LAS VEGAS BALLPARK: The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE: HHC) announced on October 10, 2017 its plans to develop and construct a baseball stadium in Downtown Summerlin on approximately eight acres just south of City National Arena, the National Hockey League practice facility for the Vegas Golden Knights. The announcement on October 10, followed a vote by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors approving a marketing partnership that gives LVCVA naming rights to the stadium. The Las Vegas Ballpark is being designed by HOK, a global architecture firm with an expertise in stadium design. The 10,000-fan-capacity stadium blends the distinct architectural style of the Summerlin community with the aviation legacy of Howard Hughes. The ballpark will provide a wide range of seating options including 22 suites, club seats, berm seating, party zones and decks, picnic tables, kids zone, bars and even a pool beyond the outfield wall. Designed to create a festival-like atmosphere in Downtown Summerlin, the site will be landscaped to complement the master planned community. Parking will be conveniently located on adjacent sites. The 51s baseball team has been a staple in the Las Vegas community for over three decades, said Don Logan, President/COO, Las Vegas 51s. With a new home in Downtown Summerlin, the future of professional baseball in Southern Nevada looks exceptionally bright. 3 Groundbreaking Ceremony for Las Vegas Ballpark: The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE: HHC), the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), community leaders, Major League Baseball (MLB) executives, and hundreds of loyal fans broke ground on Friday, February 23 on Las Vegas Ballpark, a 10,000-person capacity baseball stadium that will be the future home of the Las Vegas 51s, the city s professional baseball team. The team, a member of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, is wholly owned by The Howard Hughes Corporation. 51 s on Radio in Russ Langer broadcast 140 games on NBC Sports Radio AM 920 The Game and on Langer completed his 19 th season behind the mike he is a 10-time recipient of the Nevada Sportscaster of the Year award (2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015) presented by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association also worked a total of 30 Montreal Expos games during the 2003 and 2004 seasons in 2006, Langer was hired for additional major league duty by the Baltimore Orioles and broadcast 10 games on a fill-in basis during the course of the season has also broadcast selected Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training games in March of 2006 and in Arizona in March of 2008 and with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009 and 2010 and Chicago White Sox in also broadcast the action for the 2016 Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network from Charlotte, North Carolina in 2018, Langer is in his seventh season as the radio play-by-play voice for the UNLV Football team. Blum Broadcast Booth prior to the 2013 season to honor the 51s Special Assistant to the General Manager The Blummer passed away on July 22, 2012 at the age of 91...also served as the play-by-play voice for Stars/51 s baseball in selected seasons from & his company, Robert J. Blum Productions, also produced Las Vegas Triple-A professional baseball games broadcast on radio and television for several seasons. 51 s Manager Tony DeFrancesco: He was named the 24 th manager (January 9, 2018) in the history of the Las Vegas franchise ( present, 36 seasons). Career Summary: He has compiled 34 seasons overall in professional baseball, including 24 seasons as manager (over.500 seasons in 19 of 24 years) has compiled an overall managerial record over 24 seasons (current) of 1,668-1,460 (.533) in the Oakland A's ( ), Houston Astros ( ) and New York Mets (2018) organizations has also compiled an impressive Pacific Coast League managerial career record over 15 seasons (current) of 1, (.550) as a Triple-A skipper from , was a member of the Houston Astros organization for seven seasons ( ) and was the manager for Triple-A Oklahoma City for four seasons ( ) and Triple-A Fresno for three seasons ( ) was the manager of the PCL squad at the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game was also the manager for seven seasons at Triple-A Sacramento (Oakland A's) from , the PCL tenure includes four championships (2003, 2004, 2007, 2015), two Triple-A National Championships (2007, 2015) and eight division titles was named the 2003 PCL Manager of the Year and the 2015 Minor League Manager of the Year by Baseball America the four PCL titles is tied with Hall of Famer Del Crandall for the most championships in league history.
