2 Game Location Directions: Turn into Casperkill, which is on the right of Route 9 heading north ( or on the left heading south). Once in Casperkill, make the first right and pass the upper fields on the right. Park in the gravel lot or in the road, just don t park in the parking lot across from the upper fields ( yeah yeah I know that you all know this!)

4 Week One Write ups BUNT ME 1-WE RE STILL HUGE IN JAPAN 0 Submitted by Andy G. In a battle of the pop up teams We re STILL Huge in Japan did their best from drooling on themselves and falling asleep from boredom. Led by their fiery captain, Mad Mike, team WSHJ put up a good fight in their 1-0 loss. Shout outs to first basemen Wild Bill who turned an impressive double play and Big O for playing a stellar right field. Here s to the rest of the season and 1-0 or 0-0 games...can t wait! #wakawaka Submitted by Kyle Nace In a game that will be forever known as "FunBowl I", Bunt Me dismantled We're Still Huge In Japan, by the embarrassing score of 1-0. While only 1 fun was scored the whole game, there were many highlights. In total, less than 10 runners reached base; 4 touched 2nd base and 1 touched 3rd! This increased the fun for both teams since they needed to swap so often! Kevin lead the game off with a textbook bunt, which was called foul, he then got on base with a much more fun "kick", that was not called a bunt. Kyle D. then did great work by kicking into a double play. In the top of the 4th WSHIJ got the first 2 kickers on base with Scotty and the top of the lineup coming up. Bunt Me defense held strong and kept the lead runner at 2nd. In the bottom of the 5th the Bunt Me offense exploded with the top of the lineup doing serious work. Kevin once again led off with a great legal "kick", Kyle D. sacrificed him over to 2nd, Taylor sacrificed him to 3rd and Tyrell "kicked" Kevin home by beating out a throw to first. This scored the lone fun for either team. The crowd was going wild with excitement. Both teams hope to score more funs next week! MVPs: Taylor (for a great diving catch) & Kevin (for scoring the lone fun and, in a move of excellent sportsmanship, buying a pitcher of beer for WSHIJ) LVP: none, so much FUN was had! You Can t Kick With Us 0 Barracuda Azules 11 Submitted By Aaron Cheddar Rebackoff You Can't Kick With Us (YCKWU) was first to the plate. Brandon was able to make it to 2nd but was the 3rd out on his way to 3rd base. Cheddar started Barracudas off strong with a home run. Brandon &Tiff were able to make the first 2 outs but Barracudas were able to score 3 more runs before a force at 3rd brought us into the 2nd inning. YCKWU was unable to get anyone on base. We were a little more ready for fielding and prevented any more runs from being scored. The inning ended with a double play by Brandon. Tiff &Tine were able to on but didn't score in the 3rd. Once again Cheddar found our rookie in the outfield and scored a home run. Tom & Brandon made the 1st two outs. Despite Brandon's road runner feet to bring the ball in from the outfield, Barracudas were able to score 2 more runs on the play. One more run was scored before Tom made the last catch of the inning. Kirsten was our only kicker able to get on base for YCKWU in the top of the 4th. Jess caught the 1st out followed by Tom tagging the player running to 2nd. 3 runs were scored before Jenn made the 3rd out with a catch in the bushes. In the 5th, Tom & Jess were able to get on base. No runs were scored by either team. Top of the 6th was YCKWU's last chance to score runs. Unfortunately, Tiff, with a full count, was the only runner to get on base. There were some impressive catches by Barracudas. One practicallyon the ground and the game ending catch in the bushes. Despite the 11-0 loss, YCKWU left the field with smiles on our faces. MVP goes to Brandon for nice catches, that road runner speed in the field, and getting us coordinating us in the field. The nwo is here and while it wasn t a W it was a statement that was made. We don t know if it was Downey being sleeveless in black and not pink that got into FIU s head or maybe the consistent whining over it not being fun, but a group of experienced players playing for their first time together held their own against a reoccurring powerhouse in the Mid-Hudson WAKA League. Jokes and such aside, while it was a 0-0 game there was good defense on both sides all throughout the field. Whether it was pitching, infield, or outfield it seemed liked everyone was involved in the game. Runs won t come easy against either of these teams, that s for sure, and this is could very well be a finals match up come late October. The champ belt for nwo this week goes to a pair in the form of Billy and Teck. Billy s charging and Teck s pitching held FIU scoreless and were an intricate part of an overall stellar defense. Deez Nuts 1-TBD 0 Deez nuts starting off their second season with a 1-0 win over TBD. Margie had the big play with a sac grounder down the first base in the bottom of the fifth, moving over Evan and Reese. Jeff had the clutch, game-winning rbi going down the third base line, with Evan hustling in for our first run. Also, a great combination of pitching by Rob and Rocco, and our defense to keep TBD scoreless. DEEZ MF NUTS
