She was just one of three Sooners to total over 50 total blocks - joining McLaurin and senior outside hitter Morgan Reynolds. Sooners Finish Fourth... OU finished fourth in the Big 12 behind Texas (23-3., 15-0), Iowa State (18-7, 11-3) and Kansas (23-6, 11-4). Another 20 Win Season... Oklahoma recorded its 16th 20-win season in 2012, and fifth under the helm of Santiago Restrepo (2006, 2007, 2010, 2011). His 22 wins in 2012 mark the second time in Oklahoma history and first time in 27 years that the volleyball team has secured 20-plus wins in three consecutive seasons, following long-time Sooner coach Miles Pabst who accomplished the feat between , with records of 25-12, and 27-13, respectively. The third honor came after she notched the eighth 40-plus assist performance of her career last Wednesday night in Oklahoma s 3-1 victory over Texas Tech with 42 digs. She fell just one dig shy of a double-double performance against the Red Raiders, with nine on the night. The young setter also added two service aces and five kills off of nine swings with just one error to hit.444 in OU s victory. Doyle Snaps Service Ace Record - TWICE... In OU s three-set upset over No. 11 Kansas State, freshman setter Julia Doyle snapped a four-year individual match record when she totaled five service aces. The first Sooner to post four aces in a three-set match was Caitlin Higgins vs. Nebraska on Oct. 25, Earlier in the season, Doyle matched the previous three-set record with four service aces against North Dakota State on September 1, At that moment, it had been nearly three years since another Sooner had accomplished the feat as Suzy Boulavsky recorded four service aces in three sets against Kansas (11/7/09). Reception % Aces/Set Rec. Errors/Set DEFENSE Digs Digs/Set BLOCKING Block Solo Block Assists Total Blocks Blocks/Set Season Sweeps... Oklahoma notched its first season sweep of its 2012 campaign after it defeated Texas Tech in three on Oct. 31, and its second imediately after when it topped WVU in three on Nov. 3. It followed with its third straight victory and third series sweep with a 3-1 win over Baylor on Nov. 7. In the final week of regular season action, OU secured the season sweep over TCU with a 3-1 win, and upset No. 25 Kansas State to secure its fourth and final series sweep of the 2012 season. McLaurin Finishes Season in Style... Junior Middle Blocker finished the 2012 regular season in style when she was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 26. The announcement marked the sixth weekly accolade of McLaurin s career in the Crimson and Cream, and first for the Midwest City, Okla., native this season. It also marked the first Big 12 offensive honor of her career for the Sooners - with the selection, she has now been recognized in each of the Big 12 s weekly accolades (3-time Rookie of the Week and 2-time Defensive Player of the Week). McLaurin was selected Offensive Player of the Week after she totaled double-digit kills in each of Oklahoma s wins last week over TCU and No. 25 Kansas State, hit over.400 in each match and additionally led the Sooners in blocks both times with eight against the Horned Frogs (1 BS-7 BA) and six (1 BS-5 BA) against the Wildcats.. Rookie of the Week: Third Times a Charm... Freshman setter Julia Doyle was named the Big 12 Rookie in back-to-back weeks, announced the conference on both Monday, Oct. 8 and 15, respectively, then again on Nov. 12. Most recently against No. 21 Kansas, Doyle matched another service ace record when she totaled four in a five-set loss to the Jayhawks. She became the first OU player in over two years, and third in program history to accomplish the feat. Brianne Barker was the last Sooner to ink four aces in a five-set match on Sept. 4, 2010 against Houston, while Chrissy Disarro was the first, at Baylor on Sept. 24, Key to Success... The Sooners have maintained a steady blocking game in each of their matches this year, claiming 16 of their 21 wins when they lead or tie their opponents in blocks. On the year, OU has set three new team match records in block assists. In a three-set sweep versus No. 11 Kansas State, the team totaled 22 block assists; in four sets the Sooners totaled 30 to overcome No. 19 Kentucky, and in a five-set victory over Tulsa the team posted 41 block assists to completely rewrite the Oklahoma record books just five weeks into the 2012 season. Dunn Deal... Sophomore outside hitter Tara Dunn became just the third Sooner in program history to total four service aces in a four-set match when she accomplished the feat in OU s win over WVU on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at McCasland Field House. It was a career-high performance, and the first time a Sooner had recorded four service aces in four sets since Caitlin Higgins did so against Missouri State on Aug. 8, The first OU player to accomplish the feat was Chrissy Disarro on Sept. 13, 2008 against TCU. McLaurin Maintains Streak... Junior middle blocker Sallie
