COUGS WAVE PINK FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS The Official Pink Uniform Jerseys worn by the WSU players for the Oct. 19 Cougs Wave Pink match can be purchased online...bidding ends Oct. 31, 2012 at Noon...minimum bid per jersey is $30 with all proceeds, after the cost of the uniform, to be donated to the Breast Cancer Support Group of the Palouse, known as the Bosom Buddies...bidders choose the uniform jersey number desired and contact the Cougar Volleyball office at (509) or katie.hinrichs@wsu.edu to make the bid...instructions are on the Volleyball page at wsucougars.com, click on BID PINK rotating box. COUGAR COACHING STAFF Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny (22-32 at WSU, 2nd year; in career, 6th year)...during her first season Greeny s team doubled the total number of wins from the previous season, including four more wins in the elite Pac- 12 Conference action...meagan Ganzer became the first Cougar to be named to All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region teams since 2002, and All-American, the fourth in WSU history and the first since assistant coaches Pat Stangle (former head coach at Wyoming, former asst. coach at Washington) and Burdette Greeny (former asst. coach at LCSC)...Katie Hinrichs, coordinator of operations (former player at LCSC)...volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt was the first WSU player to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. COUGAR VOLLEYBALL ON TELEVISION The Pac-12 Conference launched the Pac-12 Networks Aug. 15, friends, family and avid volleyball fans around the country will be treated to a 12 broadcasts of WSU volleyball matches during the 2012 season on the Pac-12 Networks...five home matches and seven Cougar volleyball road contests will be televised. We are thrilled with the amount of television coverage we will have with the new Pac-12 Network this year, WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said. It is sensational to see the Pac-12 make such a strong commitment to televise the sport of volleyball. This is a great schedule and we are excited to play 12 matches on TV this fall. LAST WEEK WSU was swept by California 25-21, 25-21, Oct Cougars leaders vs. Cal: Jaicee Harris (16 kills, 12 digs, 2 blocks), Kate Sommer (14 digs)... Oct. 21 in a morning match against No. 2 Stanford televised by the Pac-12 Networks, WSU forced the Cardinal to five sets before falling to the confence leaders 25-14, 25-17, 21-25, 21-25, WSU had four players in double digit kills: Rachel Todorovich (18 kills, 3 blocks), Harris (14 kills, 14 digs), Ver Leea Hardaway (career-high 13 kills, hit.476), Marcelina Glab (11 kills, 4 blocks), Sommer (match-high 19 digs), Camryn Irwin (50 assists, 14 digs).

In March 2011, Jen Stinson Greeny became the 12th coach in the history of the Cougars volleyball program where she previously played and was an assistant coach during the program s most successful years on the Palouse. In her first season as the head coach at WSU, Greeny s team doubled the total number of wins from the previous season, including four more wins in the elite Pac-12 Conference action, and extended her five-year coaching tally to (.738). The Cougar team also won 23 of 25 sets in the spring of Senior Meagan Ganzer became the first Cougar to be named to All-Pac-12 and All-Pacific Region teams since 2002 when Greeny was as assistant coach. Under Greeny s mentoring Ganzer also achieved All-America honors becoming the fourth player in WSU history to do so and the first selected since Greeny s playing days in Greeny and her assistant coach Burdette Greeny have coached eight All-Americans and two players who have had successful professional careers: Ganzer playing in Puerto Rico and Germany, and Anile Clemente, a three-time All-American at Lewis-Clark State, playing in Denmark. Greeny has also changed the academic culture of the program with back-toback semesters of a team grade point average of 3.0 or better and being awarded the Seehafer Academic Award for the 2011 fall semester. The Seehafer Academic Award is given twice a year for demonstrating the most improved academic performance or the greatest strides toward achieving its team academic goal. As the head volleyball coach at Lewis-Clark State College (Lewiston, Idaho) from , Greeny accumulating an impressive record and.824 winning percentage while turning the Warriors program into one of the premier NAIA teams nationally. She took the reins of a struggling program proceeded to win four consecutive Frontier Conference regular season titles, conference tournament championships, as well as earned four consecutive berths to the NAIA National Tournament and finished in the top 13 in the nation each year. Greeny was named the Frontier Conference Coach of the Year for four consecutive years, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association s 2010 Northwest Region Coach of the Year, for four straight seasons. But achieving success is not new to Greeny. Jennifer Stinson graduated from Davenport High in Eastern Washington in 1995, where she was a stellar multi-sport athlete. Greeny was named one of Volleyball Magazine s Fab Fifty Freshman recruits. Her prep accomplishments earned her numerous local and regional honors. At WSU she became the seventh player in school history with 1,000 career kills. A three-time All-Pacific-10 Conference selection, Greeny s statistics are prominent in WSU s all-time career lists ranking third in block assists (360), fourth in total blocks (419), seventh in solo blocks (59), and 10th in kills (1,006). She trained with the U.S. National volleyball team during the summer of 1997, and played one season on the Cougar women s basketball team. Greeny also excelled in the classroom where she was WSU s Athlete of the Year in She was a CoSIDA District VIII Academic All-America first-team and secondteam selection her final two years and was a Pac-10 Volleyball All-Academic selection three times. She received her bachelor s degree in education in December After her 4 1/2 years as an assistant coach at WSU, Greeny had been involved in six of the 10 seasons Cougar volleyball qualified for the postseason, three as a player and three as an assistant coach. During her playing career, WSU was ranked as high as fifth in the country and made the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship Tournament. Greeny was instrumental in WSU s second and only other appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, in 2002, this time as an assistant coach. as tabbed the Great Northern League Coach of the Year three times. Her commitment to volunteer work in the community has been a hallmark of Greeny s teams including Habitat for Humanity, raising money for the local breast cancer support group, and working at local elementary schools. Greeny and her husband, Burdette Greeny, a former standout pitcher at WSU and an assistant volleyball coach at WSU, have two young daughters Lauren and Leah.
