The Flyers, unbeaten in A-10 action, will travel to Transamerica Field to face the 49ers Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and then will be off to Hermann Stadium where they will face off against the Billikens Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. SERIES INFORMATION The Flyers are all-time against Charlotte. The Flyers were victorious in the last meeting, defeating the 49ers 4-2 on Oct. 29, The Flyers ( in the series) are hoping to shake things up against Saint Louis and post a win for the fi rst time ever. The last meeting saw the Billikens post a 2-0 shutout on Oct. 15, 2006 in St. Louis. FLYER NOTES Dayton (8-2-1 overall and in A-10) is heading into week two of Atlantic 10 action and riding a six-game win streak. UD is second in the Atlantic 10 in points (81), goals (26), assists (29) and corner kicks (70). They are also ranked third in shots (166). Senior Florian DeCamps and junior Alex Torda lead the Flyers in scoring with six goals each, tied for third in the Atlantic 10 for goals. Torda leads the conference in points scored during A-10 play (7) and is tied for fi rst in goals (3). Juniors Isaac Kissi and freshman Jack Pearson have both notched three goals. Four Flyers have had multi-goal games this season: Albers (2 vs. SIUE on Sept. 26), DeCamps (2 vs. Robert Morris on Sept. 21), Kissi (2 vs. Coastal Carolina on Sept. 14) and Torda (2 vs. Wisconsin on Sept. 7 and 2 vs. Richmond on Oct. 10). Senior Florian DeCamps and junior Zach Weiss have dished four assists each while juniors Ben Murray and sophomore Tommy Watkins have three assists each to lead Dayton. The Flyers have threats all over the fi eld as 15 different UD players have been credited with an assist this season. Senior Florian DeCamps has scored four game-winning goals (fi rst in the A-10) while freshman Jack Pearson has scored two game winners for the Flyers. Redshirt freshman Tyler Picard is still making a big impact in goal for the Flyers. He posted two shutouts in his fi rst full week of action, missing the start of the season due to injuries. His two shutouts are tied for fi fth in the A-10. He owns a 1.17 goals against average and a record. The Flyers have posted three shutout wins this season and in eight of their eleven games have allowed one goal or less. Dayton s fi ve goals against Robert Morris (Sept. 21) was a season-high. The last time Dayton scored fi ve or more goals was a 6-1 win over Duquesne on Nov. 11, The Flyers have scored three or more goals in seven of their eleven games and are ranked sixth in the nation in scoring offense with 2.36 goals per game. The Flyers are at Baujan Field this year and have an 18-game unbeaten streak (15-0-3) at home dating back to Oct. 28, SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS CHARLOTTE The 49ers are overall and after an upset 3-2 loss to LaSalle in their second game of A-10 play, are in the conference. Jeremy Gunn is in his second year as head coach of the 49ers and has a career record of Charlotte fi nished the 2007 campaign with an overall record of and fi nished fourth in the A-10 with a record of Guiding the 49er s offense is junior Chris Salvaggione, who has tallied 10 goals and six assists. Salvaggione is ranked fi rst in the A-10 for shots (44) and points (26) and second for goals (10) and assists (6). Salvaggione s 10th goal of the season makes him the second highest scorer for the 49ers since Adam Ruud scored 11 goals in Junior goalkeeper David Martin, who has started all 12 games for a total of 1080:45 minutes in the net, has a save percentage of.745 (41 saves), sixth in the A-10.

