2 Registration Brochure PBEO JOB FAIR Agenda The 2011 PBEO Job Fair will be held in the Khmer Pavilion at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, December 4-7. Sun. Dec. 4 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Registration Counter The Job Fair is an annual feature of the Baseball Winter Meetings. This is a great opportunity to meet with representatives from professional teams, interview on-site and choose from a variety of positions. 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Business of Baseball Workshop 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Job Posting Room Open Mon. Dec. 5 Get in on the ground floor and build your future by attending baseball s most popular meeting and seminar to find YOUR job in professional baseball. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. PBEO Office, Registration Counter & Job Posting Room The Job Fair provides registrants a look at the business of professional baseball, as well as an excellent opportunity to find employment. On average, jobs are posted annually at the Job Fair. 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Interview Room, Interview Schedule Room & Workroom Tues. Dec. 6 Many of these jobs are internships and entrylevel positions. However, some positions are for those with prior baseball experience, or a related background looking for the next challenge. 3 Registration Brochure BASEBALL WINTER MEETINGS & BASEBALL TRADE SHOW The Baseball Winter Meetings is the annual convention for members of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues (Minor League Baseball), Major League Baseball and their affiliated parties. The meetings consist of seminars, league and organizational meetings, the Baseball Trade Show, special events and the PBEO Job Fair. At the Baseball Trade Show, manufacturers display the products that will fill stadium concession stands, as well as the uniforms and equipment that will be used on the field. General Information From résumé information to attire to maps, there is a wealth of Job Fair general information available on our website, Once on the site, click on the armadillo-style PBEO Job Fair logo, and then click on the General Info link. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions page on the site. If you have a question about the Job Fair, please send an to info@pbeo.com. Attire Business attire is suggested. Jacket and tie for the men and a suit/dress/pant/skirt with collared shirt for the women. Please refer to individual event tickets for any changes in attire. Baseball Winter Meetings Special Events These events are great networking opportunities! As a Job Fair registrant, you will NOT automatically be registered for the Special Events package. The Special Events package is NOT available online, only on-site at the Baseball Winter Meetings Registration counter located in the Hilton Anatole. The cost to register for these events is $150** and includes: Awards Luncheon Ticket Gala Ticket Banquet Ticket One Gift Item Weather Make sure to bring some warm clothes, as the average December temperatures are a high of 58 and a low of 37. 4 Registration Brochure Registration You may register online with a credit card by visiting or by filling out and returning the attached form along with payment by October 21, 2011 for a discounted rate. After October 21, all registrations will be taken on-site (cash or credit card only) and registration fees will increase by $50. If you are a current member your subscription must run through December 7, 2011 to register at the Current Member rate. If not, you must register as a Non-Member. On-site registration will open on Sunday, December 4 at the Job Fair registration counter located outside the Grand Ballroom of the Atrium wing in the Hilton Anatole. Registration will also be open on Monday and Tuesday, December 5 and 6, from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. at the registration counter next to the escalator leading to the Khmer Pavilion. If you register in advance, you will receive your registration package prior to the event and there will be no need for you to go to the registration counter. Your name badge must be worn at all times to gain entrance to the Job Posting Room and the Baseball Trade Show. Registration Includes PBEO Job Fair, Business of Baseball Workshop, Baseball Trade Show and a PBEO Gift Item (Gift Item will be available to the first 400 registrants.) Registration DOES NOT include Baseball Winter Meetings Special Events the Gala, Annual Banquet and others. Non-Member registration includes a one-year membership to a $50 value. Job Seeker Housing Lodging for Job Fair attendees will be provided by the Courtyard at Market Center and the Fairfield Inn & Suites at Market Center, which are adjacent to the Hilton Anatole parking lot. The new state-of-the-art lobby at Courtyard Dallas Market Center provides great flexibility and choices for their guests. This hotel, located in the heart of Market Center and only a few miles from downtown, features a new lobby with inviting, flexible spaces in which to work or relax and free Wi-Fi. The highlight of the new lobby experience is The Bistro - Eat Drink Connect which provides guests with healthy food and beverage offerings in the morning and evening dinner service with cocktails. The Dallas Market Center Courtyard is easily accessible from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport. The hotel s location to Downtown Dallas allows guests to enjoy and experience