1 2018 Junior & Youth Golden Gloves Nationals (Males & Females) Fact Sheet Event Check-In: Late Arrivals: Registration and Fees: All participants must present themselves in person at the event check-in. Monday, July 16th 2017, 4:00pm-7:00pm AND 8:30pm-11:00pm AND Tuesday, July 17th 2017, 8:30am-4:00pm; scheduled airport pickups end 2:30pm Late arrivals WILL NOT be accepted into the tournament other than a verifiable flight / weather delay issue that can be verified. If there is an EXTREME situation that causes you to need to arrive after the above check-in event closes you MUST send a TEXT MESSAGE to the Tournament Director, Dawn Sanchez, at with the reason for the delay and your estimated time of arrival which MUST be on Tuesday July 17, Coaches & Officials are REQUIRED to register on-line at and must provide proof of completing the on-line registration at the event check-in. There is no registration fee for Coaches & Officials. NEW THIS YEAR: ALL tournament giveaways, gifts, and appreciation activities are only guaranteed for those coaches & officials who complete their on-line registration No Later than Friday July 13, 2018 at 8:00am PDT. You MUST also be present when items are distributed to receive them (refer to tournament schedule for more details). 1 NEW THIS YEAR: Athletes are asked to reserve their spot and pay their registration fee on-line at and should bring a copy of their receipt with them to the event check-in. Athletes must bring hard copies of their registration documents (available on-line at to the event check-in to complete their registration and finalize their entry into the tournament. Athlete Registration fee is $20.00 if paid on-line NO LATER THAN Friday, July 13, 2018 at 8:00am PDT. On-site registration fee is $ ALL tournament giveaways, gifts, and appreciation activities are only guaranteed for those athletes who reserved their spot and paid their registration fee on-line before the on-line deadline of Friday July 13, 2018 at 8:00am PDT. Mesquite Blvd. Mesquite, Nevada (Directly off the I-15 Interstate which can be picked up at McCarran Airport) Casablanca Events Center MANDATORY GENERAL WEIGH-IN FOR ALL BOXERS TUESDAY EVENING JULY 17TH. General Weigh-Ins start at 4:30pm see General Weigh-in schedule for details.you MUST SHOW UP IN PERSON AT THE REGISTRATION ROOM TO CHECK IN PRIOR TO THE GENERAL WEIGH-IN. ALL ATHLETES MUST BE PRESENT AND SUCCESSFULLY MAKE WEIGHT TO BE ENTERED INTO THE TOURNAMENT DRAW. THERE ARE NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCES; BOXERS MUST BE ON WEIGHT. Weigh-ins and Physicals: Drawing & Bracketing: Each boxer must satisfactorily complete weigh-ins and physicals each day that they compete. Please remember to have your athletes present at the start of weigh-ins as the order may be random. There is no weight allowance. Tuesday - July 17, following the General Weigh-Ins THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES TO THE WEIGHT CLASSES ONCE YOU CHECK IN AT THE REGISTRATION ROOM. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE AT THE GENERAL WEIGH-IN OR THE DRAW OR AT ANY OTHER POINT AFTER YOU CHECK-IN AND RECEIVE YOUR CREDENTIALS. If during the random draw of brackets, boxers from the same boxing club match against one another in their first bout of the competition, the boxers coach must immediately notify the tournament staff conducting the draw while the bracket is displayed and the bracket will be redrawn. THE BRACKETS WILL BE posted by 5:00am Wednesday July 18, 2018 outside of the registration room. Bout sheets will be posted daily on the Junior Golden Gloves Facebook page. USA Boxing Membership: Trial Scale: All tournament participants (Boxers, Coaches, Officials, Physicians, Tournament Administration) must be registered with USA Boxing for the 2018 membership year and have proof of registration (Passbook w/ photo and current registration card inside w/ proof of current certification). Officials and coaches MUST be currently certified to work. A trial scale will be available at various times throughout the tournament. The times and location will be posted.