2 HEAD COACH DENNIS CURRIER With a record at Dayton over the previous three seasons, Dennis Currier has continued the Flyers success on-and-off the fi eld based on the principals of dedication, a commitment to excellence, discipline and open communication with his players. Four former Flyers under Currier s reign have played professionally in North America and Europe. Dasan Robinson, who was drafted and signed with the Chicago Fire of the MLS, also was invited to the U.S. National Team tryouts in January. Other Flyers in the professional ranks include Omar Jarun who was drafted by the USL s Atlanta Silverbacks, Terry Alvino, who earned a starting role for the USL s Minnesota Thunder, and Lubo Bogdanov who signed with Cheml in the fi rst division of the Czech Republic. Currier helped Dayton fi nish the 2007 season overall and advanced to the opening round of the 2007 Atlantic 10 Men s Soccer Championship. Using an old-fashioned method of hard-work, team play and good defense, the Flyers fi nished the season on a six-game unbeaten streak, had two players selected to the All-Atlantic 10 and NSCAA/ adidas Middle Atlantic Region teams and fi nished No. 8 in the regional rankings. 24, 2005, opened the 2005 season with a 2-1 exhibition win over No. 18 Ohio State. The Flyers also won their season opener, 3-2, at Cincinnati and won both games of their home tournament, the Dayton Marriott Flyer Classic. Currier charged his team with continuing the Flyers excellence at its home facility and the team responded with a record at Baujan Field in He guided the Flyers to a six-game unbeaten streak in conference play, enabling UD to grab a tie for second in the conference. UD then rolled over Charlotte in the quarterfi nals of the Atlantic 10 Championship, 3-1, before a 1-1 draw with Saint Louis that saw the Flyers eliminated on penalty kicks, 5-4. Four of Currier s Flyers earned All-Conference honors in the Atlantic 10 in As head coach of Incarnate Word for four seasons, Currier s squads racked up a record of His fi rst team at UIW in 2001 was , and won the fi rst of four straight conference championships. In 2002, Currier guided the team to a record, a No. 12 national ranking and the school s fi rst NCAA tournament bid. Currier has coached eight NSCAA All-Americans, two NSCAA Scholar All-Americans, three conference Players of the Year and recruited three players who went on to be named conference Freshmen of the Year. Before his stop at Incarnate Word, Currier coached for seven seasons at Harris-Stowe State College in Saint Louis, Mo., where he amassed a record. Harris-Stowe was ranked nationally from 1996 to 2000, and advanced as far as the 2000 NAIA national semifi nals. While at Harris-Stowe, Currier was named Regional Coach of the Year three times. During his 15-year career, Currier s coaching record stands at As a team the Flyers have enjoyed home fi eld dominance under Currier s direction. UD went at Baujan Field and has played well over a two-year span going in its last 12 home games dating back to In his fi rst year as UD s coach, Currier led the Flyers to an overall record in 2005, fi nishing tied for second in the Atlantic 10. Currier, named UD s head coach on January Off the fi eld, Currier and the Flyers mentor students in elementary school, give free soccer lessons and visit patients at children s hospitals. Currier is a 1992 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He and his wife Tonya are the parents of two daughters: Sydney and Morgan Elizabeth. Charlotte is 5-0 at home and Dayton is on the road. This match is Charlotte s A-10 home opener. When playing at Transamerica Field, Charlotte has only allowed one goal. Nine different players have scored goals for the 49ers. As a team, Charlotte tops many of the A-10 categories ranking fi rst in points (81), goals (29), assists (31) and goals per game (29). They are second in shots (168) and fourth in corners (60). The 49ers have lost all three of their matches by one goal. Charlotte has outscored their opponents this season, With its impressive start, Charlotte has been named to numerous polls including the Soccer America poll (No. 20) which marks the fi rst time since 1998 the 49ers have appeared in this poll, the College Soccer News poll (No. 21), and the NSCAA National poll (No. 26). SAINT LOUIS The Billikens are overall and in the Atlantic 10, including a 1-0 upset loss to Fordham on Oct. 12. Saint Louis is at home and the Flyers are on the road this season. Dan Donigan is in his eighth season as head coach of the Billikens. He has a career record of Goalkeeper Pat Disbennett has played in all 11 games (1079:10 minutes) producing a goals against average of.58 putting him fi rst in the A-10. Disbennett has also posted 40 saves (.851) and fi ve shutouts (fi rst in A-10). Seven different Billiken players have scored goals this season. Patterson leads the