Auburn will be making its third straight visit to an NCAA Regional. The Tigers went 0-2 in 2004 at Stanford, then won its first-ever game in the postseason when hosting last year. Auburn defeated Florida A&M in six innings, 11-2, before bowing out to Florida State. The Tigers had opened their regional with a loss to Florida State as well. Auburn made its first-ever NCAA Regional appearance in 2002 at Tallahassee. The Tigers lost to Florida Atlantic and Florida State in two games. Against Arizona... The Tigers have faced Arizona twice in the team s 10-year history and the Wildcats have been ranked No. 1 or 2 in both games. In 2002, Auburn fell to then-no. 1 Arizona, 4-0, in Tucson. A year later, at the USF-Louisville Slugger Tournament in Tampa, No. 2 Arizona won again, 6-0. Ashley Griffin and Robin Martin are the only two Tigers who still remain with the club that faced Arizona in Griffin went 1 for 2 in a start while Martin was 0 for 1. It will be a repeat of sorts for the Tigers who will face Arizona, which is the No. 2 national seed this postseason. Against Ohio State... Auburn has faced Ohio State twice, both games coming in 2001 at the Tiger Invitational at what is now Jane B. Moore Field. The Tigers came out on top in game one, 3-2, on Feb. 10, then dropped a nine-inning affair a day later, 4-0. Current Auburn assistant Ashley Moore is the only Tiger associated with the program, aside from head coach Tina Deese, to have faced Ohio State. In 2001, as a junior, Moore was 1 for 5 with a double and two runs driven in against the Buckeyes. A First Against Marist... Auburn will be playing Marist for the first time in team history. The Red Foxes finished the 2006 season and will be the fourth-seed at the regional. This season, Auburn is 3-1 against teams it has faced for the first time. The Tigers defeated Tennessee Tech, North Carolina State and Southern Miss. and lost to Arizona State. About Deese... Auburn head coach Tina Deese is in her 10th season with the club and 18th overall. She is with Auburn and overall. In 2002, Deese was named the Co-Coach of the Year by the SEC. She has twice guided the club to better than 40 victories. Auburn has won 30 or more games in seven of its 10 seasons, including 34 victories in The Huntingdon Beach, Calif., native has now guided Auburn to three straight NCAA Regional appearances. The team has made four in five seasons. About The Tigers... Auburn is a relatively young club, buoyed by four seniors, two of whom -- Amy Shaw and Ashley Griffin -- who start on a regular basis. The team has used four freshmen regularly and a fifth in crucial pinch hitting roles. The team s juniors see most of starting time, with Sara Ghezzi in right, Kristina McCain at third and Lauren Walton in either left field or center. Holly Currie splits time as DP or pitcher. Two Program Firsts... Auburn opened the season ranked in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball (20th) and USA Today/NFCA (17th) Top 25 polls for the first time in team history. Furthering that, the team held a spot in both top 25 polls throughout the regular season for the first time in 10 seasons. Auburn has been ranked in the USA Softball Top 25 poll for 20 straight weeks (as of May 14) and in the top 25 of the NFCA poll for 23 straight. Ghezzi, McCain and Fernandez Honored By SEC... Sara Ghezzi and Kristina McCain were named to the All-SEC Second-Team and Tatiana Fernandez the SEC All-Freshman Team on May 10. Ghezzi was second on the club with a.295 batting average during conference play. The junior hit two home runs and drove in 13. She was third on the team with five doubles and 10 walks. McCain, meanwhile, led the club with a.333 batting average, 21 walks and was tied for the team lead with six doubles. She was also fourth on the team with nine RBI, all coming as she batted leaoff for the Tigers. Fernandez, lastly, led the team with four home runs and 17 RBI. The Miami native tied McCain for the team lead with six doubles. The trio of honors marked the third straight season the Tigers have had at least three players honored at the SEC postseason banquet.

