2 SCRUM LAW MODIFICATIONS FOR AMATEUR RUGBY PLAYED WITHIN SOUTH AFRICA DIVISION: AMATEUR JUNIOR LONG TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY: FUNDAMENTALS U/9 age grups Players aged 5, 6, 7, 8 r 9, with these players turning 6, 7, 8, 9 and having turned 9 respectively during the year in questin TAG Rugby and/r Mini rugby Passive engagement r fld ver, with pre scrum binding Fr Mini rugby Player Age grups 5 years ld turning 6, and 6 years ld turning 7 during the year in questin: 3 man uncntested scrums, purely t restart play, with a maximum f 10 players allwed per side Fr Mini rugby Player Age grups 7 years ld turning 8, and 8 years ld turning 9, during the year in questin: 5 man uncntested scrums, purely t restart play, with a minimum f 12 players per side required fr 5 man scrums OR 8 man uncntested scrums, purely t restart play, with a minimum f 15 players per side required fr 8 man scrums If a minimum f 15 players per side cannt be fielded, then 5 man scrums shuld be played as per the previus ptin If a minimum f 12 players per side cannt be fielded, then 3 man scrums shuld be played as per the previus Age grup ptin

10 DIVISION: HIGH PERFORMANCE AMATEUR SENIOR, SEMI PROFESSIONAL & PROFESSIONAL LONG TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY: TRAINING TO WIN Club Senir 1 st Divisin, Prvincial U/19, Prvincial U/21, Natinal U/20, Vdacm Cup, Absa Currie Cup, Vdacm Super Rugby, Internatinals U/20: Players aged 18, 19 r 20, with these players turning 19, 20 and having turned 20 respectively during the year in questin Senir: Players aged at least 18, turning 19, during the year in questin, fr all psitins ther than the frnt rw AND Players aged at least 19, turning 20, during the year in questin, fr all frnt rw psitins (Specific reference needs t be made f the SARU Under age Regulatins fr U20 and Senir Level Rugby) Nrmal Rugby Laws Full scrum frmatin Active Engagement, as per the current IRB frmat f engagement Full scrum cntest within IRB adult rugby Laws Frm Club Senir 1 st Divisin rugby, Prvincial U19, Natinal representative U/20, Prvincial representative U/21 r Prvincial r Natinal representative Senir teams Club Senir 1 st Divisin Rugby is the highest Amateur Level f Club Rugby in Suth Africa, and des nt refer t Club Senir 1 st teams per se, unless they are actively participating in the highest Amateur Club Divisin r League in the Prvince e.g. WP Super A League Engagement Sequence: Cruch Tuch Set (actively engage and interlck with ppsitin, ball in and cntest begins)

When the situatin ccurs during an internatinal r Super Rugby level match, the IRB Laws at the time supersede the Suth African Law mdificatins.