Level II/III officials receive priority for free hotel room. 4 Coaches Check-In: MUST REGISTER ON-LINE AT to complete the following on-line forms: Non-Athlete Entry Form Medical Consent Form Non-Athlete Internet permission slip This tournament has applied for ranking status, if approved coaches WILL NOT be eligible to coach and officiate - you will have to pick one or the other. MUST CHECK-IN (in-person) no later than Tuesday, July 17th :00pm and present the following items: Proof of completing on-line registration Current red passbook - must have photo included 2018 USA Boxing membership card Proof of current certification Coaches - if you do not register AND attend the event check in YOU WILL NOT be included in the tournament, this means you will not receive a credential and WILL NOT be included in any of the coaches appreciation gifts or activities and YOU WILL have to purchase a ticket to enter the tournament daily. However if you are a registered and certified coach YOU WILL be allowed to work your boxers corner so long as you have your current red coaches book with photo and 2018 membership card and proof of current certification on you at all times. Certification Clinics: Athlete Check-In: We will not have any officials or coaches certification clinics or tests at this event as they are now available on-line. There will be a rules refresher offered by COO Beau Campbell that is open to both coaches and officials. See tournament schedule for details. MANDATORY ALL Athlete s must check-in at the event check-in and must must provide the below listed printed forms in-person at the event check-in to finalize their entry into the tournament, general weigh-in, and draw as well as receive their credentials: Athlete Entry Form Registration Fee or proof of pre-paid online registration fee (see above registration and fees section for details) Athlete Internet permission slip Medical Consent Form Current white passbook, must have photo included NO BOOK NO BOX 2018 USA Boxing membership card Annual athlete physical within 12 months from competition date ALL Athlete's must provide the following forms if applicable: Current braces release form Female athlete acknowledgement Breast implant form **It is required that all forms are completed and signed by the Athlete and their parent and/or guardian.**

5 Citizenship Requirements: USA Boxing Passbooks: All ATHLETES MUST HAVE PROOF OF US CITIZENSHIP, boxes will need to show a copy of their birth certificate or U.S. Passport to tournament staff at check-in. USA Boxing Athlete Passbooks should be hand-carried by each boxer on one of the check-in days in order to complete the registration process. NO BOOK NO BOX Minimum Number of Bouts: All divisions male/female must have five (5) registered bouts in order to compete. Walkovers and/or unopposed wins do not count towards the mandatory minimum bout rule. There will NOT be a Novice division at this tournament. NO matched bouts will be offered. Age Determination: Age will be calculated based on the boxer s YEAR OF BIRTH with the exception of Pee-Wee 8. Youth, Junior, Intermediate, Bantam, Pee-Wee Age Divisions Male/Female: The youth, junior, intermediate & bantam age divisions at the 2018 Junior & Youth Golden Gloves Nationals will use Year of Birth to determine age. Boxers in the Pee Wee division who are 8 years old at the start of the tournament will be in the Pee Wee 8 division and those already 9 years old or born in 2008 will compete in the Pee Wee 9-10 division. Youth boxers must be 17 or 18 years of age, determined by year of birth. Youth boxers must have been born in the years 2000 or Junior boxers must be 15 or 16 years of age, determined by year of birth. Junior boxers must have been born in the years 2002 or Intermediate boxers must be 13 or 14 years of age, determined by year of birth. Intermediate boxers must have been born in the years 2004 or Bantam boxers must be 11 or 12 years of age, determined by year of birth. Headgear will be worn throughout the tournament by all age and weight divisions. All boxers must wear USA Boxing or AIBA approved competition headgear. Participants must provide their own competition approved headgear. Uniform: All boxer s uniforms must have a color contrasting waistband and be in compliance with USA Boxing Rules and Regulations. All other items foul-proof cups, breast protectors, form-fitted mouthpieces, uniforms, tape & gauze, velpeau (soft stretchy cotton), sponges, water bottles, etc. must be provided by the participants. Scorecards: Passbook Pick-up: Code of Conduct: The Chief Of Officials will allow coaches to view the scorecards from their boxers bout as a courtesy to be utilized as a learning tool. To review your bouts scorecards, coaches should first exit the Field of Play after the conclusion of the bout and wait for at least one out to pass before submitting the request to the Tournament Administrator, Jeanne Depriest. After filing out a request sheet the scorecards will be transferred onto a Supervisors Report and available for viewing approximately 20 minutes after the request is submitted. This courtesy will be rescinded at any time if abused in any way. After each boxer s conclusion from the tournament, lease retrieve your passbook from the Tournament Administrator s table after allowing approximately minutes for processing. ALL participants should be aware that each of us are representatives of USA Boxing and the Golden Gloves of America. We are invited to the host hotel and venue and want to leave positive impression of our membership and sports. ALL participants conduct inside and outside the Field of Play, and throughout the city go Mesquite should demonstrate exemplary behavior at all times.

8 Individuals deemed guilty of misconduct will be immediately barred from the tournament and required to leave at their own expense. All participants must adhere to the USA Boxing Code of Conduct. Use of Image: Awards: Boxers, Coaches, Officials, and Staff agree to be filmed, videotaped, and photographed and to have his/her name, image, picture, likeness, voice, and biographical information otherwise recorded, in any media by representatives of the Golden Gloves Tournament staff, and by any other entity authorized by the Golden Gloves Tournament staff. There will be Championship Belts for the Golden Gloves National Champion in each weight division and in each weight class. Unopposed champions are not guaranteed a championship belt, based on availability, but they will receive a championship trophy at a minimum.
