30 November 2017 Kingsley s Coming Home The Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Kingsley Hunter as coach for the 2018 season. Kingsley's association at Delawney Street began as a 10-year old, playing junior football for the former Osborne Park Junior Football Club. After finishing his juniors, Kingsley was signed by Claremont Football Club, where he played 49 games and 114 goals for the Tigers. In 1995, he was drafted by the Fremantle Dockers, where he played 41 games and kicked 86 goals over the next four years, including an AFL Rising Star nomination in He moved to the Western Bulldogs in 1999, adding another 57 games and 28 goals, and finally finishing his AFL career at Hawthorn in 2003, where he reached the 100-game mark. Kingsley returned to WA in 2004 and played a further two seasons in the WAFL for East Fremantle, notching up 33 games and 49 goals for the Sharks. Following retirement from professional football, Kingsley was enticed back to where it all began, to finish his playing career at the Stirling Football Club. Kingsley played 82 games and kicked 77 goals for the Saints between 2006 and Kingsley also coached the Saints for 95 games between 2008 and 2012, including a peak fourth position finish in A-Grade in Looking for a new challenge, Kingsley joined arch-rivals Kingsway Roos as their coach in Over the next five years, he guided the Roos from C1-Grade to B-Grade and now A-Grade, with a premiership, two grand final appearances and a 69% success rate over 105 games. The Club is very pleased to welcome Kingsley back to the Saints, and hopes that he can replicate the success of previous years in the 2018 season. 12 December 2017 Pre-Season Training The Saints new coach, Kingsley Hunter, has advised the 2018 pre-season training program will commence on Tuesday 16 January Sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday each week leading up to the start of the season, with each session starting at 6:00pm. The first session will be held at the Club's homeground at Richard Guelfi Reserve, and players should bring along their runners, boots and a water bottle to each session. The 2018 season is poised to be a big one for the Saints, with a renewed enthusiasm and desire to play finals football. While there is no mistake that there is a lot of hard work ahead of us, players should be ready to commit themselves early and set ourselves up for a big year. All players are encouraged to bring along their mates and improve the depth of the club - the more players, the better.

7 April 2018 Round 1 Review The Saints have kicked off the new season with a convincing 61- point victory over Kenwick Royals at Richard Guelfi Reserve. The win was set up by a dominant first half in which the Saints kept Kenwick goalless. The Royals were more competitive in the second half, but the Saints still managed to extend their lead at each break to start the season on a high note. Damien Lloyd kicked four goals to become the first player to reach the 250-goal milestone. Stirling (102) Kenwick (41) Goals: Damien Lloyd 4, Chris Dishot 3, Tony Mirabella 2, Tim Pendal 2, Reece Phoenix 2, Marlon Johns 1, Marcus Lazic 1, Ben Mollett 1 Debut: Aidan Omodei, Garry Moss Milestones: Damien Lloyd (250th Goal) Stirling (55) Kenwick (73) Goals: Scott Anderson 2, Nicholas Leopardi 2, Sam Day 1, Chris Leopardi 1, Troy Mellidis 1, Ben Mollett 1

14 April 2018 Round 2 Review The Saints have continued their good start to the season with a spirited 17-point victory over Bullcreek Leeming Bombers at Beasley Park. Kicking with the assistance of a breeze, the Saints got the jump on the Bombers in the first term, but Bullcreek managed to reduce the margin back to just seven points at the half time break. The Saints booted five goals in the third term to set up a healthy 24-point at three quarter time, and then kicked the first of the last term to put the result beyond doubt. The Bombers mounted a mini-comeback late in the term and reduced the margin back to just two goals, but the Saints steadied again to run out winners. The win puts the Saints at the top of the ladder after two rounds. Stirling (81) Bullcreek Leeming (64) Goals: Adam Edwards 2, Kingsley Hunter 2, Marlon Johns 2, Garry Moss 2, Chris Dishot 1, Marcus Lazic 1, Mark Kelly 1, Aidan Omodei 1 Debut: Bronson Gledhill Stirling (7) Bullcreek-Leeming (142) Goals: Ben Mollett 1 Milestones: Joshua Carlyon (50th game)