Billiken offense with six goals and two assists, putting him in a tie for third in goals in the A-10. Along with Patterson, three other Ram players have scored two or more goals. Making the list in several polls this season, Saint Louis is currently ranked No. 15 in the NSCAA National poll and No. 1 in the Middle Atlantic Regional poll. GETTING NOTICED The Flyers remain ranked No. 4 in the Middle Atlantic NSCAA/adidas Regional Rankings for the fourth consecutive week. Saint Louis is fi rst, and Charlotte is second ahead of the Flyers in the same poll. LOOKING AHEAD The Flyers will return to Baujan Field Friday Oct. 24 for another A-10 showdown when they take on Fordham at 7 p.m. and will be back at Baujan on Sunday, Oct. 26 to host La Salle at 1 p.m. in their fi nal home game of the season. WAY TO WIN UD owns an overall record and its.773 winning percentage is the 12th best mark in the nation. The Flyers are receiving votes in the College Soccer News National Poll. Dayton was also recently listed in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men s Tournament 48 Ranking, which is a running attempt to project the postseason tournament NCAA qualifi ers, including every automatic conference berth. ATLANTIC 10 ACCOLADES Alex Torda was named the Atlantic 10 Men s Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 13 for his outstanding performance in the opening weekend of conference play. Torda led all league players with seven points, amassing three goals and an assist as the Dayton Flyers improved to overall and in the A-10. The Hermann Trophy Watch candidate scored two goals in Dayton s 4-3 win against Richmond. He followed that performance with a goal and the gamewinning assist in the Flyers 3-1 victory over George Washington. Senior Florian DeCamps and Tyler Picard were selected to the Atlantic 10 Fall Sports Honor Roll on Sept. 22 for their stellar play in the Dayton Flyer Courtyard by Marriott Tournament. It marks the fi rst time that two UD players have ever been honored in the same week. It s the second A-10 honor for DeCamps, who was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in Picard earned the honor for the fi rst time in his career.

During the 2000 season the Flyers fi nished with an mark in the A-10 and started conference play with a 3-0 record. UD SCORING MACHINE Dayton has scored 26 times in 11 games this season and its 2.36 goals per game is ranked sixth in the NCAA Men s Soccer National Ranking Summary. Eight different Flyers have scored this season and six have scored multiple goals. Senior Florian De- Camps and junior Alex Torda lead the way with six each. The UD single-season team record for goals is 46. If the Flyers keep up their current pace they will score 43 goals during the regular season. FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING Freshman Jack Pearson scored his fi rst collegiate goal, the game-winner in UD s 1-0 win over Wright State (Aug. 31) to claim the Dayton Flyer Marriott Invitational. Junior Zach Weiss, named MVP of the Invitational, also scored his fi rst collegiate goal, the game-winner in Dayton s 3-1 victory over Denver (Aug. 29). SEASON OPENER STATS The Flyers were off to a 2-0 start for the second consecutive season. UD has started its season with a 2-0 mark or better in seven seasons, two of those under current Head Coach Dennis Currier. Currier is 3-1 in season openers at UD. The Flyers are now all-time in their season openers after downing Denver, 3-1, in their fi rst game of TOURNEY TYRANNY The Flyers played in four tournaments during the regular season in 2008, winning two; the Dayton Flyer Marriott Invitational on Aug. 29 & 31 and the Dayton Flyer Courtyard by Marriott Tournament on Sept. 19 & 21. Dayton went in Wisconsin s Middleton Sports & Fitness Invitational (Sept. 5 & 7). The Flyers went 1-1 in the UNCW Courtyard by Marriott Classic on Sept. 12 & 14 against UNC-Wilmington and Coastal Carolina to fi nish as runners-up. FIFTH DIMENSION Dayton was selected to fi nish fi fth in the Atlantic 10 in a preseason poll of the league s head coaches conducted by the A-10. Last season The six-team A-10 Men s Soccer Championship will be held Nov at Rooney Field on the campus of Duquesne University. TORDA NAMED TO HERMANN TROPHY WATCH LIST Junior men s soccer player Alex Torda made Dayton history. The talented midfi elder was named to the Missouri Athletic Club s 2008 Hermann Trophy Watch List. He is the fi rst-ever Flyer athlete to earn a spot on the prestigious list which is comprised of 48 of the best men s Division I intercollegiate soccer players. Considered the highest individual honor in intercollegiate soccer, the recipient of the MAC s Hermann Trophy is selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). A list of 15 semifi nalists is selected by a coaches committee in November, with three fi nalists announced in early December.

