8 From usaarchery.com 18 June 2009 USA Archery Hires Diane Watson as JOAD Coordinator Diane Watson, USAA JOAD Coordinator COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - USA Archery welcomes Diane Watson as the new USAA JOAD Coordinator. Watson has 25 years of archery knowledge in both recurve and compound disciplines. She came up through the JOAD program, ultimately achieving her Olympian status, and founded the Tampa Bay Hot Shots JOAD club in Tampa, Florida. She is also the current coach of the Sunshine State Archers JOAD Club in Tampa. For the past five years, Watson has worked for Precision Shooting Equipment, Inc. (PSE) in the marketing department. An accomplished archer, Watson is a member of the 2009 World Championship Team representing the USA in Korea this September, and recently was a member of the Gold Medal winning women's compound team at the World Cup event in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. "Diane brings with her the perfect blend of general archery knowledge, JOAD experience and relationships from within the industry to push the JOAD program to the next level," says USA Archery CEO Denise Parker. "She has the understanding of where JOAD is deficient and where there is incredible opportunity. I am certain she will help us capitalize on a very good opportunity to grow the program." Watson will undertake some very important program development work. Introductory programs such as the Olympic Archery in the Schools, After School Archery Program, National Archery in the Schools Program, 4H, Scouts and a variety of other programs has resulted in literally thousands of youth and their families seeking a home to further develop their newly found archery skills. With Watson's help, USAA will meet the challenge of developing more full time archery clubs to serve the archery community at large. "I am so excited about this new role," says Watson. "What an incredible opportunity to give back to a program that has provided so much to so many individuals. I look forward to the challenge of providing support to help start and run JOAD clubs."

Myers, Florida SCHEDULE 8:30 a.m. 9 a.m. Check-in 9 a.m. Competition begins QUALIFYING RULES OPEN no qualification is necessary ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1. Archery entry fee is $30 per participant and includes a State Championships t-shirt. T-shirts will be distributed on-site at designated competition check-in time. A short survey will be required to be completed at check-in. This survey can be found online at and can be completed in advance and brought to check-in. 2. All entries must be received by November 16, 2009 or register online by November 20, 2009 at Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Event Director. Athletes registering after November 20, 2009 are not guaranteed a t-shirt. 3. Entry forms, waiver of liability and entry fee should be made payable to the Florida Sports Charitable Foundation (FSCF). Save a stamp and beat the deadline! Register online at 4. Archers must provide their own bows and target arrows. FORMAT 1. The 900 American round will be used for all competition arrows will be shot as follows: 30 arrows from 60 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows), 30 arrows from 50 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows), 30 arrows from 40 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows). 3. Ends will be shot in 1 set of 6 arrows with five minutes allowed for each end to be shot. Three or four archers will be grouped per target shooting in two lines (A & B). Archers will rotate with their target mates after each end (A-B, B-A, etc). 4. Fourth place ribbons will be awarded in addition to Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. SPORT RULES All archery events will be conducted in accordance with NAA (National Archery Association), NFAA (National Field Archery Association) and FAA (Florida Archery Association) rules, except as modified. PASSING ON Claire Devlin Bulman Died: Friday, August 21, 2009 Deceased wife of Ubbo Bulman of The Villages Archery Club Paul Davison, passed away September 16 th, 2009 due to a long battle with cancer. Paul has served as a State Director, Councilman, Parliamentarian, Photographer and Article writer for Archery magazine. He would have been 77 years old in October. Ronald W. Thompson (age 69) has lost his long battle with failing health. Ron's physically disabling condition forced him to stop his attempt to develop his skill as an Olympic Recurve shooter. Ron served a period as Secretary of Ridge Archers in Lakeland. Ron last shot at the 2005 Sunshine State Games. He was Olympic Recurve FAA Champion at the 2004 Indoor and Target, and at the 2005 NAA Indoor and NFAA Indoor. He received Champion awards in Traditional skill at the 2002 NAA Indoor and the 2002 Southeast Sectional Field. 22

29 FLORIDA ARCHERS STANDINGS IN NATIONAL GAMES NFAA NATIONAL FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP Mechanicsberg PA July Absolutely beautiful ranges 5 28 target field ranges like a golf course through the woods. 140 targets in all and those who shot five days shot all 140 mowed grass lanes wide enough for all four to shoot at one time. The host club is a sportsman s club and there was food every day, a large practice range, plenty of parking and of course good fellowship. Over 500 competitors. The venue was beautiful and 200 archers ranging in age from 50 to 91 competed shooting two 900 Rounds over two days.