21 April 2018 Round 3 Review The Saints have maintained their perfect record against Melville Rams with a thrilling 2-point win in the Round 3 clash at Richard Guelfi Reserve. The Saints have not been beaten in four previous games against the Rams, and after scoring the first three goals of the game, that record didn t look in any danger. However, Melville kicked a few of their own to cut the margin back to just 2 goals at quarter time. Kicking with the aid of the breeze, the Rams outscored the Saints in the second term, and then reduced the margin to just 2 points at three quarter time to set up an exciting final term. The Saints kicked the first goal, but Melville kicked another two to put them ahead for the first time at the 10-minute mark. The Saints responded with another goal at the 15-minute mark to retain the lead. There were a few tense moments in the dying minutes, but the Saints held on to record their third consecutive win of the year. Stirling (68) Melville (66) Goals: Chris Dishot 2, Adam Edwards 2, Damien Lloyd 2, Garry Moss 2, Marlon Johns 1, Mark Kelly 1 Stirling (31) Melville (57) Goals: Sam Day 2, Billy Camplin 1, Stewart Horton 1

28 April 2018 Round 4 Review The Saints have dropped their first game of the season, going down to the Carlisle Cougars by 53 points at Carlisle Reserve. The two sides went goal for goal in the opening term, with each kicking three majors. The Cougars started to pull away in the second term, and extended their lead to 23 points at the major break. Led by former West Coast Eagle premiership player, Adam Hunter, the Cougars dominated the second half, kicking six goals in both of the last two quarters. The Saints were significantly hampered by injuries, and finished the game without any fit players on the bench, but still managed to add valuable goals on the scoreboard. The silver lining was the 5-goal haul from Damien Lloyd, which sets a new Club record for goals scored against Carlisle. Stirling (76) Carlisle (129) Goals: Damien Lloyd 5, Adam Edwards 2, Ben Mollett 2, Joel Julian 1, Mark Kelly 1, Gerrad Prockter 1 Stirling (8) Carlisle (123) Goals: Lewis Johns 1

5 May 2018 Round 5 Review The Saints have lost to Willetton in the Round 5 clash at Richard Guelfi Reserve, doing down to the Blues by 50 points. The Blues led from start to finish, and while the Saints were still within reach at half time, a four goal third quarter put the result beyond doubt. Despite the disappointing result, the day will be best remembered for a number of significant milestones. Ben Mollett played in his 200 th game for the Club, while Gerrad Prockter notched up his 100 th game in Saints colours. Off the field, Kingsley Hunter became the first person in almost 100 years of club history to coach 100 games. Stirling (54) Willetton (104) Goals: Damien Lloyd 3, Ben Mollett 3, Dennis Bettles 1, Joshua Houlden 1 Stirling (13) Willetton (98) Goals: Sam Day 2

12 May 2018 Round 6 Review The Saints have been beaten in the Round 6 clash versus Quinns Districts at Ridgewood Park, with the Bulls running out victors by 72 points. The first quarter was an even battle, with both teams kicking two goals each. Some inaccurate kicking by the Bulls allowed the Saints to trail by just six points at the first break. The Saints stepped up a gear in the second term. Playing in his first game for the Saints since 2008, key forward Simon Mieschbuehler kicked two of his four goals in the term, and the Saints cut the deficit back to just two points at half time. This was unfortunately as close as the Saints got, as the Bulls kicked fourteen goals to three to dominate the second half. The Saints fielded a very different side to last week, with a massive eight changes required due to injury and other commitments. This did, however, provide the opportunity for three more players to make their debuts for the Saints, including Jacob Impiombato, Trent Sanders and Chris Leopardi. The Saints also celebrated two major milestones on the day, including Mark Baker s 150 th game and Alex Kostadinoski s 100 th game. Stirling (60) Quinns Districts (132) Goals: Simon Mieschbuehler 4, John Corfias 2, Ben Mollett 2, Matt Cocker 1 Stirling (6) Quinns Districts (156) Goals: Lewis Johns 1

