Gather up your handmade items, homegrown produce, feeder calves, rabbits, favorite pig, and best jar of jelly and come on out to the fair! We have one evening set aside for 4-H ers to pre-register your 4-H exhibits. Pre-registration will be held at the Extension Office July 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Day-of 4-H exhibit entries will be taken at the Daviess County Lions Club Fairgrounds in Philpot on Tuesday, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Many volunteers are still needed to assist with entries on July 26. Please call Lindsey at the Extension Office if you are able to help with any portion of time this day Judging will take place Tuesday evening and all entries will remain on display until Sunday Entries, ribbons, and cash awards will be available for pickup Sunday, July 31 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Attached is the form needed for all 4-H ers entering fair exhibits. Please fill out this exhibitor form completely, to the best of your ability, and bring in with your 4-H entries For those entering photographs at the fair, we have the proper size matte board available for purchase at the Extension Office, please call Lindsey for details Fair books, including 4-H entry regulations, can be viewed on our 4-H Facebook page or on our website at or a hard copy may be obtained at the Extension Office The Feeder Calf Exhibition is Wednesday, July 27, calves due on grounds at 4 p.m. Exhibition begins at 5 p.m. Open Youth Market Swine Show is Thursday, July 28. Daviess County pigs should be on grounds by 10 a.m. Showmanship is at 6 p.m., show is at 6:15 p.m. Open Youth Market Lamb & Goat Show is Friday, July 29. Weigh-in begins at 4 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. 4-H Rabbit Show is Friday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. Exhibitors are limited to 4 rabbits each Poultry Show is Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m. Exhibitors limited to 4 poultry (any combination of chickens, ducks, guinea, etc.) each. Must provide own clean cage! Fair entry for livestock exhibitors: All livestock/animal shows will be held outside of entry Gate 2 in the Tom Curtsinger Agricultural Education building. Youth exhibitors only will be given a pass for free entry into the fair, all others will need to pay admission which is $10-$12. 2 District 6 Day at Kentucky State Fair Did you know that Kentucky Statute allows for students to miss one day of school to attend the Kentucky State Fair? Who wants to go? Thursday, August 25, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. is District 6 Day in Cloverville at the Kentucky State Fair. This is our opportunity to showcase District 6 4-H! We have chartered a bus again this year and would like to have a big group at Cloverville. We are looking for 4-H talent acts to perform on stage and for some 4-H ers willing to do mannequin modeling. Mannequin models simply display their 4-H project as a mannequin would as visitors walk through Cloverville. Does that sound fun or what? Cost to ride the bus will be $7 per person which will include your ticket. Participants need to be currently enrolled and active 4-Hers. Each child also needs a chaperone or designated adult. A limited number of seats are available and reservations and payment must be made at the Extension Office by August 1.
