She batted.330 for her career and still holds every fi elding record by a shortstop in the programʼs history. On the basketball court, she captained the Lady Patriots for three seasons. Named team MVP after her senior season, Detra held the record for steals in a season with 108 for 19 years. Lucille Giannuzzi ʻ83 - The two-sport star is one of the most versatile athletes ever at SBU. She lettered seven times while competing in softball and basketball. Giannuzzi boasted a.363 batting average and a.958 fi elding percentage over her softball career. She still holds five records in softball and was also team MVP in 1982 and an NCAA Division III All-Region selection in 1984.