19 May 2018 Round 7 Review The Saints were beaten in their Round 7 clash against Bassendean at Richard Guelfi Reserve, with the Swans winning by 84 points. The silver lining was the form of Joel Julian, who scored a career-high 3 goals as a leading forward. Stirling (46) Bassendean (130) Goals: Joel Julian 3, John Corfias 1, Adam Edwards 1, Ben Mollett 1 Stirling (19) Bassendean (181) Goals: Myles Finnegan 1, Nicholas Leopardi 1, Sam Wasley 1 26 May 2018 Round 8 Review The Saints had a change of form in their Round 8 clash versus Gosnells Hawks, but still couldn't manage to prevent another disappointing defeat. The Saints got the jump on their higher ranked opponents, with Simon Mieschbuehler kicking three first quarter goals to give them an 11-point lead at quarter time. The second quarter was more even, but the Saints still maintained a 10-point lead at the main break. However, the Hawks seized control of the game, with a threegoal-to-none third quarter. The rain slowed the game down in the last term, and the Hawks held on to win by 19 points. Stirling (46) Gosnells (65) Goals: Simon Mieschbuehler 5, Mark Kelly 1, Ben Mollett 1 Stirling (12) Gosnells (153) Goals: Beau Parry 1

9 June 2018 Round 9 Review The Saints were outclassed by ladder leaders Ballajura, with the Royals winning by 98 points at Richard Guelfi Reserve. The injury curse continues to plague the Saints season, with an average of five changes per week to the side, and eight of the Round 1 side being unavailable for selection. The Saints will now re-group before facing Kenwick Royals next week at Mills Park. Stirling (35) Ballajura (133) Goals: Damien Lloyd 2, Simon Mieschbuehler 2, Kieran Guy 1 Stirling (30) Ballajura (142) Goals: Hamish Atkinson 1, Sam Day 1, Tristan Lakay 1, Ben Mollett 1 16 June 2018 Round 10 Review The Round 10 clash versus Kenwick Royals at Mills Park will unfortunately go down as one of the darkest days in the Club s history. The day started with the being forced to forfeit their game due to a lack of players. Hopes were high for the game, but after four players were forced from the ground in the opening 15 minutes, the Saints were on the back foot for the rest of the game. The Royals dominated the game across all four quarters, and finished in front by a margin of 107 points. The Saints now face bottom placed Bullcreek-Leeming, in what looms as a must win for the Club. Stirling (37) Kenwick (144) Goals: Joel Julian 2, Damien Lloyd 2, Mark Kelly 1 Stirling (1) Kenwick (90) Note: Lost by Forfeit

22 June 2018 Milestone 100 Games Sam Wasley - Played junior football for Warwick Greenwood JFC and Melville JFC - Joined the Club in First games was in Round 1, 2011 versus Kinglsey at Kingsley Reserve - Has played 28 Colts, 68 and 3 Thirds games - Positioned primarily across the back line, but has also kicked 4 goals 23 June 2018 Round 11 Review The Saints disappointing season continued in their Round 11 clash versus Bullcreek Leeming, going down to the Bombers by 59 points at Richard Guelfi Reserve. After watching the Bombers skip out to a 25-point lead at quarter time, the Saints scrapped and clawed to within 15 points at the half time break. Some inaccurate kicking in front of goal by the Bombers allowed the Saints to hold a faint hope at three quarter time. However, a dominant last quarter gave the Bombers their second victory of the season, and placed the Saints perilously close to the relegation zone. The Saints now have a must-win clash versus Melville Rams in Round 13. The Saints' record against Melville is good, but they will need to lift to ensure they put some space between themselves and the bottom two. Stirling (41) Bullcreek-Leeming (100) Goals: Adam Edwards 2, Kieran Guy 2, Chris Dishot 1, Marlon Johns 1 Stirling (29) Bullcreek-Leeming (118) Goals: Jacob Crupi 1, Beau Parry 1, Dean Turner 1, Nathan Wear 1 Milestones: Sam Wasley (100 th game)

