n September 25 th, 27 th (and ptentially n the 29 th dependent n level f interest) Each archer must sht tw qualifying scres at tryuts t be cnsidered fr selectin n the team. Archers selected fr the Archery Team will be psted n the RFMS Archery website n Octber 1 st

10 Archery Team Practices will begin Octber 9 th They will be held n Mnday s and Wednesday s frm 3:00 until 4:30 in the cafeteria at Rcky Frk Middle Schl A parent meeting will be held after practice n Octber 9 th T discuss imprtant dates, team expectatins, team needs, etc. Archers are expected t be picked up prmptly at 4:30pm in the car rider line at the back f the building. The fall seasn will run frm Octber December Archers will participate in 1-3 turnaments each mnth frm Octber December Archers need t have Saturday availability as mst turnaments are held n Saturdays

11 The Cmpetitin Team Cmpetitin Team members will be selected frm thse wh were part f the archery team in the fall. Selectins fr the Cmpetitin Team will be made in December Cmpetitin Team members will be selected (caching staff s discretin) based n the fllwing criteria: Archers scres Attendance Attitude Behavir Turnament availability (especially during Rutherfrd Cunty's Spring Break and the mnth f July) Practices will begin in January fr the Cmpetitin Team Members and culd run until late July (depending n the success f ur team) We will have anther parent meeting in December r January t further discuss requirements fr Cmpetitin Team Members (archers wh are unable t meet requirements may nt be kept)

12 Imprtant Dates/Deadlines All Paperwrk will be due by Friday, September 8 th Archers will nt be able t attend the Archery Academy, Open Practices, r Tryuts until all paperwrk is submitted. Dues will be $50 Dues will be due by Friday, Octber 15 th We will nt begin cllecting dues until tryuts are cmpleted and results are psted n Octber 1 st. Fundraising We will be ding multiple fundraisers thrughut the year as we are a new prgram and archery is an expensive sprt This will allw us t help ur prgram grw If yu have any ideas fr fundraising (successful fundraisers in the past), please cntact a member f the caching staff t share yur ideas
