2 About the Straight Line Sprint Challenge One Hundred & Fifty (150) Metres straight line sprinting coupled with the concept of an MTB Eliminator creates an exciting mixture for all cyclists participating. The Straight Line Sprint Challenge (SLSC) is an innovative concept from the TTCF to incorporate top level sprinting on the road in an atmosphere that is conducive to action filled cycling. Cyclists are seeded within their respective categories with heats of three (3) four (4) cyclists each. A stipulated number of cyclists advance while the remainder are either eliminated or sent to a repechage until the final four (4) cyclists remain. The SLSC will also feature a Club One-Pot Cookout Competition with the winner taking bragging rights and all of the registration fees for the cook-out. Cyclist Eligibility The SLSC will feature five categories as indicated below that will compete with each other. Cyclists will be allowed to enter one category only. Category Youth A (M+F) Youth B (M+F) Cadets (M+F) Casual (M+F) Masters Super Class (M+F) Composition Youth Developers U11 & U13 Youth Developers U7 & U9 Tinymites and Juveniles For any cyclist unregistered with the TTCF or have not competed in 2017 All Masters Open to All Categories Cyclist Registration Registration will be $50 per cyclist for the 2017 Straight Line Sprint Challenge will take place via each club s TTCF login credentials. The deadline for registration is Thursday 20 th 8:00pm. There will be no late registration however Unregistered cyclists sign-in on the day. Cyclists competing in the Open category will be required to select the Open option on the Club registration

3 page. All other cyclists are required to simply select Registered and they will be entered into their respective category based on the 2017 TTCF Registration. Cyclists are allowed to compete in two categories, however, will be required to pay two registration fees. Venue The Straight Line Sprint Challenge will take place on the Eastern End of the National Cycling Centre Car Park with the starting location to the extreme south of the Car Park and Finish opposite the Eastern Staircase Entrance. Restrictions There will be no gear restrictions for any of the categories in the Straight Line Sprint Challenge. All cyclists must compete in either a standard Road Bicycle or Mountain Bike without any modifications. The use of disc wheels will not be allowed. Bib Numbers All Managers are required to inform their cyclists of the proper placement of their Racing Bib numbers. Any cyclist not adhering to this will not be allowed to ride. Two bib numbers are to be used and are to be worn on left and right hand sides. Prize Structure To be finalized. Event Structure Qualification/Heats: Cyclists will be seeded within their category by a Standing 150m Time Trial on the day of the competition. Each cyclist will have his/her standing 150m Time Trial against the clock with 30 seconds gaps in between each cyclist. All cyclists will perform their trial from Lane 2 as seen on Figure 2. Based on the seeding from the Time Trial, cyclists will be placed into groups of three or four.

4 At the Start: The cyclist with the best seeding position within the Heat will be allowed to select his starting position, while the next highest seed will select the next position and so on. Cyclist will be held up by neutral holders for a standing start. The start will be signaled by a 10 second countdown. A false start will be signaled by blow of a whistle. The race will be stopped and restarted without the first offending cyclist.. The first 10m of the start will be demarcated into four separate lanes as seen on figure 1. Cyclists are not allowed to exit their lane within the first 10m. Cyclists are to keep a straight line as much as possible; however, ultimately they are not to impede the forward movement of any other cyclist. Disqualified cyclists will not be allowed to advance to following rounds or to repechages. Figure 1 - Starting Lanes

7 At the Finish: Based on the entries, a certain number of cyclists will advance to the next round and the losers are either sent to a repechage or eliminated. See example on the previous page for 16 and 8 cyclists entered into one category. One-Pot Cook-Out The Clubs and Corporate Teams will also have a chance to get in on the competitive action with the One-Pot Cook-Out! Come with your best one-pot dish that will use one similar item to be announced closer to the event. Rules of the One-Pot Cook-Out: 1. Registration is $100 per pot with the winner taking all of the Registration Fees. 2. Clubs are required to cook their one-pots on site at the National Cycling Centre on the evening of the event. 3. Dishes must be in One-Pot, teams can enter more than One-Pot but each pot will be judged separately. 4. Teams will be advised of the Special Ingredient the week of the event. The Special Ingredient must be used in their one-pot dish. 5. The Judging Panel will be made up of a minimum of three (3) persons and will score the Pots based on Overall Taste, Flavour, Presentation of Dish, Use of the Secret Ingredient and Uniqueness. 6. Judging will begin at 7:00pm on Race/Cook Day!
