6 Douglas County 4-H Council Scholarship Program The Douglas County 4-H Council is excited to announce a scholarship program. The Douglas County 4-H Council Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to encourage 4-H ers and adult volunteers to attend 4-H related conferences. Conference opportunities include but are not limited to: 4-H Camp, Campference, Discovery Days, KYLF, Kansas 4-H Volunteer Forum, adult trainings, etc. The funds used for this program are raised through the annual county fair 4-H concessions stand. The scholarship application is posted at under the Scholarship Application heading. Return the completed form to the Extension office at least 14 days prior to the event registration deadline. Questions about the program can be directed to Kaitlyn Peine at kpeine@ksu.edu or H Council Concession Stand Survey The 4-H Council Concession Stand Committee is seeking input from 4-H families about their volunteer experience at the concession stand. Each year the Douglas County 4-H Council hosts a concession stand at the county fair. For the past five years we have profited $9,000-$10,000 from the concession stand annually. Proceeds from the fair support our county-wide 4-H programs. In 2017 Council awarded $3,870 in scholarship dollars to 4-H'ers who attended 4-H camp, Discovery Days, Citizenship in Action, Kansas Youth Leadership Forum and 4-H Congress. Funds raised from the concession stand also support our 4-H Ambassador Program, 4-H Achievement Celebration, 4-H Club Day, 4-H Camp and more! We hope our 4-H families see the return on their investment for the 3-4 hour shift they work at the concession stand. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. The survey will close on October 2, The survey is at: viewform
