1 I must start with an apology, for the next two group meetings on Tuesdays, I will be handing over the reins to Mark, as I will not be able to attend. Mark will fill you in with the thrilling news from the TR Birmingham world and has been briefed with plenty of info for you. The Concours. We have received many s, Text messages and a couple of phone calls, regard the choice made on the morning of the Concours. I attended the site very early on the morning and walked the field. It just would not have been fair to hold the event as we would have been towing cars off and churning the grass up. Lets face it, who would want a soggy Burger. So, we now had the task of rescheduling. After speaking to the club and arranging alternative plans. We will now be holding the event on Saturday 5 th July. Please make a note in the diary, and hopefully we should have a better day. The BBq will be still on along with a very quaffable selection of real ale, a brilliant raffle and Merv s favorite part of the day. The wooden spoon award. Page 1 of 4

2 Dates for the diary 21 st June. There is a charity day at Shelsley Walsh on Saturday 21st June in aid of St Richard's Hospice; it s a chance to take your car up Shelsley Hill climb. This doesn t come up that often (unless you're a competitor of course!) so it may interest the people who have gone up Prescott and would like to tick another hill off their list! We have been given permission to park between the Cold War Hangers and entry is free to the museum. Please be aware that if security is heightened, you may be asked to park in another location. 3 5 th July The Birmingham Group Concours De Elegance At The Somers sports and social Club. Grange Hill Halesowen. B62 0JH NEW DATE Saturday July 5th 1 P.M. Start. We should hopefully have better weather, a good BBq, Beverage's, Raffle And an afternoon enjoying this annual event Once again, we have invited our Classic car friends to join us, And the legend Merv Parke s wooden spoon award. (That s if we can prise it out of the Registers Trophy cabinet) Last years TR6 Winner Gina O Sullivan 6 th July The BMC and Leyland Show is a real car enthusiast's show, which celebrates all the fantastic marques that came from all pre-1952 BMC era. Including British Leyland, the Rover group and includes commercial and military vehicles. The show has something for everyone This year is the 50thAnniversary of the Austin Morris 1800 and they hope to have up to 35 Austin Morris 1800s on display on the day. It is also the 30th Anniversary of the Austin Montego and we are going to have the last Montego off the production line on display within the museum Page 3 of 4

4 12 Th July Drakes Broughton Village Fete. You are invited to join CVTR in this fantastic event, with plenty going on including the now famous BBQ. 12 th July Mary Stevens Summer Fete. For those who want something a little closer, I ask you to pop along and support Mary Stevens s hospice with their summer Fete. You will be joined by the West Midlands Classic car club. From 11.30am onwards 18 th July Birlingham Village Classic Car Event This is a brilliant evening event in Birlingham just outside Pershore. With plenty of classic, and vintage vehicles, Motor bike and in fact if it has wheels it s there. BBq and a beer tent. This is held on the cricket pitch and is a very popular event So I hope you are able to pop along to an event or two and event come and see us at the Somers Club. I have sent another order up for good weather on the 5 th and all of our other outings. As I will be away for a while, please feel free to contact Mark who will endeavor to answer any questions you may have.