30 June 2018 Round 12 Review The Saints have dropped to ninth position on the ladder after losing the Round 12 clash against Melville Rams at Melville Reserve. The Rams led by 21 points at quarter time and 38 points by half time before a blistering eight-goal third term set up the win. It was the first time that the Saints have lost to the Rams, having been victorious in all five previous encounters. The Saints must win two or more games out of the last six rounds to ensure they are not relegated to C2 Grade next season. Stirling (45) Melville (127) Goals: Chris Dishot 2, Joel Julian 1, Mark Kelly 1, Damien Lloyd 1, Trent Sanders 1 Debut: Jacob Crupi Stirling (48) Melville (92) Goals: John Corfias 2, Sam Day 2, Jacob Crupi 1, Dean Turner 1

7 July 2018 Round 13 Review The Saints have suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Carlisle, going down by 115 points in the Round 13 clash at Richard Guelfi Reserve. The Cougars win was set up by a dominant seven-goal first quarter. The loss means the Saints are now a game and percentage from eighth place, and need to win two games to avoid relegation. The injury toll continues to rise for the Saints, with only eleven players from the Round 1 side playing against Carlisle over the weekend. While these changes have tested the depth of the Club, the silver lining is the opportunity provided for young players to make their debut. Hamish Atkinson and Tristan Lakay became the 12 th and 13 th players 2018 to make their Debut for the Saints in The Saints have also been buoyed by the recent improved form of the side, who were competitive again over the weekend despite starting the game with just 17 players. Stirling (41) Carlisle (156) Goals: Adam Edwards 2, Simon Mieschbuehler 2, Malcolm Hipwell 1, Tim Pendal 1 Debut: Hamish Atkinson, Tristan Lakay Stirling (48) Carlisle (90) Goals: Beau Parry 2, Stephen Conte 1, John Corfias 1, Sam Day 1, Nick Leopardi 1, Sam Wasley 1 12 July 2018 Milestone 200 Games Mark Kelly The Saints will celebrate a significant milestone in this week's clash versus Willetton, with one of its favourite sons, Mark Kelly, notching up his 200 th game for the Club. - Joined the Club in 2005, playing in the Colts under John Batten - Appointed Captain of Colts side in 2005 and Finished 3 rd in the Club s Jack Freind (F&B) Medal for Colts in Finished Runner Up in the WAAFL B-Colts Fairest & Best Medal in Played 104 consecutive games from 2005 Round 1 to 2010 Round 7 - Debut in 2006 Round 9 vs Fremantle CBC (45-point win), aged 18 years 349 days - Finished Runner Up in the Club s Fairest & Best Trophy for in 2008 and Has played most of his football on the Wing, wearing his trademark number 11 guernsey - Current games tally includes 150 games, 12 games and 37 Colts games.

14 July 2018 Round 14 Review The Saints horror season continued after going down to Willetton Blues by 124 points in the Round 14 clash at Burrendah Reserve. The Saints were kept goalless for the first half and were not able to register a major until midway through the third term. The Saints were much more competitive in the final term, but the result was well beyond doubt at that stage. The heavy loss could have been much worse had it not been for the outstanding form of Garry Moss, who was rock solid in defence while also sneaking forward to kick two goals. The loss was a disappointing result for Mark Kelly, who was celebrating his 200th game in Stirling Saints colours. Mark joined the Club in 2005 and has been a loyal servant and fierce competitor over many years. The Saints were also able to introduce their 14th and 15th debutantes for the season in Brendan Carr and Stephen Conte. The Saints will now face bottom-placed Quinns Districts Bulls in Round 15, in what shapes as being the best opportunity to break the run of losses. Stirling (21) Willetton (145) Goals: Adam Edwards 2, Simon Mieschbuehler 2, Malcolm Hipwell 1, Tim Pendal 1 Debut: Brendan Carr, Stephen Conte Stirling lost by Forfeit to Willetton

