Las Vegas defeats Fresno 8-5 for second straight victory in series finale: The 51 s defeated the Grizzlies 8-5 last night in the finale of the four-game series before a FIREWORKS night crowd of 6,871 at Cashman Field. Las Vegas offense: The 51 s recorded 8 hits and rallied from a 4-1 deficit for the victory. Third baseman Cody Asche was 2-for-4, double, 4 RBI, three-run homer in the sixth inning; first baseman Patrick Kivlehan was 2-for-4, double, run scored; designated hitter Johnny Monell was 1-for-3, walk, double, RBI, two runs scored and catcher Tomas Nido was 1-for-3, walk, double, RBI, run scored. Las Vegas offense: The 51 s recorded 7 hits and stranded six runners on base. CASHMAN FIELD FINALE: The 2018 season will mark the Las Vegas franchise final campaign at Cashman Field. LAS VEGAS BALLPARK: The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE: HHC) announced on October 10, 2017 its plans to develop and construct a baseball stadium in Downtown Summerlin on approximately eight acres just south of City National Arena, the National Hockey League practice facility for the Vegas Golden Knights. The announcement on October 10, followed a vote by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors approving a marketing partnership that gives LVCVA naming rights to the stadium. The Las Vegas Ballpark is being designed by HOK, a global architecture firm with an expertise in stadium design. The 10,000-fan-capacity stadium blends the distinct architectural style of the Summerlin community with the aviation legacy of Howard Hughes. The ballpark will provide a wide range of seating options including 22 suites, club seats, berm seating, party zones and decks, picnic tables, kids zone, bars and even a pool beyond the outfield wall. Designed to create a festival-like atmosphere in Downtown Summerlin, the site will be landscaped to complement the master planned community. Parking will be conveniently located on adjacent sites.
