1 CATALINA FIELD IN GREENBANK PARK PO Box 5150, Greenbank Road, Wilmington, DE Tel: (302) Meeting Minutes Capitol Little League Board, March 5, 2018 ROLL CALL / ATTENDANCE Call to Present: AB, AJ, DP, DD, DH, FP, HY, JL, MZ, SMc, SM, TM, WM Absent: DJ APPROVAL OF MINUTES 7:10PM GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT/UPDATES: In the February Meeting Jason Davis announced that he was resigning in his role as a coach in the Major Division. He also announced that he would retain his position as a board member. After being given time to reconsider his decision, he subsequently decided to not only resign as a coach, but also as a member of the Capitol Little League Board. As JD was the VP of the Minors, there was a vacancy. Mike Zielinski offered to take over the position as VP of the Minors and Sharon McVey offered to then take over MZ s old role as VP of Tee-Ball and Rookie Minor division. Andrew Brantley requested of the board that the matter be voted on electronically. There were 10 Yes votes, which allowed the board to vote electronically. AB then made a motion to install MZ as the Minors VP and SMc as the TB/RM VP. Susan Montifia seconded the motion. There were 10 Yes votes, and the measure passed. REPORT OF DIRECTORS/COMMITTEES 1. Blocked issues resolved (mostly) New address for league communication, info@capitol-ll.org b. G-Suite setup completed (AB) c. New postings for Field Days (3/24-3/25), Dick s Sporting Goods Discount Days (3/4-3/5) 4. VP Majors (TM) a. Interleague Scheduling getting started should be out in the next couple weeks b. Need to vote on Majors Assistant Coaches i. TM Motion to approve for Angels; JL 2 nd ; Approved ii. AB Motion to approve for Marlins; TM 2 nd ; Approved 5. VP Minors (MZ) a. All coaches informed of their appointments and the numbers we are dealing with at the minor division. By MZ b. Looking like we ll have 3 teams of 11 and one team of 10 right now i. Orioles, Giants, Dodgers, Athletics 6. VP Rookie Minor/ Tee-Ball (MZ) a. Potential Coaching Candidates (will know more as we get through signups) b. Teams TBD once the Minor Draft is completed i. List sent to SMc 1. 5 RMs 2. 6 T-Ball ii. TM offered to do Coaches clinics c. Will work with AB on the practice and game schedules after teams are decided d. Can use bats from last year, but buy a sticker ($2.00 each) to put on bat e. Using preapproved balls

Team Sponsor (coordinate with HY and DD) d. District Juniors Meeting on 3/12 at NNLL 7:00PM 8. Coaching Coordinator (TM) a. Date (s) for coaching clinics for the 2018 season? b. We ll use the New Castle County Inclement Weather hotline to determine game cancellations 9. Umpires (JL) a. Need to review numbers of coaches available against the number/regularity of games b. Reminder that coaches/managers are not the only ones that can umpire i. For Majors games, Home team will provide a parent as Base Ump c. WM made motion to have Minors umpire the Minors games (similar to Midway); Motion tabled until next meeting, so that schedules would be available 10. Fields/Buildings (AJ / FP) a. Building Insurance quote/update from TM/AB i. DD to provide additional info 1. C. Wallace - $ reduced to $755 a. Their assessment was revised, reducing the cost to rebuild/replace structures b. Update on Dugouts at BSS Materials List? i. Working on it - AJ c. Diamond Tex Delivery $800/load, 1 load per field (Catalina and BSS) i. Pyle is a lot lower than Vaught d. Any Updates on solutions for the leaning light pole at Catalina i. Signed off on purchase order for $3, Need to ask to replace bulbs that are out, while there working on replacing pole e. Update on Conversation/Meeting with Bob Merril from NCC (MZ)

4 i. MZ met w/bob 1. Need to trim around batting cage 2. Trim fence line from clubhouse to batting cage 3. Can clear shrubbery / weeds 4. Can hang signs on the inside and outside of fence a. AB Motion to charge $500 for outside of fence (4 to start); FP 2 nd ; Approved 5. Can add onto scoreboard f. Concrete Pad any updates on scheduling this with Kyle Cyczk g. New Tarps needed for Diamond Tex AJ will pick up when we get the delivery h. Small equipment shed for Catalina (table for next month) i. Decision on Landscaping/Grass Cutting i. 6 a. Getting a touchpad lock on concession Less than $100 (about the same cost to get enough copies made of the Concession key). b. Will put a labeled key hanger in Concessions with the other necessary keys c. Will put a lock box in the Board Room with masters of all CLL keys 2. Permitting of Fields for the 2018 season (TM) Completed 3. Interleague Play for 2018 Season AB has communicated with SNLL, Newark American, Midway and Suburban a. NALL board wasn t interested in interleaguing too far b. Midway is on for Majors and Minors c. Suburban is in for the majors waiting for confirmation on the Minors d. New Castle said they are in for the Majors waiting to hear on the Minors e. Stanton definitely in for the Majors No minors 4. Distribution of flyers in Schools (AB/HY) All flyers distributed more than a week ago. One more set going to Heritage Elementary (verbiage changed and a map of Capitol s area added to the flyer) 5. Posters and Yard Signs Have they all been removed? a. Received a fine from DelDot for the placement of a couple of the signs b. Need to collect any remaining signs 6. Bat Grant CLL not selected New Business 1. Opening Day Currently Set for April 7 th a. Does pushing back to the 14th make sense? - YES i. Allow for more time for uniform delivery and distribution as well as field prep ii. Spring break just wrapping up for the majority of the players iii. Majors and/or Minors could still play one or two games prior to 14 th. iv. Is the photographer already set for the 7 th - 1. Photographer not available 4/14. Will keep 4/7. b. Whether it s the 7 th or the 14 th, we need a few things confirmed i. Time for Opening Ceremonies to start 9:30AM 1. Arrive by 9:00PM, to find team, etc. ii. Time for Pictures to start - 8:00AM (20 minutes per team) iii. Concession Needs / Setup iv. Do we have a DJ? v. First Pitch C. Wallace

7 2. SNLL partnership a. AB approached SNLL president to see if they were open to bolstering the relationship between CLL and SNLL i. Majors Interleague only b.