5 That s A Record... Kristina McCain walked twice in the Tigers series against Ole Miss, giving her 92 for her career, which is now the Auburn standard. McCain had been tied with Mary Petrie, who racked up 90 walks from McCain, a Pisgah, Ala., native, has 35 walks this season, a career-high. She is four behind Ashley Moore, who walked 39 times in 2001, for the most in an Auburn single-season. That s A Streak... Ashley Griffin surpassed Sara Dean for the most consecutive starts in an Auburn uniform Thursday and has seen her name on the lineup card in 217 straight games. Griffin has not missed an Auburn game since Feb. 23, 2003 when the Tigers defeated Alabama A&M, 12-1, at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Macon, Ga. She started the final 35 games of the 2003 season. That starts streak is the longest active streak in the SEC. Griffin has started 236 games for her career (out of 237 games played overall) putting her into third place in team history. Currie Says No-No Four Times... Holly Currie threw her fourth no-hitter of the season May 6 against Ole Miss, tying her with Kristen Keyes (2004) for the most in a single-season. Currie no-hit Mercer (Feb. 18), Missouri (Feb. 24) and Tennessee Tech (April 4) in addition to the Rebels, who are the first team from the Southeastern Conference Currie has achieved the feat against. The junior from Pisgah, Ala., now has five no-hitters in her career after tossing a perfect game against the College of Charleston last season. Currie and Keyes are the program s leaders with five no-hitters apiece. In The Postseason... As a team, Auburn players are batting.203 in NCAA Regional appearances entering the trip to Tucson. Holly Currie leads the team with a.454 batting average with two doubles, a home run and three runs driven in. She has also posted a 1.56 earned run average in two appearances and nine innings of work. Beth DiPietro holds Auburn s only victory in NCAA Regional play. She allowed two runs in six innings of work against Florida A&M in an 11-2 win last season. Against The Nation s No. 3 Team... Arizona is currently the nation s third-ranked club according to USA Softball. If the Tigers play Arizona at the regional, it will mark the ninth game in the Tigers history they will play the nation s No. 3 team. Each of the eight previous games have come against SEC clubs, with the last six against LSU. Most recently, in 2004, the Tigers took 1 of 2 from LSU, winning, 2-0, at the SEC Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Then A Record, Still A Record... The largest crowd to ever witness an Auburn game on the road came when 1,320 saw Auburn play Arizona on Feb. 16, 2002 at Hillenbrand Stadium. It happened the be the largest crowd to witness an Auburn game, period, until 1,371 saw the Tigers and Michigan battle on Feb. 28 of this season at Jane B. Moore Field. The Wolverines came out on top, 1-0. Still Hitting Home Runs... The 37 home runs hit by the Tigers this season are a far cry from the record-breaking 68 hit in 2005, but are far from the least in team history. The 37 round-trippers are the sixth-most by an Auburn club and the Tigers need just one to tie the 38 hit in 1999 and 2000, respectively. She s A Reachin... Auburn junior Kristina McCain has reached base in her first at bat of a game in 12 of her last 23 contests. Since she began batting leadoff for the Tigers on Feb. 24 against then-no. 24 Missouri, McCain has reached base in her first at bat of the game in an impressive 26 of 42 games. Prior to that, when McCain batted in the No. 2 slot in the order, she had reached base via a walk, hit or hit by pitch in her first at bat in three of 12 contests. Coincidentally, the team is this season when McCain bats leadoff. McCain Maintaining Consistency... Junior Kristina McCain reached base in all but four of her 60 games last season and has not let up through the first 54 games of She has at least one hit in 35 of the team s games this season and has reached base via a walk or hit by pitch in 14 others. The junior has a career-best 35 walks this season and has reached base in 49 of 54 games. Over the past two seasons, she has reached base safely in 105 of her 114 games. However, the trip marked a significant step for the Tigers as Auburn reached the SEC Tournament for the seventh straight season and eighth time in 10 seasons. LSU went on to the SEC Tournament Championship game Saturday, losing 3-0 to Tennessee. SEC Gets Six Teams Again... For the fifth straight season, the Southeastern Conference placed six clubs into the NCAA s postseason. Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Florida will each host their regional. Of the six teams to advance to a regional last season, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama made it into the super regionals. The Crimson Tide and Lady Vols advanced to the College World Series in Oklahoma City. Need Some Games... The 54 games Auburn has played thus far this season is the least number of any clubs in the Southeastern Conference and in Tiger history. South Carolina and Kentucky have both played 58 games, while the Tigers of 1998 played in 56 games. Five Tigers Honored... Nation s 20th Toughest Schedule... Auburn s schedule was rated as the 20th strongest in the nation. That mark was the sixth toughest among SEC clubs, trailing Arkansas (ninth), Alabama (10), South Carolina (15), Florida (18) and Tennessee (19). Hold A Lead... Auburn is 24-4 this season when leading after four innings and 24-3 when leading after five. When the Tigers enter the seventh with a lead, they have not lost. Auburn is 25-0 when leading after six innings this season. 6

7 Those Crazy Miscellaneous Lineup Statistics... This season, Auburn has had 10 different players bat at least once in the seventh spot of the lineup and eight in the No. 5, 6 and 9 slots. That s quite a big difference when compared to 2005, where the Tigers had just four different players in the fifth spot and five in the No. 6 spot. In 2005, the Tigers had three players start all 68 games -- Sara Ghezzi, Sara Dean and Ashley Griffin. This season, it was Griffin and Kristina McCain who started all 54 games. No Twice... Auburn head coach Tina Deese won her 600th career game March 8 against Samford, then coached in her 600th game with the Tigers on April 8 in the second game of a doubleheader against LSU in Baton Rouge. An Early All-American... Auburn senior Robin Martin was named a National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American April 3 for her dedication to AU softball. She was nominated by strength and condititioning coach Jason Loscalzo. Tatiana Takes SEC Frosh Honors... Catcher Tatiana Fernandez became Auburn s first-ever SEC Freshman of the Week on April 17 after going 4 for 10 with a home run and three RBI in the Tigers sweep of Arkansas. The Miami native is the team s first winner because the SEC instituted the award at the beginning of the season. Currie Comes Through... Holly Currie has been named both SEC Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 27) and the U.S. Sports Academy s February Alabama Athlete of the Month this season. She s only the second Tiger to throw three or more no hitters in the same season after blanking Mercer, No. 24 Missouri and Tennessee. Against Mercer, in a five-inning win, each of the 15 outs she recorded came via the strikeout. She missed the opportunity for her second perfect game in two years by walking the first batter of the game. Currie struck out 15 for the second time this year April 4 against Tennessee Tech. She has 12 double-digit strikeout performances this year in 35 appearances. About The Auburn Assistants... Auburn assistant coaches Jack Byerley and Ashley Moore are both in their second seasons with the Tigers. Both Byerley and Moore paid off in dividends for the Tigers last season as Auburn set a program-record with 50 victories and set a number of school offensive records. Byerley came to Auburn from Francis Marion University in South Carolina, where he was the team s head coach for two seasons. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at Florida for two years. Byerley s first job at the college ranks began in 1996, when he took over head coaching duties at Central Alabama Community College until Byerley led the softball program at Robertsdale (Ala.) High School from Even though she is in her second season at Auburn, Moore has a long history with the Tigers. She came to Auburn as centerfielder in She ended her career with the Tigers as the program s all-time leader in runs (171), hits (261), doubles (58) and total bases (445). After her playing career, Moore spent a season as a graduate assistant at South Carolina and two seasons with the New England RipTide of National Pro Fastpitch. Coming Next Season... Auburn head coach Tina Deese announced the signings of three future Tigers for the 2007 season. They include Garden Grove, Calif. s Krista Klein, Ramer, Ala. s Whitney Wyatt and Huntsville s Anna Thompson. They are set to join the team next season. Thompson headlines the group as she is one of the most celebrated players in Alabama history. Entering her senior season, she stood second in the state s history for most strikeouts. Her 1,618 punchouts trailed only current Tiger Holly Currie, who had 1,730 strikeouts for Pisgah High School. Thompson plays for Grissom High School and has been named The Huntsville Times All- Metro Pitcher of the Year three straight seasons.
