1 Attention High School Baseball Coaches, Fall Ball back here in Skokie! I hope you are enjoying rest of your summer days and preparing for upcoming school year. For those of you that are still involved with your teams/schools, please see all information, if you have moved on for whatever reason, please pass this onto a responsible adult/coach that might take an interest organizing their school team(s). Please see all information attached regarding the upcoming league that the Skokie Park District will once again host. If possible, please inform me if you are planning on getting your team members to play here as I will first invite those that played last year and then invite some other potential schools in the area that are looking to play this fall. The league once again will consist of Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will work with all teams regarding days and games. I would like to start the league with some games on August 27th, that week anyways to get a start on before we get into fall weather. Same league fee as in the past and would need all required registration forms, etc. turned in with league fee prior to start of the season. I know that can be an issue and will work with all teams on this. Thanks again for your time, interest and support and look forward hearing from you and your intentions this fall season. 4 2018 Fall High School Baseball League Rules ALL GAMES ARE WOOD BATS. One-piece wood or composite wood bats are acceptable. UMPIRES WILL BE INSTRUCTED THAT No metal, ceramic or wood/metal combination bats can be used. can be used. The SPD will supply two baseballs for each game. Note: NO TIME LIMIT, however if game is running long and is over two hours, umpire has authority allow last bat or stop game in order to get other games in. Pre-Game warm-up will be for first game time only, unless time allowed prior to 7:15 start--maximum 10 Minutes for each team. If pregame goes past game starting time, game will be shortened. 10 run Mercy Rule--- High School Federation Rules Apply, unless noted. Special League Rules : 1. Free substitution, Unlimited Entry. There is No Limitation to the number of times a starting player or substitute may re-enter the game or batting order. Not every defensive player must appear in batting order. 2. Batting Order--more than 9 players may be included in the batting order but this number must remain the same throughout the game. Any player entered or re-entered in the batting order must remain in the same position they first occupied. 3. Pitching Rules--Pitchers removed from the game may not return to the mound. Note: No line up cards necessary with umpire. Coaches should exchange with each other and communicate what type of line up you are going with High School Head coaches can certainly be there in attendance at games to observe all players, however NO direct coaching on the field permitted.