4 GWG-JOE Senior Joe Olwig has scored four game-winning goals in his career, tying him for 10th all-time in UD s record book. YI JOINS UD MEN S SOCCER STAFF Alex Yi joined the University of Dayton men s soccer program as an assistant coach for the 2008 season. A former standout at UCLA with international playing experience, Yi retired from the Major League Soccer s FC Dallas in April of Prior to that he played for Royal Antwerp of the Belgian Jupiler League, a feeder club of Manchester United. Yi played for the U-17, U-20, and U-23 United States youth national teams, and started all five games in the 1999 Football World Youth Championship where the U.S. finished fourth in New Zealand. He was part of the inaugural class of the USSF s Bradenton Academy, along with other players such as Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley, and Oguchi Onyewu. He attended UCLA, where he became a highlydecorated soccer player in 2000 and Yi was named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. He was named an All-American as a sophomore, as well as the PAC-10 Player of the Year and was a nominee for the Hermann Trophy. TOAST OF TEXAS There are four players from the Lone Star State on UD s roster. Juniors Randy Dennis (San Angelo), Sonny Renner (Keller) and Alex Torda (Dallas), along with freshman Jonny Phipps (Plano), all hail from Texas. THREE OF A KIND In his Dayton coaching career Dayton, Dennis Currier s teams are when scoring three or more goals, including in seven games this season. MASTERS OF THEIR DOMAIN Since 1992 the Flyers have excelled at Baujan Field with a record, good for a.716 winning percentage. Last season UD went at home and are so far in Since becoming the exclusive home to UD soccer, Baujan Field has grown into one of the top soccer venues in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Dayton twice has played NCAA Play-In games at the historic venue 1997 and GREAT GRAD RATES The University of Dayton had nine sport programs record a perfect 100 percent Graduation Success Rate in the latest GSR Report released by the NCAA. Success in the classroom is nothing new for UD student-athletes. The Flyers combined cumulative grade point average is above a 3.0. In addition, UD has had 27 Academic All-Americans in the previous six years. Dayton continued its long tradition of success in the classroom by placing 99 student-athletes on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner s Honor Roll for the Spring 2008 semester. UD showcases an all-time record of (.527). The Flyers have had a winning record in nine of the last 11 seasons. UD also advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1997 and Head coach Dennis Currier just captured his 35th win at Dayton (3-1 over George Washington on Oct. 12), making him the fourth winningest men s soccer coach at UD. SPRING INTO ACTION The Flyers concluded the 2008 spring season with a 1-1 tie over the Akron Zips, who are currently ranked 2nd in the NSCAA/adidas preseason national poll, and a 1-0 victory against Ohio Wesleyan. UD fi nished the spring season overall. FIT TO BE TIED The Flyers fi nished 2007 with fi ve ties, the most in school history. The previous high was four draws when the Dennis Currier s Flyers were in 2005 and also in 1990 when UD went The Flyers fi nished the 2007 season on a six-game unbeaten streak. Currier has 12 ties in his career at UD, the most of any Flyer coach. ALEXANDER THE GREAT Junior Alex Torda was named to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference team. Named UD s Most Valuable Player in 2007, Torda scored six goals and had five assists, tallying 17 points as a midfielder during his sophomore season with those efforts earning him First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. DOWN-RIGHT DEFENSIVE Juniors Randy Dennis, Ryan Handbury and Sonny Renner return after starting every game on the back line in 2007 and helping UD to six shutouts on the season. This year the UD defense of Randy Dennis, Ryan Handbury, Jack Pearson, Sonny Renner and Tommy Watkins have rotated on the back line and have allowed two goals or less in nine of their 11 games.
