We had the pleasure of attending 5 th Street Yacht Club and Harbor Lite Yacht Club Installation of Officers. It is great to reconnect with our local Clubs and a great time was had by all. We did attend our gala event, all though both of us were a bit under the weather. Unfortunately, our beautiful and highly contagious granddaughter visited us the day before. It was a very successful event and I appreciated the fantastic attendance. A big thanks to Tom Schulz for being the Master of Ceremony for the evening. Cheryl Rybka and Mary Jo Haag put the evening together and did a great job. They had help from Marc Rybka, John John Nowicki, Greg and Sherry Rehak. The K Ranch did a fantastic job with the dinner. Not to mention, the Larry Lind Band was great entertainment. I want to thank 2017 s Officers and Board Members for their assistance and guidance. The next time you see them please thank them for their continued dedication to our fine Club. Josh and his better half Lisa are relatively new to the Club, however, have made a huge impact through the work put in to the Club and their comradery with our Members. In case you haven t heard Pier Bidding is coming up soon, Saturday March 4 th starting at 12:00pm sharp. We are very fortunate to have a great group of New Members looking for permanent slips. It should be an interesting year, not to mention a great deal of fun. If you have any questions on how this works get a hold of Fleet Captain Bryan Gahan and he can walk you through the process. Lunch will be available. Believe it or not, we are getting close to a new Boating Season. As always there will be a great deal of work to get done. Watch your s for opportunities to assist around the grounds and harbor. 4 Fishing News! 2016 in review, We had a great season last year as documented by the Leader Board Trophy which is now complete and on display on the north wall of the bar. Several personal bests are now recorded for all to see. In August, last year we had the Powder Puff Tournament which we had not only great weather and lots of Participation, but we raised $575 for the American Breast Cancer Foundation. Special thanks to Tom Hoffa and Patty Williams for their work in making that a success for the past several years! In 2017 we will be starting another exciting fishing season. In March after pier bidding we have an organizational meeting where all fishermen and fisherwomen will meet to plan the events. Think about how we can make this season better or what we could do to encourage more participation. It is very important that you participate in pier bidding if you do not have a permanent pier.

8 South Milwaukee Yacht Club 101 Marshall Avenue South Milwaukee, WI Time-to-Spare Spuds 12 Servings Ingredients: 6 large potatoes, baked 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese 1 green onion, chopped 1/4 cup milk 2 Tablespoon butter, melted 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 1 teaspoon salt, optional Additional melted butter Directions Cut hot potatoes in half lengthwise; carefully scoop out pulp, leaving a thin shell. In a bowl, mash pulp until smooth. Beat in sour cream, cheese, onion, milk, butter, parsley and salt if desired. Fill shells; brush with butter. Cover and refrigerate. Wrap shells individually in plastic wrap; place in freezer containers. Freeze. To serve, thaw and place in an ungreased shallow baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 400 for minutes or until golden and heated through. Potatoes may be frozen for up to 3 months. Notes: These may be baked before freezing. Make ahead: Having these in the freezer, allows you to take out the number of potatoes you need and take on boat for an excellent side dish. Potatoes may also be reheated in the microwave once thawed.