21 July 2018 Round 15 Review The Saints have dropped to the bottom of the C2 Ladder with a 102-point loss to Quinns District Bulls at Richard Guelfi Reserve. The loss created a piece of unwanted club history as it is the first time the losing margin has been more than 100 points for three consecutive games. Another record was created by the lack of player numbers, which required 9 players to play in both the and games. Dion Mellidis and Dean Turner were amongst those nine players, and they became the 14 th and 15 th players to make their Debut for the Saints in Stirling (44) Quinns Districts (146) Goals: Chris Dishot 1, Kieran Guy 1, Tristan Lakay 1, Gerrad Prockter 1, Trent Sanders 1, Dean Turner 1 Debut: Dion Mellidis, Dean Turner Stirling (10) Quinns Districts (85) Goals: Dean Turner 1

28 July 2018 Round 16 Review The Saints have suffered their biggest loss for the season and the worst loss in the Club s 21-year history going down to Bassendean Swans by 153 points at Jubilee Reserve. The Saints put up a good effort in the first term, but were kept goalless for the next two quarters while the Swans kicked 17 unanswered goals. The loss means that relegation to C2 Grade is now a formality. Nicholas Leopardi became the 18 th player to make his Debut for the Saints in The Saints now face Gosnells in the last home game for the season before ending the season with an away game against Ballajura. Stirling (21) Bassendean (174) Goals: Simon Mieschbuehler 2, Mark Kelly 1 Debut: Nicholas Leopardi Stirling (13) Bassendean (149) Goals: Nicholas Leopardi 1,... 1

4 August 2018 Round 17 Review The Saints have lost the Round 17 clash against Gosnells at Richard Guelfi Reserve, with the Hawks running out winners by 96 points. Despite a disappointing first three quarters, which yielded just one major, the Saints played significantly better in the last quarter. The Saints won the last quarter by 2 points, which is a feat not achieved since the second quarter of the Round 11 clash against Bullcreek Leeming. Joshua Carlyon became the 19th player to make his Debut for the Saints in The Saints now face Ballajura in the last game in what has been an extremely difficult season for the Club. Stirling (30) Gosnells (126) Goals: Damien Lloyd 2, Simon Mieschbuehler 1, Mitchell Reid 1 Stirling (7) Gosnells (163) Goals: Ben Mollett 1 11 August 2018 Players MVP Medal In his second year at the Club, Chris Dishot has joined an illustrious group of players by taking out the Players' MVP Medal for The award, which is separate from the Club's Fairest & Best award, was instituted in 2006 and involves each player casting votes at the end of each game for the best player of the round. He polled votes in seven games, including three best-on-ground performances over four weeks, to finish the count with 41 votes. Marlon Johns, who transferred to Gosnells in the latter part of the season, finished in second place on 40 votes, while last year's Jack Friend (Colts F&B) Medallist, Kieran Guy, ended the season with a late flurry of votes to finish in third on 32 votes. He becomes the first player in Stirling s short history to win the award for the fourth time, and equals the record set by Charlie Bertilone, where he won four Fairest & Best awards for Balcatta during the 1990s. Edwards set the standard early, polling votes in five of the first seven rounds of the season. Despite missing the last five games of the season, Edwards polled 71 votes to finish on top of the leader board. Finishing in a close second was versatile ruckman, Malcolm Hipwell on 65 votes, while veteran Michael Franceschini polled 60 votes to finish in third position for the second consecutive year. Former AFL star, Garry Moss, polled 59 votes (from just 8 games) to finish in fourth position, while Chris Dishot and Kieran Guy tied for fifth position on 56 votes each. Kieran Guy was awarded the Coach's Trophy for his consistent efforts throughout the season. Earlier in the night, Sam Day polled 70 votes to win the De Cinque Trophy for the Fairest & Best. Sam was well supported throughout the season by John Corfias (59 votes) and Dean Turner (39 votes). Chris Leopardi was rewarded for his efforts by being awarded the Coach's Trophy.