all that Dallas has to offer including dining, nightlife, and easy access to the Hilton Anatole. The Fairfield Inn & Suites at Market Center is located across the street from the Hilton Anatole in the heart of Dallas Market Center and only 2 miles from Downtown Dallas. The rate for the Courtyard at Market Center is $89 per night, and the rate for the Fairfield Inn & Suites is $69 per night. A special Job Fair Housing Reservation link will be provided to you upon completion of your Job Fair registration. Deadline for Job Fair registration is October 21, It is recommended that your arrangements include arriving on Saturday, December 3 and staying through the afternoon of Wednesday, December 7, to attend the Business of Baseball Workshop and to be available for interviews. Baseball Winter Meetings Host Hotel The Hilton Anatole will be the host hotel for the 2011 PBEO Job Fair, Baseball Winter Meetings and Baseball Trade Show. Rooms are not available at the Hilton Anatole for Job Fair attendees. If you need housing, please refer to the Job Seeker Housing information above. 4

PBEO JOB FAIR AND BASEBALL WINTER MEETINGS GENERAL ATTENDANCE POLICY The Baseball Winter Meetings are not open to the general public. In order to attend, you must be a member of The National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues Inc., d/b/a Minor League Baseball, Major League Baseball, a Baseball Trade Show Exhibitor, a PBEO Job Fair Attendee or an Approved Non- Member. Non-Member applications must be approved prior to registration and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, in Minor League Baseball s sole discretion. Any company that is in the business of selling a product or service to any Minor League or Major League Baseball club or league can only attend the Baseball Winter Meetings as a Baseball Trade Show Exhibitor. Any professional or amateur sports league, club or organization must go through the Non-Member approval process as mentioned above and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, in Minor League Baseball s sole discretion. Minor League Baseball, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to refuse admittance to any person or entity for any lawful reason. A member that has previously purchased a Name Badge Only may purchase an upgrade to a full registration package which includes tickets to all events by paying the onsite registration fee. NON-TRANSFERABLE CONVENTION NAME BADGES A convention name badge serves as a license for admission to the PBEO Job Fair, the Baseball Winter Meetings and Baseball Trade Show. Convention name badges are required to gain entry to the Baseball Trade Show. Convention name badges are non-transferable. Convention name badges must be worn at all times and must be presented upon request. Tickets are required to attend special events and are not transferable. Minor League Baseball reserves the right in its sole discretion to terminate an Attendee s license at any time and require the Attendee to leave the premises. Anyone so removed from the convention will not receive any refund of fees previously paid. Re-entry to the convention will not be allowed. In addition, Minor League Baseball reserves the right in its sole discretion to terminate an Attendee s license at any time and require Attendee to leave the premises if an Attendee presents a name badge that does not belong to him or her or cannot produce required identification. Sharing name badges is strictly prohibited. REGISTRATION vs. ROOM RESERVATION POLICY A person must be fully registered to attend the PBEO Job Fair and/or the Baseball Winter Meetings in order to reserve housing through the PBEO Job Fair and Baseball Winter Meetings hotel block. A deposit equivalent to one night s stay per room reserved is required to process the housing form. LOSS/REPLACEMENT POLICY If you lose or leave your registration materials at home, a replacement name badge can be purchased on site at the PBEO registration counter. If you lose special event tickets or a full passport, the charge for a replacement is the face value of the individual ticket or full passport. Upon your return home, a refund will be issued if you return all materials intact to our offices. USE OF LIKENESS Attendees irrevocably consent to Organizer and Organizer s employees, agents and personnel using the likenesses of Attendee and Attendee s employees, agents, personnel, invitees and guests for purposes including, without limitation, Organizer s operation of the PBEO Job Fair, the Baseball Winter Meetings and Baseball Trade Show, publicity, marketing, and promotion of the PBEO Job Fair, the Baseball Winter Meetings and Baseball Trade Show and Organizer s other programs. Attendees understand and agree that the likenesses may be copied and distributed by various methods, including, without limitation, photography, video, television, websites, brochures, advertisements, and magazines and newspapers. Attendee understands that, although Organizer will endeavor in good faith to use the likenesses in accordance with standards of good judgment, Organizer cannot warranty or guarantee that any further dissemination of the likenesses will be subject to Organizer s control. Accordingly, each Attendee releases Organizer from any and all claims and liability related to the likenesses or the dissemination thereof. USE OF ADDRESSES addresses of Attendees are shared with Baseball Winter Meetings Sponsors so that sponsors can provide information about industry products and reviews. 7
