1 2012 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS ONGOING First Sunday BANDSTAND IN THE PARK Each Month except Waialua Bandstand Super Bowl Sunday Waialua Bandstand owned and operated by the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Parks and Recreation. Bring a picnic supper or pupus and enjoy the entertainment. Located near the historic Waialua Sugar Mill. Starts at 4 pm and lasts 1 to 1 1/2 hours. The event is free. The event features live entertainment with featured artists, pupu s, and sidewalk sales. The event seeks to inspire young women to lead healthy lifestyles and aspire for excellence in sports. Three-day event includes body boarding, short boarding, standup surfing and long boarding. Holding period begins March 28. Information: BIKEFACTORY NORTH SHORE TRIATHLON Mokuleia Beach Park 400 meter swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run. 5 June June 23 ANNUAL HANAPA A BIG GAME FISHING TOURNAMENT Sets out from Haleiwa Harbor A Captains meeting scheduled 5 p.m. June 21 at the scales located in the harbor. Start time for the tournament held in the waters off the North Shore on June 22 and 23 is 6 am with end time at 4:30 pm. A banquet is held by the scale area on June 24 with various activities throughout the day. All events are open to the public with entry by donation. Information/Updates: ANNUAL HALEIWA ARTS FESTIVAL Haleiwa Beach Park A festival of fine arts featuring local artists and works with a special North Shore flavor. Artistic styles include: music, dance, storytelling, photography, ceramics, paintings, sculptures, glass, jewelry, fabric art and more. Free admission. Tel: (808) LILIUOKALANI PROTESTANT CHURCH ANNUAL LUAU In Haleiwa on church grounds An authentic luau that is a fundraiser for the historic church which has services in Hawaiian and English. The church was founded by the Emersons, the first missionaries to the area in This is where Queen Liliuokalani went to church when staying in the country.
